The rules are completly different from last year
From what I understood during the live:

    The battles :
    Ai (love)
The contest is tied to NMB48 27th single, it will serve to select it's senbatsu members (1~14 ) and coupling (15~24). Hence the voting ballots with the 26 single.
Intermediate ranking on 02/23 and 03/02
Final ranking anouncement on 03/27, 17h30 JST at ROHM theater, Kyoto
The day before (03/26) will be Umeyama Cocona's sotsugyo concert

    Mai (dance)
Team N and Team M will battle each other
The Team BII members are spread into 2 groups and will confront each other

    Un (chance)
All the girls are spread into 8 groups (A to H), not sure what is happening.

    J (games) <=== didn't get this part.

There's an official site (in OP) with clearer informations

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
More so, the current shows final performances:
    • 02/01: FRONTIER (Osaka tamashī, sutetara akan)

I had a feeling 48G would start holding 'mini sousenkyo's for different sister groups instead of the huge one, but i like the way NMB is doing it. Plus the fan voting alongside it being 557's graduation single will mean the sales should hopefully increase a solid 100k! Nambattle 1 made the group stronger despite many popular girls graduating and i feel this one will fully integrate 7th and 8th gen into nmb more which is wonderful! Exciting times ahead!

It seems that the CD voting ballot is valid for both the 27th single sousenkyo and the Joshin Commercial, you can also vote with YNN paypal, NMB's various mobile services (japan only and region free apps), fanclub and mobame.
For the Joshin Commercial, note that Nagisa and Kojirin are not eligible as they will already be in the commercial. The Joshin vote is for fans to decide who the 3rd girl will be to join them.

How ironic that NMB is the first sister group to do a “mini-sousenkyo” and yet NMB fans were always the ones who placed the least weight on sousenkyo among all the groups.

Now that NMB will hold a SSK, and we know that this is mostly a popularity contest, I wonder who everyone thinks in gonna win?

It's gonna be quite tricky since so many members have graduated in recent years. I'm thinking Nagisa, she seems to be the most popular in NMB right now, and she also ranked the highest in the last 48G SSK among the remaining NMB members (but that was in 2018 though). This is where we might finally see her centering an NMB single.

NAMBATTLE 2 (Senbatsu Sousenkyo NMB48 ver.) :hehe:
I actually like it. But I prefer 1 vote -1 person, even not free :chuffed:

How can they boost sales with 1 person 1 vote? It's meaningless to do that.

Agree, but I don't think this is the best way to boost the sales... but I like the idea of having a real popularity rating in the form of a competition and a massive show.

That is the only way Yoshimoto/Showtitle can think about. Right now NMB48 is the group which has worst sales on single among AKB48 Group. Even NGT48 did better than it.

    My predictions:
    - Nagisa will win and center a single for the first time
    - Siyeon and Wada Miyu in the Senbatsu.
    - Yuuka is usually at the back row but she has a strong fanbase so she'll probably rank in top 5.
    - Mikana in top 10 (despite the scandal she's still very popular)
    - Rei, Karin and Keito in top 7
    - Some 8th generation girls in the Undergirls

Honestly I see Mikana in the top 5 easily. Nagisa will do well but I have an inkling she wont win it. I can see everything else in JoKawaruso's post above happening. My bias really wants Aika, Yuina and Shinshin to make it in!

While I think Nagisa will be the one to win it, here are the other 6 members that I think will round up the top 7 (in no specific order): Yuuka, Kojirin, Mikana, Chihiro, Rei, Keito. And I also hope Karentan ranks well. But yeah, basically agreed with above posts.

I'm guessing that Uno Mizuki will rank in. The last time NMB had an election-ish, she won that.
