And, as you can see, she is closer to getting passed than to catching up to the next rank ahead of her.

It isn't bad for someone who hasn't been in the senbatsu for 3 years. But Shino has never been in a senbatsu at all except for the latest AKB48 B-side HKT song. For whatever reason, her numbers took off like a rocket after she did and Mashiro graduated.
Also, it is also sad that the two girls right above Murashige were basically her sidekicks in the old Odekake days. (At least ODA hasn't passed her yet.)

And things aren't looking any better on Twitter-- she is ranked #24. Though the next 8 above her are closer than the 1 behind her in that case.

Most of those members created their accounts early last year though, whereas Murashige only created hers this year I think? And her Twitter got created at the end of last year. Plus if I recall Murashige's Twitter got in a bit of a pinch because of bots and fake accounts when it was created (some even had more followers than hers lol) so she had to change her username a lot of times. So I think it's still quite a feat she managed to get a lot of followers despite being out of Senbatsu for years.

Actually, most of Shige's followers game within the first 2-3 months of her making the account and then sort of leveled off. Shino and Emily are gaining followers at a faster pace-- I am not exactly sure why because they neither post often nor do many Instagram lives. And Bibian is gaining followers at roughly the same rate, some days slower, some days faster... but between her online activity rate and PD48, it is surprising she isn't gaining faster.

It seems that since she didn't enter the election, Anna is not going to get to go to Nagoya Dome to support HKT48.

Instead, she announced that she is going to be doing a Showroom while watching the election tomorrow night-- so a play-by-play commentary by Murashige Anna.

This year is going to be so important for so many of those who have been important friends for her over the years. A lot of them are going to be hitting huge milestones in their career... or missing them by such a small margin as to be heartbreaking.

Either way, Anna won't be there to hug them.

The way she tends to go about these things, she probably figured the company would send her there regardless and only found out today that she isn't being sent there to cheer for the other members and this is just her way of being able to do this. She doesn't even seem to know what time the event starts right now.

If she is both watching the election and doing showroom, she isn't going to be doing it from her home in Fukuoka. She only does Showroom from her cellphone from Fukuoka, her parents didn't really leave her with the tools to do it properly. That probably means she'll be doing it from Yamaguchi or she has some other set up available thanks to some other member (i.e. maybe from Sashi's house like earlier this week?)

I can't believe it almost took 15k to be able to rank in this year... :shocku:

Maybe sitting this one out wasn't such a bad idea for Aanya

Yeah-- Bibian and Maria are slightly more popular than Anna right now, because they do Showroom almost every single day while Anna appear like... average of once a month, maybe...
Well, even though Bibian voted for herself more than 130 times, neither of them managed to rank in.

Then again, Ueki is less popular than Anna and ranked in and Fuchigami Mai is also less popular, but she has some ultra rich fan(s) who give her a high rank every single year and keep her a permanent member of the senbatsu.

Though, really, when talking about those 5, they all fall between 25000-35000 fans, of which who knows how many they are the #2 or #3 favorite of and so aren't going to get those fan's votes.

So rank and popularity don't really seem to coincide perfectly.
The more dramatic one was, Mio's poor rank this year which is just completely baffling. By all accounts, especially given all the "I am graduating" signs she is giving off, she should have been HKT48's #2, but instead she got a really poor rank compared to what.

I guess what I am getting at is that Murashige ranking in this year was not at all a sure thing despite there being 100 ranks and only 2 of which got taken by Bangkok and only 2.5 of which got taken by STU48 which we can expect to really flourish over the next year.

But, if she works hard this year and stops being lazy and complacent like she has been, she admits it herself, since 2014...
Well, maybe she can come back stronger next year. And she can finally break that #67 rank that has been haunting her for years.

    .................

Also, Elena, some of your translations there are well... quite wrong. A lot of them just say members names.
Don't rely so much on Google/Bing Translate alone.

I see. Thanks for the help. Twitter has changed to Microsoft translator already.
But for the errors, I will removed it.
But be warned of my mistakes in her Instagram posts, because they don't allow me to copy it to another reliable translation app. Or maybe I haven't figured out how to do it yet.

But I wished AKS released a free ssk voting app. So that I can work my magic on it.
But then, which HKT48 members are popular with the public?

Oh yes, to break the #67 rank, not only her, but the election committee must be committed and had to work together too.
But who's inside the election committee?
Anybody inside this thread is in the election committee for Shige? I would like to know how and where they get the CDs from. I have a few tips on that though.

Well, in terms of election committee, there is this:
    https://twitter.com/murashigeanya

The main guys are Yuji (https://twitter.com/gomenntaiko), whose twitter you repost here all the time, and Mogusa (https://twitter.com/mogusa69)

As for how they got the votes the last couple years, they generally collect money into a bank account set up specifically for the election community and then use that to buy voting tickets off yahoo auctions and send them out to fans.

Although, last year, this method only accounted for 1/10th of the votes that were cast for her. They collected 778,880円 and made 1,356枚 votes.

Of course, this doesn't account for mobile votes made by members before sending it to the community nor handshake tickets they bought invidually that came with votes. But, there are only 300 people in that community and she sold more handshake tickets this year than she did last year it seems (she actually sold out slots this year, but some of those were on her birthday, so... that could just be tickets that would have sold on other days shifting to that day.).

Nonetheless, that is still the most organized group to support her.

Definitely more could be done to try to get people on board.

We used to have a whole English webpage for her, but it was only ever getting 20 people visiting it, the same 20 people who were already her fans.
On Google+ we have a couple big fangroups for her, but two issues occurred... first, inviting everyone who might be interested just got a bunch of spammers who would put up inappropriate content and the mods just didn't want to bother curating the group, second.. Google+ in general is dead as a site and even if 1000 people joined, no post was getting more than 5-7 engagements.

That is why it is so fascinating when you have cases like Ogino Yuka where people took a girl who didn't even rank in and just stuck her right up on the kami7. Disappointingly, though, it seems like the answer is that a single millionaire bought a system that set up a ton of spoof fanclub accounts specifically to votes for Kashiwagi Yuki or Yamamoto Sayaka and had 50,000 accounts set up and a method to auto-vote using them. Which, if you think about it, means that these systems are accounting for the majority of the votes for everyone who gets into the senbatsu as opposed to anyone who decides to vote for any member on any given year. And maybe that is the real reason KojiHaru dropped so hard when she decided to pretend she wasn't running and then ran as NyanNyanKamen instead.

Anyway, the previous people using those machines, in fact most that do, decided not to try to spam the system in case they got caught and the company might do something. But, the Ogino Yuka guy decided-- screw it, let's just spam them all on day 1... which is why she went from rank out to #1 on day 1. And then once she achieved that and was in the Kami7, the whole company shifted all of its plans for NGT48 and has since made her center, given her a spot in other AKB48 senbatsu, featured her heavily on AKB48 programming and otherwise put tons of effort into making her a real star... to the point that even without those 50,000 spoof day 1 votes, she would still be in Undergirls this year.

Unfortunately, that absolutely is not an option for Murashige Anna or almost any other girl in the whole company. Well, unless Sakura declaring she is quitting means that there is such a system devoted to Sakura that can now be turned into one to vote for Anna. Though we don't have the money for it even if we could identify the individual who owns it.

As for there being a free voting app that you could "work your magic" on?
Well, we had that two years ago to select the 48 girls who would appear on UtaGassan for new years. Sayaka won it and girls who don't even usually do well in the election like Ichikawa Miori got really high ranks. The fact that it wasn't repeated again this year tells you how they felt about how it turned out.

If there is a free app, the magic I'm going to work on is basically how these people did to Ogino Yuka. It's not really a system, it is a strategy. One group or one group of accounts vote at a specific time or hour. If there is a free app, I can use my Google+ account to link it to the app. Since I can create tons of Google+ accounts, hence, it is possible. And yes, maxing out the number of votes they have in the account and waiting for the next day ones.

But by the way, can they do a mass order of the albums by buying it from music album shops? Hope this tip helps. But then, the price will be too expensive, right?
But if she sells out a handshake slot, is it a good sign?

oh, I knew exactly what you meant. If there was a free voting app, I could emulate endless android accounts on my computer and use them to vote. You aren't the first person to think of this, it is obvious what everyone would do if there was such an option.

In fact, that is exactly why the overseas mobile app wasn't allowed to be used for voting. One could just emulate hundreds of mobile phones and even if they have to pay 300 yen per an app, they could use some sort of prepaid card and sign each one up for 1 person's mail at a random email address and then vote for only 300 yen each.

It is a pretty obvious thing to do, and naturally everyone would have taken advantage of the strategy.

Even if someone owned a music show and could preorder the albums at a reduced price, the price is only going to be reduced by so much and it isn't going to be less than the 600 yearly renewal fee on an AKB48 Fanclub account or the 700 yen that voting tickets go for on auction sites.

Selling out handshake event slots are good. But you only need to sell 200 tickets for that slot to be sold out. So, if you think about it, 200 is hardly anything in terms of sousenkyo votes. Even with 100 ranks, one needs 14,500 votes just to be in the contest at all.

And, like I said, the first slots being sold out were on her birthday, so it could have been shifted from say... sell 100 on one day and 100 on the other day to selling 0 on one day and 200 on her birthday. We don't get to know what percentage of any given slot has been sold, just whether it was sold out or not. She did end up selling more slots than that later, I wasn't carefully following it.

She has sold out slots in the past, and it is almost always in Osaka. I don't know why, but she is super popular in Osaka compared to all other HKT48 members. And I don't think her having been an NMB48 kenin for a year several years ago alone explains it. Whenever she is on stage in Osaka, the chants can be deafening... and the one time they did a concert in Yamaguchi, Sashihara joked that it was basically like being at a Murashige graduation concert.

Anyway, believe me, anything you could think of to artificially inflate her votes has already been thought of and implemented.

What maybe isn't being implemented to its fully extent is organically increasing her fanbase. It seems a lot of her old big fans have been kind of disengaged recently... maybe if everyone banded together and started spamming magazines, radio shows, tv shows and such with requests to feature her, it might work out better.

I think I found something which everyone can spam and request them to feature her,
TC Candler. Go ahead and let's do it!
    These are the rules.
But do write her name in English if you nominate her. And the sentence must be `I nominate (her name) from group, country.'

    This is a good idea!
But you should have linked the YouTube video:

    ...............

Update: Murashige just now hit 17000 followers on Instagram. A lot of HKT48 have been gaining followers on Instagram and Twitter really fast since the election ended, and tonight one of her friends in E-Girls posted an instagram story that contained Murashige's Instagram handle. That seems to have put her over the top.

While she is still #22 in terms of Twitter followers, she is now #15 in terms of Instagram followers. But those above her in the rankings all have nearly or above 18000, so the next milestone won't mean much.

While this probably isn't going to help her get back into the senbatsu, afterall Tanaka Natsumi is #12 in terms of followers and didn't get a spot in either the AKB48 coupling song or the single, it is an indication that people are paying attention to her.
