I'm trying to catch up with the show, (with what can be found).
I'm a bit confused, in some episodes, there are 12 spots, I thought it was 7 from the beginning

Also If I get this right:
Season 1 was to form the group and units
In season 2, units fought for their place order in the 2nd single
What is the season 3 goal ?
The show is still running right ?

 

Season 3 is a battle among the newly chosen 2nd gens, same format as season 1. IIRC this is for the 5th single. For the 3rd single, members from various units were chosen using the senbatsu format used by 48/46G, in the 4th single it was back to the units battle.

Around the same time the season 3 aired, they also aired another show on Ameba tv, between the units of the 1st gen.

Here's an interesting news about Akimoto Yasushi's involvement with Last Idol nowadays.
Lately there's a tv drama that Aki-p was highly involved in producing. That drama is Anata no Ban Desu. And that drama managed to receive phenomenal last episode rating of 19.4% despite its broadcast slot on 22.30-23.25.
It's said that "Anaban" was a hit because Aki-p had a meeting with producers and screenwriters every week after the broadcast, giving detailed instructions on story development and actors' behavior.
Aki-p said that he have been receiving tv drama proposal from various stations lately, but hear this. It looks like he aren't planning to do dramas in the meantime because he's now focusing on Last Idol! Just like when he involved on Anaban, he did frequent meeting with Last Idol's producer and staff.
I imagine this started from Otona Survivor and all that walking art project. And that was the time I got hooked deeply and hopped on Last Idol's train. Coincidence? probably not. Good job so far Aki-p!

Some perspective about Seishun Train MV compared to Otona survivor. It reaches 1 million views in just 20 days compared to Otona Survivor's around 2 months. It also already got 11k likes compared to Otona's 7k, despite its 200k short in views.
