Yeah, they're using katakana transcriptions of the English words (I don't blame the Japanese people for not inventing their own word for a country they didn't know existed lmao. Not even sure it existed yet when Japanese language developed into what it is??)

And yes, the katakana you gave was right. It's Ōsutoria and Ōsutoraria. (Interestingly, Ostoria looks more similar to how we actually spell it in German than the English, Spanish or French versions for my country's name)

 

With Tanochan obviously gone from AKB48, who are you guys following now? I've been interested in Otake Hitomi, Ingaki Kaori, and Okada Rina.

 

Within AKB48 (i.e. not SG) I've been following Megu and Komi alongside Tanochan for some time but my favourite upcoming new-gens are Erii, Kururun, Zukkii and Yahagi Moeka.

 

Thanks to Tano, I got interested in Taniguchi Megu and Yasuda Kana.



I've also always been interested in Minegishi Minami, Okada Nana, Team A's Yokoyama Yui and Komiyama Haruka. With Produce 48, I found my love for Miyazaki Miho, Muto Tomu and Kojima Mako again and also discovered Honda Hitomi. Thanks to AKBingo, I've started to like Sato Kiara, Hama Sayuna and Cho Kurena. And that's just in AKB alone. In the sister groups, I like Yamada Noe and Kato Minami from NGT very much, but I also think Yamaguchi Maho and Homma Hinata are very interesting. I actually keep a personal TOP 20 list I update every few months lol

Tano will be performing at an exhibition centre for "Dance Cantabile 2018" from 12th to 16th December!
If you're interested and in Japan during that time: Pre-sale lottery ticket appliance for Tano Yuka fans has already started on the 22nd September at 5pm JST but you can still apply for it until 3rd October (tomorrow) at 11:59pm! The ticket price is 7.500 Yen per ticket. If you're lucky and get a ticket, payments have to be finalised until 16th October 10am JST and tickets will be sent out on 10th November. You can pay with a VISA or Mastercard credit card or if you're in Japan right now, pay via cash at a 7/11.

阪神・淡路大震災については、展示資料を見て、本当にショックでした。
Seeing the exhibition regarding the Great Hanshin earthquake was a real shock.

東日本大震災の時、自分は何もできなくて、ただ布団にもぐり込んでいただけ。いざという時、咄嗟に動大切だと思いました。
During the Tōhoku earthquake (also known as Great East Japan earthquake), I couldn’t do anything. I thought it was important to move quickly but I was just on my futon.

それ以来、実家では防災バッグを用意しています。
Since this event, my parents at home have prepared disaster bags.

この作品では生死が描かれていて、生半可な気持ちで演じるわけにはいかない。
In this work we depict and talk about life and death, so I cannot do it half-heartedly.

改めて当時の映像などを見直し、あの日に起こつたことや人々が取った行動などを、きちんと受け止めたい。
I would like to reconsider the images in my head from that time, and take up the actions from that and pass them onto my role.

きっと、子どもの頃に感じたイメージと、大人になった今では印象が違うと思う。
I think that the image I had of it as a child is very different from how I see it now.

たの・ゆうか東京出身。2011年AKB48第12期生としてデビュー。舞台や映画でも主演を務める。2018 年8月卒業。『ヘブンズレコード青空篇』は初の朗読劇。
Tano Yuuka from Tokyo. In 2011 she had her debut as part of the 12th Generation of AKB48. But she has also starred in movies and on stage. In August 2018 she graduated. “Heaven’s Record ~Aozora Hen~” is her first recitation play.

Translator’s Note: During the Hanshin earthquake, Tano Yuka was not yet born and thus compares it to the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake when she was 14 years old. She is now 21.

Mori Shingo's "Dance Cantabile 2018" sees new cast members Maihane Mimi and Tano Yuuka

"Dance Cantabile 2018" will be performed at the Tokyo Museum Shinkansen Theatre from 12th to 16th December.

Composed by Mori Shingo from DIAMOND☆DOGS, "Dance Cantabile" was performed in May 2017 and the dance performance with the ripped jacket motif was unfolded. This time, "Dance Cantabile 2018" will be brushed up and improved a little and welcomes new cast members.

The cast includes Mori, Kazabana Mai-san who also participated in last year's event, additionally Fujita Nana, Machida Shingo who also appeared in last year's event, furthermore Maihane Mimi, Tano Yuuka and others. Higashiyama Yoshihisa, Nakatsuka Kouhei, Ueki Gou and Nagazawa Kazami will appear as daily guests.

There is a new game on LINE, called Kotoro and as you can see from one of Tano's tweets, she appears in it. From what I've gathered about the game is that it's an interactive texting game where the main character messages you and you send messages back (from similar games I've played, I assume you're given a choice which texts to send back and not actually write something back).

Tano's and Maihane Mimi's photos are at the top at the list of cast members, so I'm being hopeful and guessing that she's the main star alongside Mimi!
