Hopes, Fears and Predictions for AKB48 in 2008?

I thought this would a cool topic to discuss, it's pretty simple.



What are your Hopes, Fears and Predictions for AKB48 in 2008?


HOPES
New Unit(s) - I really really get the feeling that Natsuki, Noro, Hana and Ohori will make a unit after their radio show, I don't know why but I can see it happening.
Himawari to end/take a break and go back to Teams A and K for a .
Relasing the albums - Come onnnnnn, DO IT ALREADY.
Putting some seeds in Teams - Asuka and Amina are the two that stand out to deserve to be in teams, I'd also say Aki but she's goneeee.
A new single from Chocolove - With another Ashita style PV and no cheap shots at making extra money *cough*AlbumandDVD*cough*.

FEARS
Graduation - I'm sure it's going to come, I just hope its none of my favourites.
More shafting of members - They've did it last year too, but I'd love to see a member shake up in the singles.

PREDICTIONS
More SEED auditions - They're going to churn out hundreds of girls I'm sure of it.
Growing popularity - I feel like they're going to get a lot bigger, not massive, but much more well known.

Prediction:

After Himawari 2 and B3, they might just throw away the team A, K, and B concept and finally have the one big group of 48+ members they planned from the beginning.

Fears:

Tickets to performances getting sold-out at 5:30am to become the next trend after the long lines, lottery, and wristbands.

Hopes:

A kick-ass single for yume wo shinaseru wake ni ikanai, and also for heart ga kaze wo hiita yoru.

 

This thread is going to make me start biting my nails and getting nervous. I'm not clicking this one ever again.

My list of fears is too long

 

Ain't Sayaka and Sae close to graduation? Or only next year? [damn, even that is too close! What happened with the Tokyo Dome dream? Graduated members cast aside, total new members will perform, or what? :< )

Graduations - Again. A lot of members seem to be graduating lately, so I wouldn't be surprised if there were more.
More singles - That one's pretty much a given. XD

Hopes:
More albums will come out: Himawari 1 + 2 (both versions of each), A4, B1, B2, B3
More DVDs will come out: Himawari 1 + 2 (both versions of each), B1, B2, B3
A new concert tour (with corresponding DVD)
More press for the group
The entire team joins together (no teams)
More members get put in the spotlight
SEED will start filling in A and K

Fears:
More graduations (I'm guessing some less popular members)
AKB48 turning into more of a MoMusume (while I do love them, I'd prefer AKB48 stay youthful and a little less of a commercial product)

Predictions:
More units will pop out
More promotions

 

FEARS:
- more new units: quantity instead quality
- total commercialisation of AKB48 to their musical death, squeezing the now established AKB48 brand in favor of money, which means cheap songs, even cheaper pvs, ...
- a total musical change to meaningless mainstream-jpop
- Flooding the market with too many dvds, cds and merchandise with too high prices
- Acchan Graduation to do more cheap doramas


PREDICTIONS:
see FEARS (except the Acchan Grad)

lol I just wrote about this in my blog last night...

Here are my pedictions (more like hopes, actually)

- CD release of A4, B1, B2, B3, HImawari-gumi 1 and 2
- DVD of the Himawari-gumi and B3 stages
- Girls going bck to form teams, I don't think that they're going to mix everyone in a huge AKB48 unit, because it's really difficult to manage such a big group, members would get shafted, units would have to be bigger... I think that the stage pf their theatre would look WAY too crowded with so many girls. Also, each Team already has a defined style or "feeling" to it, and fans know that and choose the one they like the most for this reason, I think that's part of AKB48s appeal
- Another group like Chocolove (and Please let Korin or Maimai be in it...)
- More good singles for Chocolove

FEARS:
- More Himawari-gumi or that hypothetical All team fusion
- Acchan graduating, or Saeyaka or anyone, basically
- That all those CDs and DVDs of stages never get released anyway
- More cheap singles (I loved BINGO! and all, but for me, what really made AKB different from other idol units is that their lyrics got you thnking)

 

i'm bored.... so i decided to summarize things in this thread. presenting the results of our predictions for the year 2008:

oogoe diamond sealed their popularity. gotten bigger? yes. not massive? more like INSANE number of members.

No more lines, no more wristbands. The lottery is no longer limited to the entrance part, as it now covers even the acquisition of the tickets part. Sending mails to @akb48.co.jp is now a weekly or daily routine.

A kick-ass single for yume wo shinaseru wake ni ikanai, and also for heart ga kaze wo hiita yoru.
at least yume wo shinaseru wake ikanai made it as a B side song. heart ga kaze wo hiita yoru remained only in the himawari 2 dvd.

hahahaha, especially when we hear it from japanese fans. I don't know but I feel that their predictions almost happen in reality (hope, they don't make a prediction that AkiP will release a photobook hahahahahahahaha.........). I think we just let it flow and prepare for the worst thing that will happen in the future. that's the art of being fan

 

Let's look on the bright side: what positive changes occured in 2008?

-Oodles of DVDs
-Oodles of concerts
-A fair amount of singles
-More popularity
-More members
-More sub-units

I'd say it was a pretty okay year.
