Single NGT48 7th single [Ponkotsu na Kimi ga Suki da] (2021/12/22)

I hated the song. But i will give it a try. Usually NGT releases good songs with boring MVs. So…

 

I like the song (much better than Awesome imo), and I think the MV is pretty good too (I've always loved school themed MV for 48 group).

 

NGT48 are following STU48 steps, by promoting their prefecture.

 

But they've been doing that since before STU48 existed...

 

Guys the views are very worrisome. Even morning musume is pulling up better numbers on YouTube.
But 12k in 12 hours? Yikes.

 

All I have to say is that this A-side song is great & somehow triggers a nostalgic feeling. Kawagoe Saaya & Morohashi Hinata really stand out even if they aren't even at the front.
On the other side Tsushima Yunako is invisible, if we include the fact, that last senbatsu she got a lot of screen time.
Maybe someone could send me a screenshot of her in the MV, so I can asuure myself that she wasn't ill on the shooting day or something.

Well, that happens. I bet, they will still be able to pass the 100k (& later 200k) somehow.

I'm convinced that since this huge Yamaguchi Maho scandal happened NGT48 died in a way.
Many fans stopped supporting 48G, especially NGT48.
And it's Import to point out that the new management still tried to push them somehow. This year they released two singles instead of one, but it doesn't work.

48G could rise a lot, if they transfer every single NGT48 member to another 48 group (the same thing is optional for SKE48 actually...) & let NGT48 disband.

 

32.684k by now (23.10 CET) Like @Dokuro3313 I think they'll make at least 100k, which seems solid to me after the scandal and its aftermath.

For the single itself:
First NGT single I watched by its release -and I really enjoyed it! Personally liked the long intro. IMO MVs are supposed to promote the song and visualize its meaning/+story. If a longer intro helps building it up and get a better understanding, I'm absolutely fine with it. Just don't waste the viewers time (with boring, maybe even non-related stuff), what they didn't from my perspective.
So, it wasn't the best I've seen this year from an idol group, but not the worst either.

 

Yeah that ain't gonna do anything at this point. It's far too long since then.

 

Tell this to NMB48 ?

I liked it until I realized at the second half of the song, that it was Ogiyuka's graduation song. I think it is way too late to release a graduation song for her, because she already leave 1,5 months before this singles release.
Also including scenes from Ogiyuka's graduation concert ruined the MV's atmosphere somehow.

But omg, I could not count the amount of members who looked absolutely amazing, NGT48 still has got all the pretty faces of 48G.

 

This is the song all the members sang to Yuka at the end of her graduation concert. In the first half all the messages in white are also addressed to her (with various forms of address, e.g. Yuka, Ogino, etc.). The song was a surprise, so having her there for the recording of the MV would have given it away (though I wish they'd worked something out after she'd graduated.)

It's a bittersweet farewell ode, finished off nicely by including the first time they sang it publicly.

 

It's a really cute song and MV - it's been a while since a grad song made me feel something. Bitter-sweet feeling, which is unfortunate. I truly was rooting for her (and NGT as a whole). I hope the girls can take this moment and try to ride a second wind.
