I'm probably starting to loose my memory (and I have seen this before) :/ but ... Mii ... 27th ... T-Shirt for Miichan's birthday? or just something else entirely? did I say I like Sahhoo? ow, and I carefully cut the 'memorial photobook' from the manga magazine with Miichan's latest grafure (I don't have a flatbed scanner, well, I do have one but it's about 20 years old and SCSI .... anyway I had to make do with my phone cam) https://imgur.com/a/VdEPVtM
More 'Cooking with Miichan' I think she might have a new camera is she's contantly amazed by the quality and is using her iPhone 11 as secondary cam (btw, there was a tweet this week by Miichan about het iPhone displaying a warning about moisture in the lightning connector .... related?) ow, and she's sporting twin tails, as an aside, come to think of that, you seldom seem to see western woman do that, too childish?
Where I live, wearing two pigtails is considered childish. When they are teenagers At 13 years old, they dress and put on makeup as if they were adults. If they carry have two pigtails, it is because they are she's disguised or they do a cosplay but in daily life they don't carry it. The same western society, gives more priority to children who become adults quickly and then this same western society is scandalized to see japanese women for pretending to be teenagers.
The two pigtails in Japan is an icon of kawaii culture, it even has its day called "Twintall Day" which is celebrated on February, 2.
And Good Twin Tail day (いいツインテールの日) is 11/11. I think good comes from いい which looks like 11 11. However, that is probably more a thing on SNS. However, as to February 2, "since 2012 Twintail Day has been officially recognized by the Japan Anniversary Association, which keeps track of such commemorative days."
Here in the Netherlands (and probably Belgium as well) 11 is 'het gekkengetal', lunatic number ... so 11/11 is the date when Prince Carnaval is elected and the carnival season starts Furthermore it's Saint Martins day on which children in Roman Catholic communities visit houses with a lantern, singing songs and getting candy (does that remind anyone of Halloween? probably because there's the same kind of connection as between Sinterklaas ( 5 December) en Santa Claus (christmas) ) (btw, I lived in a small 'city' with Roman Catholic roots ... the village 5km next to it was protestant ... we had St. Martin (and candy) ... the neighboring village absolutely not .... but the last 40 those borders do have faded ) btw ... いい indeed means good (which of course you knew) or yes ... depends (as so many things in Japanese on the context) last year an elderly Japanese lady tapped me on my shoulder on the escalator and said ii kamera desu ne because I'm lugging around my Nikon D3 with the rather large 28-70 lens, so people (outside Japan) have accused me of being a papparazzi :/
I've never left Europe and I wear twin tails sometimes (although, obviously not to formal things). I do however thing I dress fairly young. I've been able to drink for 7 years now in my home country and I still get asked for ID lol
And that for an idol who never really saw herself as a true idol .... because true idols were Acchan, Tomochin, Nyan-nyan etc. to be honest Miichan appearance changed a lot over the years ... (and it seems she had some extensive dental work having done) btw, later today 21:30 JST (14:30 CET) Miichan will join with Yukirin on instagram live (Yukirin's instagram I think) ... yep, Yukirin's instagram ... and they are making sakura flowers
New Make-up video Miichan has a notebook she references when doing this 'kawaii'/pink makeup and I hear Tomochin being brought up, so I assume she took notes from her. She also tweeted about the headband earlier this week, if I understood it correctly she bought it for her wedding. (and that statement in itself could lead to all kinds of speculation, but I'll just assume she did not buy it recently ) correction: she talked about the kashusha in instagram
to brighten the day a bit an old Team 4 Oshi performance it's kinda obvious that Miichan always likes performing in a greater setting, but the whole team is enjoying themselves so much, there should be some kind of law against it that's not Team 4 ... that's Team Genki I've seen Team '?' Oshi before e.g. Team B in the Tokyo Dome concert ... and it's mostly a bit too chaotic for my taste .... but somehow it suits Team 4 with that overload of energy
It must be from 2014. Miichan was captain with Yuria as co-captain. Mako and Moechan had left for Team K and Takashima Yurina hadn't graduated yet. http://stage48.net/wiki/index.php/History:_Team_4
Sigh. Irreplaceable human being right there, a large part of the very fabric of what made me first like AKB48 a decade ago. I miss her already.
I mentioned Miichan had some extensive dental work a few posts back. apparently it's been a year (or two?) .. and Miichan is happy enough with it to celebrate it. I still kinda miss her bunny teeth though ... not that she doesn't look fine now, I just liked her 'hamster' look, it was cute, now she's pretty well, I think I didn't ... translation of the instagram post says 'a wedding' ... not 'my wedding'
