The IFPI, the international arm of the music industry, has just recently announced that they're setting an aligned global release day to Friday. Yes, that's right - FRIDAY.

This is different than the Tuesdays we're familiar with, or in Japanese standards, Wednesday (Tuesday's the "furage" day).

So, what do you think about this change? How will Japan respond - will they comply to this new global release day standards? And if so, how will the Oricon charts shape up with this significant change of how music gets released?

Well, I'm talking about this in general, not just AKB48.
