Thanks guys for the welcome. Anyway, I would like to buy some stuffs from cdjapan or something like that. Does anyone know how much can I import stuffs before I get taxed? How long does it takes to get through the Zollamt?

Tenso is very reliable, but also tend to be expensive in some cases. I use Tenso for cheaper and smaller stuff (mags, single dvds). Cannot remember if i have ever paid customs here. Amazon.co.jp delivers to Germany directly, btw.

Your best bet however is someone in Japan acting as your proxy.

If your order is worth less than 22€ including shipping you won't have to pay anything. If your order is up to 150€ (including shipping) you'll have to pay 19% of the amount you payed for the goods (7% for books and paintings, but paintings are probably hard to find at cdjapan). If your order is worth more you will have to pay 19% + additional customs duties depending on what exactly you order. Here's a list on these aditional duties and here's an article about what I wrote at the beginning.

If you're lucky enough they might not have enough time to investigate your parcel and will just proceed with the shipping process without actually demanding money from you. Happened to me like 2 times, the last time a few days before christmas, which saved me like 25€, but this only happens occasionally really. Wouldn't bet my money on it happening.

How long the customs process takes varies a lot. As I mostly ship using SAL I can't really see how long my parcels actually are at the customs office, but from what I have heard it can take up to 1-2 weeks but can also be a lot faster. It has something to do with how many parcels the customs office has to investigate at the time.
I think before christmas/easter it could take very long.

    Hi Guys,

i found this ARTE video featuring "Anti-Porno" by Sion Sono.

    Why is it interesting?
It does feature Ami Tomite. Ami was a member of the notorious 8th generation, then became a gravure idol with plenty of DVDs to her name, and finally began working with Sion Sono, gaining her access to the feuilleton.
Ami speaks up about her gravure idol past, and also AKB48 is mentioned.
Since Ami is now considered a real artist, she blames her idol past (which she hates) on japanese men, gender stereotypes in japanese society in general, and her being a mis-understood hikikomori. She now uses her art to let out all the anger and frustration which got stuck up in her idol days.
    This is the corresponding article:
    http://tracks.arte.tv/de/ami-tomite

It doesnt really matter, but AKB48 is being described as a 24 member group. I dont know if it does say anything about the quality of research within the rest of the video (its an interview, anyway). Maybe Mamyon really feels that bad about her past, for which i pity her, but there is a certain narrative underlying this, which we usually know from similar content by BBC et al. Not surprisingly, the clip is called "the revenge of the sex object".

Currently it's Japan-Week on arte, and they also have a documentary about idols, which is already in the Mediathek. It focusses mostly on smaller groups and I'm sure I've seen some of it before already, but at least at the start AKB pops up too:

    EDIT:
Ok after watching this, I noticed it's indeed a pretty old documentary, from 2016, and it's as always mostly negative towards Idols

    Moin,
