Maybe it's because I was traumatized by MNL48, but that was a lot faster than I expected! Also does anyone have an idea of what percentage of the Indian population (or just Mumbai) has internet access?

Did some Googling, and only about 50% of Mumbai's population has internet access so it's possible that even though they haven't been doing much digital marketing they've been doing a lot of offline stuff. Billboards, posters, commercials, etc.

 

I just hope this won't be as confusing as whatever's going on with MNL.

Dialects? You mean languages? Then, yes.
If I remember correctly, BNK's application forms were also in English (at least for the 1st gen auditions).

I don't have Facebook so it just comes up as "Page isn't available". I did notice that besides Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook the links don't work. I'm curious as to why make a SoundCloud though.

Don’t live in Mumbai so I can’t be sure about offline stuffs but rest assured, their target applicants will definitely have internet access so I don’t think that should be a concern. I’m actually surprised they haven’t done much digitally to advertise applications for the group. Especially considering none of the social media sites seem to work either???

Me too. And I don't know why they keep spelling it as "MUM 48" instead of "MUM48".

 

Well a lot of kpop groups have a soundcloud for when they release mixtapes, or covers so I guess they'll do the same ? As for the pinterest it might just be because it's kinda similar to Instagram or because they share fan contents ? I don't know but I like that they are trying new things
