Just goes to show sales don't mean sh**, because i 100% think this is the best 48G single of the year. Great song, b-sides and music videos.

While the sales are somewhat dissapointing, I dont think its time for a crisis just yet. Let's wait and see how the 3rd single fares, to see if this "downgrade" was just a one time thing or if theres something to it. If by the next single sales continue dropping, then its time to panic.
I can't help but wonder how managment is reacting to this, will we be seeing some changes by next single?

STU sales are kind of iffy too, looking at the HS results. I'd say its a passing grade if they somehow manage over 100k. Won't be surprised if its under 100k either.

Plus NGT is in its 2nd year and currently has 24 members and they reached ~140k according to Oricon which is the lesser count of sales reference. Also the December madness of 48G singles dishing out factor...oh and don't forget this is Niigata too not like big cities, sales to population wise is still pretty damn good in my pov, maybe some people just have too high expectation?

And what also matters is the SSK rankings anyways, so maybe fans are saving up for another NGT whirlwind lol

Yeah sales nowadays is never equivalent to the quality of the single they include. But tbh I think Anklet has pretty good songs but ok MVs unfortunately, and this NGT single has ok songs but hella amazing MVs which makes the songs amazing too.

The Rika-centered SNS senbatsu song deserved an MV more than her collab with Los Indios. The live performance in the theater was great. Interesting choreography.

What happens to Rika's HS sales? Has she gone boring and salty or what?

Maybe her fans think that they better save money for sousenkyo instead.

this is from 1st single thread (week 3 sales) and they are selling better in the 2nd single but overall still not as high as 1st single.

NGT48's 1st Single (Seishun Dokei) (3rd Week Sales)
    Week 3:
    5,175 (173,134) (20th)

Well 1st single was their debut single, so obviously there would be hype and expectations and excitement. But then as shown on NGT48 no Niigata Friend #50, a little girl likes Seishun Dokei and Moeka chan.

    I actually like the 2nd single's A side a lot more.

My CDs just arrived yesterday at work but by the time I got to the office (as I worked from home), the mailroom was closed! Only got them today, and they do look elegant. Very different from Seishun Dokei with the Red popping out at you. This was more subdued elegance. Weird thing is, my order for the 50th Single has not arrived and it was sent out earlier!

I got pics of Mofu, Ayayan and Ayakani.

In Japanese reaction sites the most common response to the drop in sales is that they want NGT48 to be like other prefectural SGs and have a cute Niigata girl (Okappa, Hinatan or Katomina) center NGT48 instead of Toyama and Saitama girls.

And these are the "nice" comments.

    If only!
Specially since her solo doesn't have choreography.

Gatanee and Hinatan slay my life!
I really hope they make Marina captain of Team NIII or G(atanee).

In Melbourne, Australia and Ayakani was the one I liked out of the 3. You can have Mofu for Hinatan, if you like.

The reaction sites are full of antis, some saying the group should be disbanded because of poor sales. But then, there are some who reiterate no matter where the girls come from, since the girls are in Niigata, working in the interest of Niigata, they are just as good as a local. The people of Niigata has accepted the non locals as one of their own. They can see the girls working extremely hard for Niigata. Seeing how NGT48 no Niigata Friend is getting syndication in Toyama (Tulip), which is essentially a TeNY program, indicates a certain level of interest in Niigata externally.
