Koike Minami (Miichan, Miiko) / 1st Generation

I was sooo happy for her position in Futari saison, and now, for this new single, I'm surprised because that is my last preocupation. I mean, I will be the most happiest person in the world if she is senbatsu (considering Hiraganas could be included).

Althoug I would love to see her in the second row

 

Yeah I know what y'all mean.. she was always pretty but lately she is on a completely different level of pretty than the Koike"Big Wave" Minami of yesteryear lol... Her short hair just suits her so much, far more than the long hair did.. plus the change in confidence in variety shows is making her look more appealing as well... She used to be quiet, in the shadows and would cry at anything potentially negative about her....now she's up front, participating regularly and even putting on manzai skits (which was utterly hilarious on the last keyakitte and would have been the best segment if it wasn't for Naako)...

^ I feel even if they added Hiragana into a single she's pretty safe, she's cemented herself as a permanent member, maybe not front row but def always have a spot like an Ito Marika or Inoue Sayuri

She used to be a member I didn't care for and now, maybe 3 months ago, she easily hopped into my top 10 Keya's

I was reading about the Governor of Tokyo, Koike Yuriko, who has created a political party (the "Party of Hope") to challenge the LDP in the Japanese national elections in two weeks. She appears to be the most popular national politician in Japan right now.

It turns out that she is from Hyouga prefecture, like Mii-chan, so I looked around to see if there might be some connection. There are plenty of Koikes around Kobe, it appears, but if Mii-chan really is from the town of Nishinomiya, on the outskirts of Kobe, as one fansite says, that would mean she comes from the next town to the politician, who is from Ashiya. Could they be related? Not by appearance, I guess -- but Koike Yuriko is 65 and Mii-chan not quite 19.



It would be amazing -- in either a good or a bad way -- if it turned out that Mii-chan and a new prime minister were related. But Mii-chan's intelligence and overall ability mean that I would not really be surprised.

 

I think they just have the same family name. They probably mentioned in an interview or variety by now if it was true, and if it was true, fans probably would have discovered it by now.

There are plenty of Takahashis in my dad's home town but that doesn't make them related.

 

@ukifune wow interesting theory u got there but the chance of Miichan related to the governor is really really slim. maybe the wota detective will find out more info. #NeverGiveUp

Yes, this is the most likely. As I said, there seem to be plenty of Koikes in the Kobe area. But I'll still keep my eyes out for any discoveries from the "wota detectives". (@CutePanda: lol)
