An update on my online handshake situation.

On the fortunemusic website, my name is written as Lastname Firstname in Katakana. They require a passport and a drivers' license for ID verification. However, my passport reads Firstname Middlename Middlename Lastname in Romaji, and my drivers' license is Firstname Lastname only. I've sent them an email whether my name needs to be changed or whether my ID's are acceptable, including images of the IDs.

I was told they will be accepted, I just need to show those two IDs. Seems to be going well so far.

Also, I ordered Weekend Citron on CDjapan before I realised I could apply for online handshakes, so my first copy of the single has arrived today ^^ I will be receiving two more from Tenso, but I'm currently letting them sit in the warehouse so I can send them together with my copies of Ne mo Ha mo Rumor

This morning I decided to try with the Fortune Meets app to see if I could have the online talk with Naatan which came with the DVD signing. As I said upthread I'd had some issues with the app as a foreigner with Sakamichi group talks earlier this year, as had many other international fans, and maybe it would be the same with =LOVE members? Anyway I decided to go ahead with the purchase as I'd never managed to win Naatan's autograph with CD signings.

The good news is that I got past the ID check with no problems! When the talk started Naatan greeted me with my name which is always very nice when an idol does that and then I after I said 'Konnichiwa' I told her in Japanese that I was from England but she didn't seem to be able to hear me very well. As time was short I shouted 'England' in English lol and she replied with 'I love you!' in English. I replied with 'I love you' as she signed the cover but already the end of session warning was appearing (I thought I got 30 seconds but it must have been 20) so really there was only just time left for me to thank her and exchange goodbyes.

So it was maybe a little disappointing with the sound issue (in my experience Fortune Meets isn't as good with sound as the AKB48 WithLIVE app) but it was still great to talk briefly with Naatan and AFAIC it's a bonus anyway, I really mainly did this just to get her autograph. I'll post a picture of the DVD when I get it and I feel more confident now about online talks with =LOVE members, I'll apply for some tickets for Mirinya when the next single is released.

Are there no dedicated fansub groups for =LOVE? I'd love to see "Ikonoi, Dou Desu ka?" getting subbed.
The girls deserve some exposure to fans of Asian music from all over the world.

 

I wanted to sign up for the DVD slot but I remember it saying "Japanese only" so I didn't go for it However, seeing that it worked out okay for @David61 , I'm now even more excited and relaxed about my upcoming online talks!
