Whoa, thanks for translating unos. Yup, I realized that most of her Ameba posts are now restricted to a private access when I last checked it and I was hoping to get more from her twitter channel so I'm quite surprised that someone did translate it

I'm hoping she could get back to HKT too but if not, she can always try elsewhere. AKB is not the end-all of it. I'm still puzzled why she got the boot many years before but if ever she gets into another AKB group, there will be another Half-Filipina in the group.

To be honest the other blog did contain a lot of stuff where my bullshit radar went off. Uitan is in a local group from her prefecture, Sayan became a talento, Yuukosu is a cooking idol. We never heard anything from Airi or Ayaka. I always wondered that maybe one of the girls would try to come back to 48G, but it just seemed that the experience was unpleasant enough to them.

This might be old news, but... Apparently Airisu is releasing a gravure DVD this month.

 

OK, now I'm seriously uncomfortable. Because 1) I didn't know about this bizarre "porn" gravure market with 12 year old girls. And 2) Airusu is there. I'm usually OK with gravure for underage girls (If it's not purposely sexual) but this is waaay beyond the limits of something acceptable to me. Disgusting, to say the least

 

I removed the links posted just in case. Those DVD covers are not technically against forum rules, but it's a better safe than sorry situation I guess.

@brunoiaz - Now, about junior idols, it's a thing. If you have a chance to visit Akihabara, you'll find that many of the same shops that sell AKB48 goods sell junior idol DVDs. I was just as shocked as you when I first wandered into those shops looking for idol goods and discovered the existence of junior idols, but even though I've never watched any of those DVDs, considering that they're sold legally, they probably aren't anywhere near the level where you can equate them with "porn" of any sort. The market probably stems from Japan's obsession with youth, and while culturally some parts of it can be shady (and probably quite a few Japanese people will agree with you there) it is what it is, and I don't want anyone demeaning the girls like Taniguchi Airi by equating it in any way with porn, because it's not.

 

Since I never watched them, I can't really define properly if it's "equal" to porn or not, but personally, from the photos, I think they are as sexual as pornography. I think it's a personal opinion (With the influence of the initial shock, probably), but I believe sexuality doesn't have anything to do with being nude or not. And I don't believe pornography is degrading or offensive at all, considering there is a adult consent about what's going on (Not because of Airusu, but because of her family, the DVD producers and directors etc. etc.). Also, the fact they are exploiting this girls makes this even worse. Probably the 12-year girl that was spreading the girls to the camera didn't know (at least not as well as the person filming it) what she was actually doing. It makes me think what the hell their families are even thinking. However, this applies mainly to the links that I posted, not so much with Airusu. From her photos, it was not as sexual as the ones from the other girls (And she is older than then, so I believe she is more conscious on what she's doing), but it still makes me uncomfortable to think she's in this market.

Seems like Airisu already filmed a 2nd gravure DVD.
Release is scheduled for March 27

While her first DVD seemed rather cute the trailer for the 2nd one is borderline suggestive...regarding the release being a few weeks after her 16th birthday.

Yep. That's disturbing.

I read some articles about the theme and there is at least a beginning of discussion from the Japanese government about it. I hope this sort of exploration ends soon. (And don't come with a "this is their culture" excuse, there is a limit for cultural relativism.)
