[GUGUTASU] AKB48 on Google+

Visit Google+ and make an account. It's all self-explanatory and can be done in a minute.

 

I would make sure you read google's privacy policies before you sign up. The only reason I flag this as an issue is that the EU was challenging Google as their policies breached European law. That article is quite old, but recently, they have still being in the news for being fined millions of dollars for breaching privacy promises. All I would say is, make sure you know what you are signing up to first and make sure you are happy with that.

You can happily browse through Google+ simply by visiting your favourite girl's page. You can easily find these by googling "name google+" or using the official AKB48 Google+ Directory. There is also a "beginner's guide to Google+" at the bottom of that page...

While I do follow them on G+ I keep amazed on how many followers the top members gets.

I mean most top members, especially the Kami-7/8 like Yuko, Mariko, Tomo-chin rarely uses G+ and mainly cater to their old Ameba blog. Then there is Takamina who average one update a month if we are lucky...

Her being a dai-gensui (great marshal) of the entire franchise, Takamina's too busy to attend (I imagine her desk being piled up with day-to-day operational reports, and a huge schedule to fill) to social networking unless it's something official or something she really wants to get off her chest.

Furthermore, I feel that those pioneering mobile blogging services (i.e. Mobage) and Twitter -- with its ease of use and access -- are more often used first because of familiarity, even with G+ being pushed as an alternative; the last thing someone needs is yet another social networking site that one may not be interested in using at all (I'm juggling several SN accounts just to keep up with some friends).

Instead, the more interesting Gs+ are the ones belonging to less important but somewhat equally-talented members.

Noted that poor Momoka (0048's minor character Megu) is second to the last; for some harsh reason not everyone likes her (perhaps because of her oddball cosplays or those batshit insane stares into the camera).

Well following doesn't mean too much, now I think about it. I have all top members on my following list too, but I almost never check them because I know they are not getting updated. Milky, Akicha, W-Matsui, KitaRie are different matter they are among the most active on G+ and certainly for been selection-level members. Sashi also keep a nice balance between her old Ameba and G+

As for Takamina, even when she update it was on her No3b blog same with Kojiharu and Mi-chan though Mi-chan sometimes will respond on G+. But basically Mariko (and Aachan before) is the hub to keep track on all the 1st gen members.

Takamina definitely is busy but she could have update if she wanted to, heck, Sashi had challenged 100 updates, 200 updates, and 300 updates within 24 hrs for past three years and succeed in all of them, while in between concerts, show recordings and interviews. [shock]

Takamina is just not the technology type unless it comes to videogames. She and Kojiharu, they are just bloggers. But when she does update, it is almost always a nice message and a very nice read. [clap]

Jurina updates it pretty darn rarely. I would think that is the reason.

 

Also all of the older members got a major head start. Only 18+ could have profiles when it launched, so everyone that signed up to google+ to follow them pretty much followed everyone available as there wasn't as many members then.. and then a few weeks later they allowed younger members their own profiles, after the initial rush of people, and all the new members needed either found and added, or you needed the links to group add them all.

 

So Acchan is out from google, is she only using her ameba blog?

 

Her G+ account is still there since her page still shows up on my list. But she has always been one of those who caters to her old Ameba blog more than G+ anyway, so that is a better place.

I know she doesn't use it much but I wonder if she wanted to, does she still have access. I mean it's still UP.

Why didn't they delete it I wonder. I mean if she doesn't use it anyway it doesn't matter but the fact that it's still THERE after her graduation makes me confused.

Anyone know?

 

My guess is that they are still technically private accounts like other blogs are. They were just grouped together by management for conveniences and monitoring purposes. Like Ameba blogs, once they graduated the accounts simly turns back into normal private account for former members.

So it's just a delayed deletion than, too bad, even if Ameba is the one she really uses.

EDIT: Acchan's g+ photos is a 17.7mb (122 photos) of food and cats you may not want in your HDD.
