As 2016 coming to a close. Let's do the traditional Stage48 Hopes, Fears, and Predictions for 2017 =D

Hopes
1. Summer A-side with the girls dancing on the beach. And a dance ver. for it.
2. Kato Rena ranking at senbatsu
3. Team A 7th released as album or something
4. Mayu as center for summer single

Fears
1. SKE48 getting even more shafted.
2. Sashi applies for SSK having double amount of votes of 2nd place.
3. Election ticket a-side being some kind of "cool" song

Predictions
1. Jurina number 1 at SSK
2. Mayu / Yuki graduation and a massive send off concert.

 

Hopes

• I really hope this time, the summer single is a bikini single because I kind of miss it
• New members ranking Senbatsu in SSK
• Mayuyu gets No.1 (even tho she supposedly said 2016 was her last year in SSK)
• Better A-Sides
• New centers (maybe another Mion center single)
• D2 members get promoted to their respective teams

Fears

• Shuffle (even tho they actually need it)
• Mass graduation from the new gens

Predictions

• Yukirin / Miichan announce graduation
• Massive push for one 16th gen member
• Jurina gets #1 in SSK if Mayuyu and Sasshi don't participate next year
• Lots of graduations from 4th - 9th gen

Hopes
-At least one single really picks me up (i really dislike all of 2016's singles)
-The newly SSK senbatsu ranks are really pushed beyond.
-The 16th gen is NOT send to oblivion too early...
Fears
-Keep making the 48g bigger (points to STU48) just for the sake or keeping the sales stable...
--Related, most of those new members are simply send to oblivion...
-Those newly SSK senbatsu ranks receive the SATO AMINA TREATMENT.
-The things about MEX48 start making noise again...
Predictions
-The Graduation Train have no brakes!!!! (prepare yourselves)
-Another fan-favorite with a lot of fanbase will graduate.
-Sashihara will win again the SSK, now with a ridiculous vote count over 300k

 

Hopes:
More good songs like in early half of 2015
Reduction of member quantity to half so every member could get a decent screentime

Fears:
Quantity over quality

Prediction:
younger mid tier members like mako, juri, and komi would be catching mion and become akb48 core members

 

Hopes:
-Naachan centering at least one center before she leaves AKB
-Actual summer single instead of those Showa
-Mahohon ranking (very unrealistic but I hope so )
-Someone other than KatoRika centering NGT's first single
-YuuNaaMegu gets more recognition lol

Fears:
-Naachan announcing graduation and leaving not long after
-Huge shuffle and breaking up the members that work well together
-Sakura ranking in the Top 3
-Massive graduation from the lesser pushed members
-More 48 overseas groups.

Predictions:
-Jurina ranking first if the prominent Top 3 opts out
-Sakura ranking in the Top 3
-A Gen 16 member center a song
-Katomina or Roma centering NGT's first single

 

Hope:
BIKINI SINGLE!!!
Sakura 1st in SSK (Her vs Ju assuming others are opting out)
Mirurun in Senbatsu
Other AKB members filling in the empty SSK senbatsu spots (other than Mirurun), Mako, Komi
Rikachan ranks
NGT debut with a good concept and sales
The newly added gens getting popular
SKE gets a new show cuz seeing them now is just sad
AKB shuffle, esp moving around the aces (team 4 is too stacked up)

Fears:

Predictions:
Sasshi still in at #1, Jurina #2, Sakura #3. New entries: Mako, Mirurun, Nao, Komi, Mio, Sayaya

Rikachan ranks in NG being the highest NGT rankers minus Rie
Katomina centers NGT debut single
A not so high profile transfer to STU - possibly Myao, Shiichan or maybe Reinyan would take another transfer. Or even senior members from sister group.

Predictions

• Mayuyu, Yukirin, Miichan, Tanochan, Tanabe, Tomu, Mariyannu all graduate (w/Sasshi announcing hers toward the end of 2017).
• Sasshi and Sayanee don't enter SSK (Both telling their fans to vote for NMB48 (Sayanee) and HKT48 (Sasshi) members.)
• Mayuyu or Jurina win SSK (Jurina if Mayuyu doesn't enter SSK).
• Mayuyu 1st Album and Yukirin 1st Album get release (on the same day)
• Team 8 Shuffle (dropping them to 22 members) w/the Team 8 Kennins becoming full time members of that team (Yamada - A, Ikumin - K, Sakaguchi - B)
• NGT48 Kennins (Katomina (A), Rikachan (K), Ogino (B), Moeka (4))
• Myao gets transfered to STU48
• D2 Members FINALLY get promoted early this year.
• The return of the Summer single we all love (BIKINI!)

My Predictions on the Centers
47th: Kojiharu
48th: MaYuki (Our 16th Gen Ace will get a Ayaka/Rara like spot in the formation)
49th: Mayuyu or Jurina
50th: Naachan and Mion

 

Hopes

• 2nd selection for the 16th generation happens and Mega Yako and Yahagi Moeka get in
• More than half of 16th gens get promoted (including one of the above two!)
• AKS finally adopts 4K HDR, Dolby Atmos and DTS X
• Sasshi doesn't enter SSK
• At least one 16th gen ranks in SSK (and it also includes one of the above two!)
• Yuiyui Center for 48th single
• 48nin Senbatsu for 48th single
• Either Taguchi Manaka, Shoji Nagisa, Yamane Suzuha or even Yahagi Moeka (if 2nd selection happened) gets in 48th single senbatsu and one of them is in media senbatsu
• Latest Generation Centers for 48G Tandoku Senbatsu B-Sides for the 47th single (AKB: Manaka, SKE: Miyo, NMB: 557, HKT: Mocha)
• If Yahagi Moeka gets in, she would get the Rara/Aayan/Hana treatment but with a bonus of ranking in SSK

Fears

• Nomura Nao graduates

• Hirate Yurina gets a kennin in AKB

Predictions

• 17th generation auditions for those who still didn't pass the 2nd selection
• Either Minegishi Minami, Watanabe Mayu, Kashiwagi Yuki, Tanabe Miku, Suzuki Mariya, Tano Yuka or Iriyama Anna graduates
• SSK Rankers extended to 100, 20 each unit
• Promotion for all D2 members
• Tomu in 47th single senbatsu
• Either Myao, Ayanan or Mogi is transferred to STU48
• Yuiyui suddenly gets from unranked to senbatsu in SSK (it was last achieved by Ikoma)
• SSK takes place in Toyota Stadium

 

Ohh gosh gosh, as usual let's see what harebrained thoughts I had last year.

I got mostly everything wrong, but the important one - Naachan senbatsu - was fulfilled, so I'm pretty satisfied with AKB's 2016. They're coasting along having pretty much finally made the transition to what they are gonna be now, which is essentially a revolving door group without a fixed center and pushes for any girls that management seem to like for reasons obscure to us.

Hopes for 2017:

-Naachan stays in the group, and maintains her spot in senbatsu
-The 16th generation blossoms like beautiful buds on a dead old tree
-Give me a juicy skyandaru please~
-New stages for at least one group
-Sales stay solid and handshake interest goes up
-The sakamichi groups keep slaying
-Miichan finally freaking graduates
-AKB has another huge hit song like KFC
-Imochan (Naachan's sister) joins?!

Fears for 2017:

-Naachan graduates or her condition gets worse
-The 16th generation flop
-The skyandaru is TOO juicy and the 48G/some girl's image is permanently damaged
-No new stages at all
-Some old gens who should really go keep clinging to the 48G like to a life raft, never graduating
-Events continue to be few and boring
-China48...just...China48
-Sasshi wins SSK again

Predictions for 2017:

-STU48 doesn't happen
-No new stages, except the one promised for the sousenkyo winners
-No3b is officially disbanded with Nyan and Miichan's graduations
-A new perma-subunit rises up in place of all the defunct ones
-NGT finally gets their 1st single
-SKE finally gets their 2nd album
-HKT finally releases that dumb bug song they've been sitting on for months
-Another season of Kyabasuka Gakuen
-Management thinks up a fun new event...but replaces Janken with it
-The AKBINGO hosts change again
-ALL THE GRADUATIONS: Oya Shizuka, Nakata Chisato, Minegishi Minami, Sato Sumire, Matsumura Kaori, Moriyasu Madoka, Oota Aika, Kashiwagi Yuki, Iriyama Anna, Nakanishi Chiyori, Abe Maria, Suzuki Mariya, Tano Yuka, Kizaki Yuria, Iwatate Saho, Omori Miyu, Oya Masana, Takayanagi Akane, Inuzuka Asana, Takahata Yuki, Yahagi Yukina, Souda Sarina, Kinoshita Momoka, Yoshida Akari, Mita Mao, Ueki Nao, Tomiyoshi Asuka aaaaaaaaaaaandddddddd.... Hopes
-New fierce fight for the top of SSK
-The new gens are promoted in a balanced way
-Please just give us one stage.
-No more graduations from Team 8 this year please

Fears
-Whoever wins SSK wins by a landslide
-More former new gen aces graduate
-New gens are immediately forgotten
-Some of the aces of the previous new generations are just immediately dropped for the new NEW aces
-BNK48 and TPE48 continue in development hell and we never hear from them again

Predictions
-Continuing the trend of fewer singles per year (2 per sister group, 3 for akb)
-48 single wcenter with Mayu and 16th gen ace
-Shiichan transfer to STU48
-STU48 never actually happens

 

Hopes

• NO SHUFFLES! we need team solidaritylol total bullshit that old AKB used to have. and i love this team 4.
• D2 and few 16th Gen promoted at 2017 first quarter. teams are running out of member
• More unexpected Senbatsu rank-ins. Miion Naachan and Juri was unexpected for me
• DECENT A-SIDES. bring back those old AKB A-Sides
• A unique and new event. We are running out of excitements. not likely to be happen tho
• Naanya Center before grad. a send-off for our fallen ace
• Kojiharu grads without any send-off single. will be a waste
• A REAL SUMMER SINGLE. we need girls in bikini
• Miichan, Mayu, Yukirin grad/announce grad. it's time
• Team 8 disbandment. and make a new, normal-themed team 8 with 20ish girls, other girls transferred to other groups.
• Team 8 rep to Senbatsu. not likely, but ug is okay.
• Annin, Yuria, Rena ranks into Senbatsu. it should have happened years before
• Janken winner to Center AKB single, instead of what it is now, and won by 16th gen girl.
• Sister groups disbandment . for the lulz

Fears

• Sasshi won the SSK again, with enormous vote count
• Old gens not graduating yet. including 4th and 5th gen
• Another year full of crappy songs
• No new stages. btw where is the SSK price stage??
• Shuffles. a horrible shuffle

Predictions

• Sasshi won SSK again. please opt out, sasshi
• 47th single is Kojiharu send-off single. will be a huge waste, she doesn't even need it
• The SSK Senbatsu will be full of new faces. please come true
• A 16th gen girl and/or D2 girl got into 47th senbatsu
• Another team 8 push instead of yuiyui. and yuiyui push stopped, just like ikumi and nanami
• Miichan graduated by fall, Mayu and Yukirin announced their grad by end of 2017, one of them graduates before 2018
• Kitarie, Myao, a pretty big amount of NMB and SKE 1st gen graduates
• NMB to have at least two Singles not centered by Sayanee
• SKE to have at least two singles not centered by Jurina

 

LOL there's only one SKE 1st gen candidate for graduation: Oya Masana.

 

Welp i was thinking about NMB's 1st gen and randomly thought "Let's add SKE" lol

 

The only thing I will say is some kind of prediction? Well, perhaps it's not.

2017 will either be a really really good year or a definite bad year regarding my oshimen...

Hopes:

• 48th single with 48nin senbatsu
• Bikini single for the summer
• None of the singles scream "Hey let's dance together!!!" (KFC, Kokoro no Placard, Halloween Night, and now High Tension...)
• 17th Generation (in fact, have one generation per year now that 16th Generation matches with 2016)
• More team songs for B-sides (ex. 2013) or mix up the members into various units (ex. Mae Shika Mukanee)
• Unlike most people here... I want a mass shuffle with a lot of new kennin positions (no transfers to foreign groups though).
• More NMB48 members ranked in the election
• A new subunit with single where the members have at least some kind of connection (unlike Love Crescendo, which feels more like a 7nin Senbatsu than a subunit)... something like no3b or Not yet
• Sakura gets transferred to AKB48
• Return of Under Girls (for non-election singles)
• Sasshi doesn't win the SSK

Fears:

• Too many mass graduations
• Mmgt tries to experiment rewards with Janken Tournament again
• AKB48 sales drop dramatically (lower than KnBMB)... at this point they need to sell 1.100 million first day just to sell more than their 2012 singles (whose sales were considered mediocre back then). Just look at High Tension: 1.120 mil first day... 1.180 first week... that's a tiny 60k difference compared to UZA, four years ago: 0.884 mil first day... 1.128 first week... a 244k difference.

Predictions:

• Team 8 continues to get a LOT of B-sides
• STU48 doesn't happen
• TPE48 doesn't happen (again)
• Mmgt tries to push Myao out of irrelevancy... only for her to announce graduation (ex. Kishino Rika this year)
• Yuria continues to drop further down in the election

I know it's your hopes so I won't talk about Sayanee's grad single in AKB but Mayuyu haven't even announced her graduation and the 47th single is next...

I do want Michieda Saki to be 16th generation ace as well though
