Yes, That was great. For me, I had heard of this "big Japanese group" but never really checked into it, until "Sugar Rush" at the end of "Wreck-It Ralph". Then I was hooked.

 

I find that quite funny because they're complete opposites

 

I voted for long black because I want to see how far can she go with the long hair ^^ I miss it

 

I also voted for long black hair. But I guess she would look good with all of them

 

I have not gotten that far into AKBingo (still at the Iiwake Maybe era watching 2-3 episodes a day)

 

She's worn them all, and looked good in all of them. It's a winner no matter what.

For what it's worth I don't think she was saying "そう、そう." Which would be "right, right" in response to the fame question. They even put it in English on the screen as "so-so", as in she's saying she is only *somewhat* famous.

Either way, as someone who did not know the first thing about idols when I watched it as a bit of Japanese language practice, Minegishi impressed me with her charm and patience on the phone with somebody who may as well be babbling at her. She hashes out a plan with the limited English she has, agrees to meet Amber in person, and was a good sport upon finding out she had been pranked (although I guess years of AKBingo conditions you for that sort of thing!)

It was then that I wanted to learn more about idols and found out in this thread about Mii-chan's iron determination, her recovery from scandal, and her willingness to speak candidly about how much she's struggled, and how much it hurt her to see all the girls she came up with surpass her in popularity. "Watashi wa Watashi" broke my tear ducts in a way very few songs have.

And that's why, at least for the moment, Mii-chan is my 48G oshi.

btw does anyone have either of miichan's photobooks (south and watashi wa watashi)? i was thinking of buying one of them today, and since they were pretty much the same price on ebay with shipping, i was wondering which one you guys think is a better investment.

If you want to know about her life and her thoughts, then watashi wa watashi is a perfect choice

 

I still haven't bought Watashi wa Watashi, and I really want to.
