I was thinking. Their return will be on the live events? That could be a wonderful gift for the fans. In all the events you always can find the fans (especially Aotan fans).

    I really miss Aotan.

Aoi making a return, even just to greet the audience, at the 3rd anniversary live would be perfect.

With only 612 HS slots, this single probably doesn't hit 1 million at all.

There’s also the National HS, right?
Dunno if Hinatazaka will be there though.

Still, the million is a nice badge but the profits are what’s important. And I’m sure Keyakizaka selling 800k is making a bigger profit than AKB selling a million.

IDK know how National HS figures in to the total if at all, I do know Kuroi Hitsuji is -250 HS slots from Ambivalent and -220 from Glass, that's a drop of about 30% and 25% respectively. Conversely while we don't have final numbers it looks like Kuroi's first week sales will be down less than 10% from Ambivalent.

Here are the sales figures for the week, day by day, for Ambivalent (left) and Black Sheep (right)

They show something very hopeful: sales were down at first, but sales for the last three days were higher than for Ambivalent. Handshake places were down 29% from Ambivalent. Tuesday sales (i.e., orders up to Tuesday) were down 10%, as were Wednesday sales. Thursday sales were down 5%. But sales for Friday were up 10%, for Saturday up 20%, and for Sunday up 17% (their highest Day 6 ever, as @ZenigameX has pointed out). This looks to me like becoming quite a long seller.

Final weekly sales were 771,135 (expressed as points). This means that for the first week, they were only about 40K down from Ambivalent, not the 57K they were down after the first day. Down only 4.9%.

Actually, going by the straight sales list rather than the sales-plus-factored-downloads list, the weekly total was 750,382. So they were down 7.5%. And a later post by @ZenigameX points out that varying handshake schedules -- which would lead to increased sales at different times -- complicate the whole comparison with Ambivalent. But I'm still encouraged, lol.

In the Utacon Black Sheep, is there a tear falling from Techi's eye at the very end?

I've looked at the full video, and it seems possible to me. That would really be getting into a role. source

As I have mentioned in first day sales post:
The trajectory can't be compared to Ambivalent since national HS for this single falls on week 2, 3 and 4. Week 5 will show weaker sales but still has momentum, while Week 6 will have the final boost from their Anniversary activities. Sales will collapse after that.

And also you can't compare the 771,135 points to Ambivalent since Ambivalent's figure doesn't include digital download and streaming (Oricon only started this beginning 2019).
    This is how it's calculated:
Physical sales: 750,289 (1 point each)
    A-side digital sales: 26,700 (1 point per 2.5 sales)
Digital single (whole bundle) sales: 5,725 (1 point each)
    A-side streaming: 1,014,079 (1 point per 300 streams)

Total = 770,074. The difference from 771,135 is from digital sales + streaming of all B-sides (as individual), which are too low to enter the charts to know the numbers.

@ZenigameX -- Thanks for the info! Wonderful precision. And I remember your previous post, which is right on so far. Too bad Oricon couldn't find a way to normalize the figures so they could be more easily comparable to previous times. Not easy to do. But things are still looking good. I'm not expecting a million, but good sales nonetheless -- and you never know. And "collapse" is relative. SaiMajo is still selling, creeping up toward SekaAi.

The total physical sales are still available and those can be compared to previous singles.
