I watched the first episode of BINGO3 on the good enough subs backup channel, and it seemed like everything was really scripted. Was it just me, or is it generally heavily "guided"?

I just watched it today, I must say most of the girls looked very sleepy and low tension [hehe] I'm guessing this was shot during a weekend morning since berika(morning person) was one of the few that was awake

Hirate's face is too serious to Bingo's standard. I am feeling that she doesn't like bingo.

Hiragana is great. The more we see them the better. When they get their own unders, they will need a show of their own, or else we'll need a third K46 variety show.

Things have gone in a direction I did not favour, but from the start I wanted the two groups to be integrated into one. Whatever is done, the Hiraganas are too good to be kept out of sight.

I saw someone wrote it was filmed right after the HS event with the flare incident.

Very interesting. Thanks for the info/rumour.

I think you're right. She loves TV comics, but doesn't really seem to have the knack of making people laugh. This may be when she really feels like a 15-year-old and not a star. I'm glad they are developing people around her who actually like to do this stuff.

I think this show is always pretty much scripted. That's one of the reasons I prefer KeyaKake (which itself isn't unscripted). And with Hiragana just beginning -- and some of them saying on KeyaROOM they were very nervous -- I think a stiff first episode is to be expected. But the Hiraganas were going pretty well by the time they got to the number game. I think a number of them will suit this show well: Kage-chan, Mirei, Kumi, Mao-chan, Sarina (if she can follow a script)

And Memi seemed surprisingly enthusiastic in that ep. That would be even more surprising if they really did record it right after the flare attack, where she and Hirate were the two closest to the problem. Hirate, however, did look as if she was just putting one foot in front of the other, hoping to get through the show.

While it's never been publicly announced I'm pretty sure Hirate was the one the perpetrator was after, so it makes sense that it would weigh more heavily on her than Memi even if their proximity to the incident was the same. Being 16 and getting hit with the fact that she is the object of people's obsession and that obsession can pose a danger to her and those around her is a heavy dose of reality to take in.

No question about it. Perfectly correct. I was leaving that possibility open. But even tangential proximity would affect me.

Memi seems to be in a great mood these days. I thought she was very present and outspoken on KeyaROOM. Being friendly with Hirate obviously pleases her, but she seems able to suppress the fan in her and think of Yurina as a classmate. Maybe. I actually do worry whether Hirate is as comfortable with this game as Memi is (and as I know management is).

By the way, I also noticed what some people have said: that Memi's voice sometimes reminds one of Risa. When Neru said her pj's were cute, she stopped and said "arigato" in a way that reminded me of Risa.

Also on KeyaROOM, Sasaki Mirei (Mii-Pan) made a big impression. Her big face and huge eyes and relaxed, friendly attitude just suck me right into her patter. I loved when she explained that her weight was at its peak during the auditions because she had just come to Tokyo, with all its good food and lots of all-you-can-eat places. So she's now eight kilos lighter than she was then.

I think she isn't, but it is that dichotomy between the dour variety Techi, the contemplative interview Techi, the controlled genki of radio and behind the scenes Techi and the magnetism of the performer Techi that makes her so enigmatic and interesting.

I felt funny about putting them through this, but it sure made for a good way to see them all. Here's a page with a lot of stills, including all the members (and here's another). I personally always notice Memi (her expressions always seem to come naturally from the heart) but I think we got good images of all of the members, from Mii-Pan through Kage-chan, Manafii, Aya and Sarina to the wonderful MeiMei and even to gutsy Katoshi, who pushed herself through this and probably gained a lot of confidence in her own stamina. Except for MeiMei and a couple of others, I'll bet they couldn't have done this six months ago, before they had to go into training for their own tour and the upcoming whole-group tour:

And I agree with a comment I read that all of Kanji Keyaki couldn't have done this. Pe and Uemuu would have dropped out, at least. Good on the Hiraganas for rising to the challenge. Then again, I think they're almost all beasts, with high capabilities in various directions.

This "Hell Week" episode is quite amazing to watch, with all the funny trivias of the members. Yes, it is time for the Hiraganas to get proper exposure. I think they're up to the challenge.

    Kudos to everyone, particularly Katoshi.

After I watched ep. 02, I got inspired by how they want to beat their senpai. Hiragana add the 'zaka' (slope [climb]) characteristics of sakamichi group to Keyaki. Since kanji's popularity rise is so sudden, it's not like they're climbing a really steep slope. Hiragana bears that value.

And I was astonished by how capable Hiragana is in adapting to variety easily.

@RedBug -- Notable comments. From the start, over a year ago, I have seen Hiragana as amazingly capable and interesting. Maybe just my prejudice, having gotten to know them in their Showrooms, but it's how I felt. And their Omotenashikai in October showed them already able to sing and dance pretty well, and do creditable versions of the Kanjis' hits.

They have been kept back to let the Kanjis achieve their heights, but it has given them time to become more and more accomplished and at ease with being idols. And they seem to have no hesitation doing all the things idols do. Mii-Pan is like their conduit to the soul of idoldom, being such an idol fan, and having had her own mid-teen idol career before.

I am hearing a bit more frustration now -- comments about "only" having three songs in the Live -- and I think they are proudest of their own one-man shows. Their tour continues in September, after a month of tour togetherness with the Kanjis. I imagine we will get more Hiragana in the August tour, with three songs from the new album (including the mixed group doing Neko no Namae, which is so good it could be a single).

personally, i don't think the endurance test really helped me to understand the personalities of the Hiragana girls. perhaps if they'd done something with a bit more inter-member competition they could have shined more individually.

i might rewatch some of the Hiragana-centric episodes from Keyakake, just because i really don't know the members much at all.

I enjoyed the episode in part because I already knew the members. I started out thinking it would be boring, but I was riveted the whole time, somehow. Your opinion makes perfect sense to me, though.

In order to help people who don't know the Hiraganas, I've put together a list of links, starting with my own K46 members chart, which gives a pic and info about each of the 32 members, including all the Hiraganas.

Hiraganas are featured prominently in eps 1 and 2. And the KeyaROOM episodes give good (loosely scripted) conversations among them.
