We will relive the concept that we had when the theatre opened.

We also expect the percentage of people winning shows to be higher if we schedule more, better balanced shows.

Lastly, about the announcements that were scheduled to be made at the Yokohama Arena concerts, we will be able to make them soon, so please wait just a little more.

(I used "announcements" plural form because it's pretty vague as he says, it could be more than one, but he definitely didn't say there WILL be more than one.)

So instead of saying "Sato Sumire, Miyazaki Miho and Kasai Tomomi will be absent" they're listing the whole B + 3 kks.
But wherever you look at it from, this is a good old B show. I don't think reshufflings or dramatic things will happen. The shows will continue to be designed for Team A, K and B, it's just that now they're allowing for them to be performed by more than 6 replacing kks - and when more than half the performing members are not team members they're preemptively trying to avoid fans going "wtf this is not Team *insert team letter*".

according to the recent togosaki post on the official blog, some new changes to AKB's formation were explained. the reason for this announcement being so abrupt is due to the current gossip.

Starting from the basic principle, we have no intention of "dismissing" anyone, not even one member, unless they provoke problems so big they would require "dismissing" at all costs.
This year, even from last year, I have often mentioned on this blog that we want to "go back to our starting point".
The "starting point" AKB48 is aiming to get back to is "Idols you can meet".
At the moment, like you all know, the media senbatsu members have drastically less chances of appearing in theatre shows, and the theatre is mostly for Kenkyuusei shows and SDN48 shows.
Of course, thanks to Kenkyuusei and SDN having so many shows, we are growing up with big vigour, but we are not able to arrange the Team shows that should be at the core of "AKB48 Theatre".
As a result, the attendance request for those Team shows we perform once in a while is over 100 requests per seat, and there are too many people who have never attended a theatre show.
In order to improve the current situation we have no other choice but reform the teams, and this time, from the 72 members AKB48 is made of, including Kenkyuusei, we will chose 16 members per team and they will perform as
"regular members"
from now on at the theatre.
The members who don't make it to the regular teams will be
"under (substitute) members"
The kenkyuusei members will be kenkyuusei just like they are now, and will continue improving themselves aiming to be a regular member one day.
Also, it will be possible for Kenkyuusei to be promoted to under team.
We will change to this system and arrange theatre shows with a good balance between all the teams, and I think that this way it will be possible that
"we go back to our starting point"
which is
"idols you can meet"
who work hard and sweat everyday at the theatre.
Moreover, since being a regular member won't be a permanent position, I believe this will increase friendly competition between the girls that will make them grow up.
At the moment, the environment AKB48 is operating in has changed so much it can't absolutely be compared to the time when the theatre had just opened, and things that weren't obvious before happened, while we were more and more in danger of things that were obvious before becoming impossible.
So from now on we will do our utmost best in order to be able to show to all the fans a situation where girls for whom AKB is the most important thing "are always doing their best efforts to chase their dreams", polishing the feeling they felt when they first stood on a stage.
AKB48 will keep running, so please keep watching warmly over us.

(the second part is about "can kks have birthday shows?", therefore not relevant, so I didn't translate it.

So to reply to a comment I've seen before, 9th gen kks can be chosen for regular, while 10th gen~11th~12th after the new auditions can only advance to under atm.

We should be thinking that the 'Regular Team' won't be media senbatsu, right? Like, these are girls that will focus very much on the Theater?

I'm confused... is this a good thing or a bad thing? xD The "regular team" thing doesn't sound bad, but "Under Team" seems sorta pointless.

I have no idea what to feel right now. Someone tell me how to feel about this.

That's what I was thinking. If they're going to be performing "as frequently as possible", then the more popular members can't be chosen because they'd be too busy. Natsumi hasn't missed a single stage show (according to her Japanese wiki page, anyway), so she's a possibility. :3

Actually, if they're going to be performing all of the time, will the girls chosen be able to do any work outside of AKB? ._.

^That is what I'm wondering.

The first thought would be that the "regular team" will be formed by the classic senbatsu, but that wouldn't change the things as they are now.

Now, I can't see Acchan, Yuko and others under an "Under Team" label, either...

I'm confused... And I don't like this.

media senbatsu girls are out of question. maybe they will include some middle-senbatsu members to give the team some popularity to not create a mix of UG and TG that wouldnt sell. all the 9gen girls are kinda like, confirmed for this. (PLEASE)

I HOPE THEY GET A NEW STAGE. i doubt it though. they are most likely going to be rehashing single songs and using the units we got in the singles as well (FIRST LOVE, Team PB/YJ, Tobenai, Jibun Rashisa and probably the Zenza Girls songs as well)

and i dont really see anything wrong about this... its the best thing they can do. its true that it sounds lolz that acchan and the others will be Under Members but its not even relevant to them since its not like they will actually ever participate as unders of the regular team anyway lol.

girls that 100% sure wont be included:
- Maeda A, Oshima, Shinoda, Itano, Watanabe, Takahashi, Kojima, Kashiwagi, Miyazawa, Kasai, Takajyo, Minegishi, Kitahara, Akimoto, Sashihara.

girls that probably wont be in included since they are part of a subgroup:
- Nakagawa, Hirajima, Kikuchi, Kuramochi, Yokoyama.

girls that are probably included:
- 9 gen.

I think part of the reason my head exploded as I read this was the terminology used (by tgsk). I think it makes more sense if you think of the "regular" team as a "theater" team (priority on appearing in the theater) versus the "under" team, which I'm thinking of as the "media" team (priority on media appearances). Just cause, yeah, like Ange said, it sounds weird to hear names like Acchan and Yuko listed as "under". XDDD

Yea, it's very shocking

But if it is in the way you explain it, then it makes much more sense.

Someone should advise tgsk to stop using the word "UNDER" for basically everything. It's confusing.

Teams will still perform, kenkyuusei will still perform... and "regular team" will perform? And they'll probably be background girls...?

It would be stupid to have the frontfrontfrontgirls as the regular team cause obviously they have so many jobs outside of the theatre.

It seems correct for me. I don't see how this would be a bad idea. They're just giving the oportunity to those girls that only have the theater performances to perform more ._.

And I think it's pretty obvious the regular team is going to be (mostly) formed by 9 gen & all those girls that don't have much (or any) work outside akb.

So the teams A,K and B remain, but this new 'regular team' will fill the holes of certain team members on their shows? Even after the 16 members chosen, the under team would consist of 56 members.. so graduations are ahead? What is AKB48 !?!?

Team K

Team RS/KKS
SDN
Regular Team

I'm interested to see what kind of Stage they'll do. A whole new one? Random old songs? Use the RS's songs?

so "Under Team" would be every official member (the 56 girls) that isnt part of the Regular Team plus the possibility of some kks that could be promoted to Under Team as explained already.
