Billboard's tally now has Fukyouwaon at sales of over 800,000! "Steady sales" have put it 20th for the most recent week counted, with sales of 3604 for the week, putting it at a total of 800,527 units sold. Oricon has it at 736,264. The differences have to do with the two companies' different ways of sampling stores and counting totals. Billboard, which uses the Soundscan system, probably comes closer to actual units moved. But Oricon is the long-time standard.

Over the weekend, Fukyouwaon was 13th on the Oricon daily chart -- eight weeks after its release.

    1. @ForrestFuller -- Thanks for the continuing tracking of sales. 3K a week. If they averaged that until the end of the year, they'd reach 800K. Balancing decrease over time with increases when the album and the new single come out, perhaps they will actually get there (not that they aren't, in physical fact, already there).

    2. Saturday national handshake event pairings at Makuhari Messe near Tokyo. Hiragana in green:

    By lane:
1 -- Koike Minami, Sasaki Mirei (both from Kansai)
2 -- Habu Mizuho, Saitou Fuyuka (both 19 and from Tokyo)
3 -- Sugai Yuuka, Saitou Kyouko (both capable talkers, and both a bit ponkotsu)
4 -- Watanabe Risa, Kobayashi Yui (wear sunglasses against the glare of their beauty)
5 -- Shida Manaka, Sasaki Kumi (sounds like fun)
6 -- Nagasawa Nanako, Takamoto Ayaka (both natural fishers of wota)
7 -- Harada Aoi, Iguchi Mao (I expect the older Hiragana here to put the younger Kanji at ease)
8 -- Hirate Yurina, Ozeki Rika (seems like a comfortable pairing)
9 -- Moriya Akane, Kakizaki Memi (will they arm-wrestle? or embrace?)
10 -- Satou Shiori, Yonetani Nanami (I think they may be kindred souls, both of them alert and critical and a bit frustrated)
11 -- Suzumoto Miyu, Higashimura Mei (I think the fairly athletic Mei could become a good dancer, too, with Miyu's help)
12 -- Watanabe Rika, Ushio Sarina (the least talkative and most talkative members of K46)
13 -- Oda Nana, Katou Shiho (I see few points of contact, but they could learn from each other)
14 -- Uemura Rina, Takase Mana (put those sunglasses back on)
15 -- Nagahama Neru, Ishimori Nijika (Neru is full-on tanuki magic, but Nijika may be developing her own magic now)

Kageyama Yuuka is missing, I guess for school. And Imaizumi Yui is still missing -- although there are indications she is expected back at least for the August live, if not before. (Neru spoke of "32" members performing there).

EDIT: This and the Sunday individual handshake event are the second-last handshake event for the 4th single. The last will be an individual handshake event in Yokohama on 9 July, just ten days before the release of the album.

The first application period for the Album's handshake events starts at 3pm Thursday afternoon -- under three hours from this moment.

Hey can i see the link where you get the list of pairings for HS?

I checked the website and a few matome twitter as well as a few Japanese fans twitter but couldn't find the information about it. I think you might be mistaken and see the prediction posted a few days before?

Yes, I was fooled by a 2channel post. Not the last time, I suppose. Anyway, here's the real list:

Makuhari Messe national handshake event 24 June:

lane 1 -- Hirate Yurina, Kakizaki Memi (the two youngest, friends at school)
lane 2 -- Oda Nana, Shida Manaka (power-packed personalities)
lane 3 -- Nagahama Neru, Sasaki Kumi (responsible yet funny)
lane 4 -- Sugai Yuuka, Kageyama Yuuka (the two Yuukas, old and young; both from Tokyo)
lane 5 -- Katou Shiho, Sasaki Mirei (Miss Easygoing and Miss Together)
lane 6 -- Saitou Fuyuka, Moriya Akane (more power)
lane 7 -- Ishimori Nijika, Nagasawa Nanako (why have I never seen them together?)
lane 8 -- Kobayashi Yui, Ushio Sarina (silent and gabby; why do I feel they will get along well?)
lane 9 -- Ozeki Rika, Koike Minami (somehow they don't seem a match)
lane 10 -- Suzumoto Miyu, Habu Mizuho (dancers, short and tall)
lane 11 -- Saitou Kyouko, Takase Mana, Takamoto Ayaka (banished to a fun all-Hiragana trio)
lane 12 -- Uemura Rina, Yonetani Nanami (critical thinkers, old and young, super-cute and super-smart)
lane 13 -- Satou Shiori, Harada Aoi (Tokyoites immersed in their education)
lane 14 -- Watanabe Risa, Higashimura Mei (maybe being with Risa will give Mei a bit of the prominence she deserves)
lane 15 -- Watanabe Rika, Iguchi Mao (the two eldest members of Keyakizaka)

Lane 1 will be a madhouse. It always is with Hirate, but this time even moreso.

According to the staff, nobody was hurt.

The pairings didn't actually matter 'cause they're so far with each other so there's no chance for them to interact with you simultaneously. And the handshake felt like only a second because there were too many people.

Well, the arrested suspect had a person in mind to say, but considering that many girls (including Techi, who just turned 16 today) are not legal adult age (20) yet it does make sense to not release it publicly...but surely that was clearly a security breach. I mean, what in the world is going on???

Thank goodness no one was really hurt, but that sure caused a bit of a concern...

    Another pretty terrible rendition.
I guess it's probably just another once-off, someone's birthday or something.
