Kato Minami (Katomina) / 1st Generation

People still hate Katomina for that old thing? The Maho/NGT48 scandal (or what should I call it) had been in headlines for months and once again, when Katomina was in public place, there was negative news on TV about NGT48. The only thing she did was, that she took a picture of the tv and tried to publish it to her friends, saying that she would like to change the channel. I'm pretty sure that at that point MOST of the NGT48 members and kenkyuuseis were just as tired and frustrated to the scandal as she was and just wanted it to be over. However, Katomina was stupid enough to accidentally publish her picture and message to the world instead of just her friends and, like @KPKgirl said, she paid the price dearly.

 

Nah, she had already been implicated in the scandal already and the post was just the icing on the cake. And there were previous rumours of her dating long before the scandal so it was all just confirmation she was a "wrong un".

 

Rumours are rumours and facts are facts. After that Instagram posting (which was meant to be private) she was and apparently still is the SOURCE OF ALL EVIL for some people. Yet, the only thing she said in that Instagram posting was, that she would like to change the channel. Even in that posting, which was supposed to be private and be seen by her friends only, she never said anything negative about Maho.

(And no, I'm not Katomina oshimen. I have voted 11 different members in senbatsu sousenkyo and none of them is from NGT48.)

The kenkyuusei members were sad (some of them looked devastated), it just shows how much Katomina means to them as a senpai, seems to have taken good care of them.

But that's just how humans are, they all make mistakes (like Katomina did, quite a sensitive one), and many of them choose to forget the goods in a flash while remembering the bads forever.

Katomina is now part of the agency Standby3. Former NGT48 manager Imamura Etsuro is a director at the agency.

The agency is not listed on her instagram or twitter (where she mainly has Japanese followers), but it is listed on her weibo, where she mainly has Chinese followers.

Feel free to formulate your own opinion over that, but wow...

You know, there's a very popular literary quote here (meaning there'll be literally two people on this whole forum who will get it at first sight) which comes to my mind seeing that, it's about decadent Sicilian aristocracy afraid that their feudalistic privileges would be lost in the face of national unification. Interestingly, it's always fresh and relevant to bring up.

I didn't realise Etsuro was going by a fake name on the agency. I thought it was already pretty shady of Minami to put the agency only on her weibo and not on her Japanese-targeted social media. She seems popular in China, people don't seem to care or know about the NGT48 scandal and her "involvement" (putting that in quotation marks cause the worst we know is her badmouthing the incident on instagram).

They obviously know people won't like what they're doing. I'm honestly a bit grossed out.

 

Yeah... I'd like to press X for doubt even on that. Take a look at Saito Asuka's Weibo (to bring up another account that started activity on these same days) and then take a look back at this. Take a look back at how many thousand likes Saito Asuka normally gets per post, and then take a look at the measly couple dozens in the other one. Process the difference.
Evidently in Red China they have invented paid followers, but they still haven't invented bots that like your posts. As for the rest, see for yourself back elsewhere about the reaction to the announcement, I'm not wanting to comment further on it because she is not my target here, I don't care. She's past to me.
