Graduation announcements thread

With the exception of just a handful; Members that joined AKB between 2016-2022 are bound to watch their senpais and kouhais doing better.

 

I was just on lunch from work today when I got discord pings and twitter DMs from multiple people today. I can't decide whether I'm surprised or not. On the one hand, I really hoped that she would take off now after Neta Furi, but on the other hand, I've also felt that her efforts haven't been rewarded so she must have been frustrated, even if she's not voicing it.

Obviously I'm quite sad about all this. I really don't want her to leave the entertainment industry, but I don't think she's said yet what her new aspiration is. I'm quite convinced it's related to the announcement of disbanding all teams. Ran was drafted into K, so even from day 1 as a Kenkyuusei, she would have identified with the team.

My Japanese isn't perfect but I believe in her SHOWROOM after the performance today she said she'd like to continue being a performer.

 

Oh good, thank you for letting me know. That's great. I'm kinda hoping the reason why she is graduating so suddenly is because she has something else lined up already, then.

 

Some people are speculating that she'll want to go on Produce 101 since the application deadline is 3 days after her final theatre performance. However, I don't know about the details of how AKB contracts work since she will still be a member and participating in hanashikai until the end of July... She did say in her SHOWROOM as well that she's sad and anxious about the future so I don't think she made this decision light-heartedly

Before joining AKB, Ran-chan was actually more interested in just dancing, so maybe she can do something in that area. She's still only 19 as well so hopefully she should have a lot of chances still ahead of her.

Wow, what happened in TP??

 

It's 1st gen graduating. It seems most international sister groups have set contracts and after they expire, a whole generation graduates.

Nogi fans are saying this graduation announcement feels like a cover-up for an internal scandal. From twitter:

hayakawa seira revealed on her radio last night that nogi's live director said a lot of mean things to the members, its basically power harassment. the group has yet said a word regarding this matter but they announced kitagawa yuri's graduation today, seemingly to distract fans.
