Wah I rarely talk on stage48 anymore, I have been active on twitter and there are so many active sasshi's fan out there! Thanks to translate feature on twitter it's easier to read the content. But I do always open this page to hear update from fatrain lul!

It's uncanny to see her popularity raise on youngsters, boy she's everywhere! And as a woman I can tell you she looks prettier and stylish each and every day, not to mention she start appearing commercial with younger target market.

So I open my tweet and there is a cut show from wide na show, lots of people comment that they hope sasshi will involve in politic someday because they really like her vision but I have no idea what they're talking about, is there any explanation here? Thank you

 

^ I didn't want to go into detail here since I don't know the politic issue in question myself (and don't really want to know , but here is an essence of it in English), but it was basically something like that... as far as I can tell, there are some strong debates in Japanese politics and society over it right now, and protesting people are rallying on Twitter under a hashtag #検察庁法改正に抗議します (presumably using spam). some celebrities including Kyary Pamyu Pamyu made posts with that hashtag and got bashed for it (for meddling in politics they know nothing about). Sasshi's comment on "Wide na Show" about this issue was that she doesn't think that people spreading awareness about the issue is something bad, but the problem is with people who make conclusions from those one-sided short tweets and spreading them without properly learning about the issue from both sides. basically, don't get easily duped and swayed by mass effect and make decisions with your own judgement after carefully weighting all pros and cons. Sasshi said she didn't joint this campaign because she hadn't made up her mind about it yet.

after "Wide na" aired Sasshi was trending on Twitter, and it still hasn't calmed down! Sasshi's and other celebrities' words are still discussed! not everyone agree with her though and she gets her share of flames. fortunately, looks like majority of sane people support her statement, and some professors even write articles explaining her thoughts.

I really didn't want to waste time on a full translation because the whole situation was pretty clear to me and I didn't find it all that important, but since there seem to be some weird interpretations of her words spreading around, I guess I have to translate them after all... even though it's ancient history already

Sasshi's position was pretty neutral. her main focus wasn't even politics, she talked about internet literacy and common sense, but somehow both parties decided to interpret her words the way it fitted them and played tug of war with her opinion... oh well, it just shows how influential she had become.
