Watching these, thinking that they could cure my feeling of loss, I become sad instead and miss her even more. Get healthy kid. You aren't even halfway towards your dream yet. Show us these smiles again
Kubochan for Young Gangan no.16 (August 17th 2018) With some previews 空と同じ雨模様だったボクの心も、キミが隣にいるだけで快晴に変わる。 Even when my heart has the same sign of rain just like the sky, with just being next to you, it will change to a nice weather. 「浴衣、似合うかな...?」なんて恥ずかしそうに視線をそらすキミもかわいい。 "Do I look good in yukata...?" as you said that while shyly averting your gaze, you are still cute. そう。いつだって、キミはボクの光だから。 Right. Because, you will always be my light. (don't mind me, I am just trying to cope while practicing my reading. Deliberately avoiding the neighboring thread because I will just become a party pooper)
This one is pretty emotional. I wonder if some of the girls will be inspired to join the audition for Nogizaka in let's say, 5 years? for 5th or 6th gen? Newest LINE Clova CM if the video does not show watch the video here Kubochan speaks in Miyagi-ben (Miyagi dialect) and Clova understands it. She orders Clova to send a message to Manatsu: いつまでもながよぐしてけろ Itsumademo nagayogu shite kero "Let's be friends forever" I don't know much about Miyagi-ben, but from Twitter I see some comments that the dialect Kubochan uses is now only spoken by rural older generations. Still cute though
Is there information about the cause of her hiatus? I'm worried right now, after Zuumin of Keya graduation because of health issue. And for Kubo having health problem seems unimaginable, as she is former rakuten cheerleader.
Perhaps health problem is the easiest reason to pull-out whenever a member goes on hiatus. But knowing Japanese work culture, that reason is still convincing (?). Anyway, they never tell what kind of health problem in particular. But I have to admit, now I'm also worried. Still positive but can't help but think about it. I'm a fan of both Hime and Zumiko. Until Kubochan returns and at least a year passed with no other issues, it will always worry me.
We'll never know for sure. To think that Kubochan isn't the first case brings some questions forward. - What kind of sickness is it? physical or mental? or both? - How severe? Is it life threatening? Or has the risk of compromising the idol career forward? - They are young, full of vigor girls, and are known to have good physical ability (Himetan the protein-dol, Kiichan who could bend a pan barehandedly, and as @MasToppu said, Kubochan who was a cheerleader. Or Zumiko who was already an idol before joining Keyaki). What could possibly go wrong? - etc. Some things are definitely left hidden. And maybe, maybe it's better that way. Knowing the track record of previous health related hiatus cases, I can't help but to think the same. Even if she returns, I can't relax until I am sure she's in her best shape once more. Changing topic, Zambi (or Zombie?) twitter account posted this offshoot photo of Kubochan, brushing her teeth while preparing for the filming And over analyzing things like I am, I reckon that toothbrush is a Lion Systema Compact 4-column A41 don't mind me One more, I compiled something.
So today, on August 23rd apparently the annual Seventeen magazine event, Seventeen Natsu no Gakuensai will be held at Pacifico Yokohama. Seventeen model Konno Ayaka posted this in her instagram story yesterday saying, "Finally tomorrow! ST School Festival! For people who come to see us, please call our names a lot, and shake a fan or board for us! We will do our best to look for them. And, for people who can't come there will be a live stream on the ST channel so we will do our best to make it fun! Please also check the talk room!" Other ST model Sugimoto Airi also posted the same photo, with caption "Waiting for it" That particular someone is in this photo. Does this mean she will appear too in this event?? Nonetheless, I hope she's healthy enough to do her activities. edit: The event is added to her schedule for today.
I'm not so sure she is back -- at least doing Nogi/idol things. I wonder if it was an obligation for Seventeen magazine? I also wonder if modeling is less stressful than idoling? Either way it's good to know that she's still around.
right now, im pretty sure girls who get into nogi after 2nd gen is not aiming to be real idol, instead, modelling is their aim.
It is. I also think it's good she didn't disappear completely, because it might be harder to return after a while. That's quite a generalization.
Yep, until she starts doing Nogizaka activities again I still can't hold my horses. About modeling vs idoling, I reckon it is. Performance practice and handshake events are the most tiring parts of idols, in my opinion. Not to mention handshake is something she maybe has to take a break from at the moment, as there were indications that some of those who came to her HS lane tried to proactively hurt her (feelings, not like what happened to Hirate). Still, I hope Kubochan is really shaping up for her return. There is an announcement a few days ago that Kubochan will be having her special event for 20th single (the one where members play games and chat with fans) which was supposed to be held on August 18th with the other members, to be scheduled for later date. I suppose it means she's ready to meet fans again, to some extent. I wonder if this is a good or bad thing. Because for me, if they actually do have that intention, it is fine. Because you won't be an idol for long, unless you debuted early. Like ten years tops? Thinking ahead, it's plausible for them to find something else for a long term assurance. Modeling is one option, because from there it can open possibilities that usually regular idols don't have. Then again, it's an if. I updated the gallery with press photos of Seventeen Gakuensai 2018 and managed to compile something more recent.
