    According to this article the first international 48 group will be born this 2011 in Taiwan, a new TV show will be created to choose the first generation of taiwaneses 48.

    The group's producer plans to increase AKB48's profile overseas, including Taiwan, where the girls will make multiple appearances on television networks in a concerted publicity blitz.

    Additionally, a new TV program kicks off there this summer in which a "localized" version of the group will be created.

    The show will document the process by which ordinary young Taiwanese girls are chosen by audition and groomed to become pop idols, a system that will promote the group's music and other endeavors.

    success?? Its hard to tell now, but its not a total Long Shot. We are talking about a concept very different to MM chinese version.

    Starting the expantion in Asia its wise and logic, the 48 concept could maybe dont fit in the western countries so easily but Asian countries have much better chances of success.

    Is this even good or it'll be bad for 48 groups in the future, currently i think we already have enough 48 groups in the entertainment industry....oh my...guess we'll just have to wait and see don't we? :hmm:

    Though I think this should be taken with a REALLY big dose of salt. I mean... it's an English language article that isn't even specifically about AKB48. That's how they'd announce it? Really? I won't hold my breath...

    Eh, not interested. For some reason C-pop groups (even with groups released from Japanese companies like H!P) come off as corny and half-assed. Please continue to make AKB48 better instead of throwing more money to projects that may just die.

    Of course, I'm just a purist and I'm still annoyed at NMB48 or whatever. Meh. :yikes:

    I am afraid all this sister groups may, in the end, hurt the main AKB48.

    And I already almost know nothing about SKE or NMB because I do not have enough time for them ...

    But whatever, they 'll do as they please ...

    Thats what i was thinking too, but i guess we will just have to wait and see...


    Taiwan seems like a good place to start. But untill they can start a group, no boyfriends and all the trimings, in places like London (LND48), Gaborone (GBN48) or Buenos Aires (BUA48??) i'm not 100% convinced.

    So stupid...I don't even know what to say. Why must aki-p be so greedy. he already has the best group in akihabara no need to waste time and money on stupid shit like this

    at least give the groups more unique names instead of 3 letters + 48
