The MTV Unplugged was great. The Nigemizu was the best...

 

That's the best version of Fingers Crossed. Barette is so good and I love that SayoImi performance a lot.

 

Yeah Nigemizu was my favorite. The extended Clair de Lune at the break was a nice touch. As for duet, Itsuka Dekiru Kara Kyou Dekiru with Kakki was my choice. Overall a great show. I wouldn’t mind if one Ikuchan’s grad concerts was in this format.

 

Ikuchan is really the goddess of singing (and piano too). Compared to her previous Unplugged performance, she has improved leaps and bounds. Back then she was already very good for idol standard, but somehow still feel a bit unpolished and occasional lack of support at higher notes. But now she can hit any notes high or low with so much ease and great projection. I can say she is amazing now even for professional singer standard.

I got goosebump with her cover of Laughter, especially when she hit that high notes...wow...just amazing.. probably my favorite even though not a Nogi song. I already like the song but Ikuchan's version make it even better.

And Gomen ne Fingers Crossed proves how much agility and pitch control her vocal is. I like Hashire Bicycle jazzy version too.

I like how Akimoto-san pointed out near the end of the encore, that graduation concerts are supposed to be about having fun and enjoying yourself but Ikuta-san was working so hard instead; the hardest.

Not to mention (correct me if I am mistaken) the 2nd/last day of the graduation concert will have a completely different setlist. Goes to show the amount of work Ikuta-san has put in to this. What an amazing lady!

Well hopefully it will be a different set list... or at least many differences. We'll see.

Let me see what I can remember from the first day:

• KidzuKata with Ikuta center? Yes!
• Sanbanme with Ikuta center? YESSS!
  • That Iku-chan chant in the middle and the dancing with each 3rd Gen? Loved it. And poor Ayatii!
• I see with Ikuta center? I guess so
• Tight Hug twice? Hmmm...
• Sort of weird version that Synchronicity started as a Ume center and finishing with Ikuta center

I wonder what song will come up for day 2

 

She's a real iron lady. Her first break was during the Under performance while I felt tired for her already after Sanbanme.

Performing Sanbanme for the first time since Momoko graduated, yeah I kinda like that girl at center. Nice choice

Why couldn't they just give it to Ikuchan if they're gonna do it like that.
Well some of the songs I look forward to, for sure Ikuchan would choose, haven't shown up yet so it'll definitely be a different setlist.

this time their kimi no nawa kibou hits differently, it leaves heart ache in my heart.. i feel like it's more saddened than toki wo wadachi.

 

Looks like there were only a few song song differences in todays setlist. Nevertheless, Ikuta's piano accompaniment are always a treat
