So how many "problem" girls does that leave NGT with? Can they finally start the revitalization of the group (perhaps with an audition in March to refill the roster)?

The simple answer would be only Nishigata Marina. But I think some people also would include Seiji Reina or Nakai Rika in the list.

    48G itself.
This year is the year with most graduations among recent years.

Most likely many of the girls who wanted to leave last year decided to push it back a little in hopes the effects of the pandemic wouldn't affect their graduation

    2018: 45

Because... members... were... leaving? Not sure how to answer that.

That list seems to be 2019 graduation announcements, not actual graduations. Minegishi Minami is on there, and I distinctly remember her delayed graduation, as I'm sure most people will.

An actual list of graduations would look as follows:

    2016: 23 (AKB48) + 10 (SKE48) + 14 (NMB48) + 5 (HKT48) + 1 (NGT48) = 53
    2017: 23 (AKB48) + 12 (SKE48) + 9 (NMB48) + 5 (HKT48) + 3 (NGT48) + 1 (STU48) = 53
    2018: 13 (AKB48) + 13 (SKE48) + 9 (NMB48) + 5 (HKT48) + 3 (NGT48) + 3 (STU48) = 46
    2019: 23 (AKB48) + 14 (SKE48) + 16 (NMB48) + 6 (HKT48) + 9 (NGT48) + 10 (STU48) = 78
    2020: 8 (AKB48) + 3 (SKE48) + 10 (NMB48) + 5 (HKT48) + 3 (NGT48) + 4 (STU48) = 33
    2021: 13 (AKB48) + 10 (SKE48) + 11 (NMB48) + 3 (HKT48) + 1 (NGT48) + 4 (STU48) = 42 so far + 16 unfulfilled graduation announcements

Looking at the names of graduates, especially for 2019, it seems we lost a large chunk of Eitos for AKB48. That being said, they 'only' had 23 members graduate, which is a number we also had in 2016 and 2017.

SKE48 had a steady increase in graduations up until 2020, so 14 also isn't massively surprising there.

NMB48 had a lot of graduates, maybe because Sayanee left the year before and the group was floundering a little? It did take until 2021 for them to develop a new system and to find some new front members, in my opinion.

HKT48 has been keeping steady around 5 graduations, one extra for that year.

NGT48 had a lot of graduations that year... it was also the year in which the Yamaguchi Maho scandal happened.

STU48 also had a large number of graduates, comparatively. With recent bullying news, I wonder if that is related? That begs the question though, why did it go back down again since then? Not sure what exactly happened there.

I think it went down quite a bit for all groups in 2020 because everyone seemed to have that... let's wait and see attitude. With how they handled the pandemic and everything, it is not surprising that we're currently looking at about ~55ish graduations for this year (a couple of graduations might happen in early 2022). That would still be a lower number than 2019 though.

I think 2019 was just a bit of an uncertain year overall. Sayanee graduated the year before, Sasshi graduated, Sakura and Nako went to Korea, Jurina was on hiatus. Many of the groups therefore didn't have a center anymore and I think that made some members feel insecure/unstable in their position with the groups. I wonder, considering the year that followed, whether it worked out better or worse for them? I honestly don't know.

Yes it's graduation announcements. To me, that is more meaningful than actual graduation date because:

    1. It's easier to count and
    2. It's when the shock come in.

Kamijima Kaede announced graduation from HKT48. She'll leave in the beginning of January.

5th gen is turning out to be a cursed one for me

Now I seriously didn't expect this  Kaede is one of my 2 favorite HKT members and she's been in the group for only 3 years (she's also from the most recent gen). I can't believe she's already graduating  She's such a great girl and idol, talented and cute and everything. why does this happen so often when I find a new gen fav, they graduate ._. I'm so sad T_T

NMB is always like this. As soon as they accomplish that goal they were looking for they just fuck off to live with their boyfriends.
