We can't predict the future. We don't know what she's planning to do yet or if she'll find her way being in Show Business. I said the same thing to the other graduating girls' threads.

Is the law even that serious like underage drinking tho...from what I heard if police found you out past curfew, they'll just ask you questions and escort you home so it's nothing serious. Ofc with idols needing to show their "dedications" to their works, and many older fans that are more conservative in thinking so this might seem like they're slacking off to go out play at night but I don't think that play a big factor.
Both Miki and Owada were pushed but they flopped with all the big expectations. Miki was pushed with musketeers but Mako and Nana are doing much better than her...I felt really bad seeing her cry at election..... Owada got pushed alot but Mion is pushing way ahead of her and Komi is rising more than her now. They probably see the signs and decided to pull out while they're still young and can focus on school. The scandal could just be the straw that broke the camel back than the main reason.

That's the thing, they saw their pushes were not working, they saw management had lost any interest in them and now they have over 20 kouhais between draft and KKS? They were gonna be stuck in the theatre.

What I find a bit sad is how the theatre is actually disregarded as some kind of 2nd rate thing (except for Yuiri).
Like... I feel we're seeing such a high number of graduations from the new gens because the girls are not seeing "inmediate success".

Miki (and Naanya) could have had a good (better?) run in AKB had they decided to stay and played by the rules.
I mean, look at Shiichan, a KKS over 2 years and got selected by management 9 years into her career.
Look at Myao, who was forgotten for years just to be pushed out of the blue just for being fun.
They've worked in the theatre all this time and I don't see them unhappy about it.
Heck, their push is done (again lol) and they show no signs of leaving.

Miki could have been the same if she truly loved the group, IMO.

The problem with those examples is that both are not with AKS. Myao and Shiichan have outside jobs (heck, Shiichan have appeared in prime time quiz show multiple times!), while Naanya and Miki I would assume would be stuck with AKS forever until they graduate and I don't think AKS would be interested to push both again unless the fans interest is high enough after whatever punishment the management give to them is over. AKS them self have their hands full to push around 200+ members (all 48G members minus NMB). Since they are still young, probably it is for the best to graduate now since they still have time to start over vs being stuck in AKB. Unless they do want to be a theater girl.

But the theatre doesn't even pay alot of money. The whole "wanting to be idol bc they love being idol~~~~~~♡♡♡" is cute and all but it's still a career that takes up alot of their time from school, and they're going to need to pay the bills. It's understandable if they're being realistic and think of their future.

A lot of people seem to get the idea that if you try hard, you will succeed regardless. This simply isn't the case. Success in the 48G is 90% of the time down to luck, that is, if the majority of the fans like the personality and looks that you just happen to have (and if you get a push), if not, then don't expect to succeed. Even before the scandal, Miki and Owada didn't have a large fanbase and even if the scandal didn't occur, I couldn't imagine any of them ever getting a senbatsu position in a song again (just like 90% of the other members). The only thing I could see in AKB that could useful to Miki was AKBINGO! but she hasn't starred in that show since the start of November, which is quite a big gap for someone like Miki. (Which I think might be a management punishment).

As other people have stated, these two girls are still young and at school so they are probably rerouting their priorities to different career paths because the 48G might not have worked the way they wanted it to and why should they have to settle? Other girls may be fine with it (which is completely fine, everyone has different ideas of happiness in life) but maybe these two want something different than being a theater girl (which again is more of a hobby rather than a career due to the lack of progression/advancement available).

You know, I feel bad for the theater system as a whole.
Once considered as the lifeblood of 48G. Now being treated as stagnant career sinkhole.

And.....Nah, I wont talk about it much further. Successful career is all that matters now, for the girls future and for us fans. Right?

Remember that AKS is pushing Kojima Natsuki again, and she doesn't have an agency. So Trinu has a point there.

Anyway, if Miki wants to stay in the entertainment industry, she should join another idol group. Look what happened to Aisako Miyu, Sano Yuriko, Kanazawa Yuki and Ota Riona. They're now doing better than when they were in AKB/NMB.

But it's not like going to the theatre was the only thing they were gonna do?
Maybe for a while (as punishment), but they still attend HS, they would get back on AKBINGO, they might grow up/slim down to be perfect for gravure (look at Mirurun and her sudden boom) and so on.

Calling it quits when things get a bit tough... well, it's not something that would make Takamina proud. :^^;:

Oh, well. It is what it is.

They may have.... They may have..... They may have..... Or they may not.

Again, you speak as if those things were assured and would definitely happen and maybe your right, maybe not. If Miki and Owada could see the future then yes staying would be the most logical choice IF what you said is true, but with the new introduction of the 16th Gen (which is a very large gen) these opportunities you speak off are becoming less and less available. From my perspective, I can't see them making a come back so at this point I would call it quits also. There are times in life when you need to know when a battle is lost and to move on and find glory elsewhere, can't win them all I'm afraid.

Im sad to see Miki leave but I'm sure wouldn't have made this decision unless she and her close friends/family believed it to be the right decision, so I we all just have to respect that.

@Lt-weetabix and I said that as well.

But if the first gens had the same sense of defeatism, Miki (and Naanya) would have had no group to join in the first place.

It's just two ways of looking at it.
On the one hand, they gotta look after themselves and be seeeeeerufiiiish (Acchan dixit).
On the other hand, it seems a bit ungrateful from them to just give up when things get a bit bumpy.

    Again, what's done it's done.

No one has mentioned these girls' parents. Couldn't it very possibly be the case that Mom and Dad stepped in decided for their minor children that the idol life wasn't in the best interests of their kids? And that it has nothing whatsoever to do with management or agencies or friends or anything else.

Does it matter when the girls have the final say in all of this? I'd say just respect their decision.

You see, that's the problem here. None of us know anything really. And we probably never will. But just for a moment, if you can, put yourself in the shoes of Miki's parents. YOUR 17 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER has been scandalized by being out past curfew with males in the entertainment industry. How would you feel? What would you do? Maybe the family had an agreement in advance where if anything like this were to occur, the whole idol career would be terminated and their daughter would resume a ''normal'' teen-age lifestyle. Who knows? Management isn't ALWAYS the ones to blame in certain situations.

I've had a few days to mull things over. First I'm glad I got to hear Miki announce her graduation first hand. I rarely watch stage shows but I was curious about the announcement Naachan was hyping for her seitansai, (which I think was that she is going to remain with AKB for the time being?) so I owe Naachan my thanks for that.

I've been worried about Miki recently and I was quietly dreading what the next year might bring for her. I didn't want to see her get further marginalized. She made a difficult decision and spared herself from all of that. I hope she finds happiness in whatever she seeks out. Whether she tries to become a variety personality or whatever I just don't want her to exit the entertainment industry completely. She's going to disappear from my life eventually but I'm not ready for it just yet.

2016 has been a rough year. My oshimen and my ni oshi announced their graduations. So did my NMB oshi. I don't know what my 48G fandom is going to be like in 2017.

Wanting to remember some of her funnier moments, I'm trying to recall which Bingo! ep was it when she was talking to someone and she yelled "NO! NO! NO!" and it was on the screen. Does anyone remember? Thanks in advance.

I can't believe it's come to "this" w/ Miki (soo Soon).

I just saw her Tweet and I thought - Oh how cute she's promoting something "The ISEA Clinic" until I googled & read an article about it... Is this Really where Miki's career is heading??

    Her Tweet https://twitter.com/mikinishino4/status/813609913049980929

THIS is a News article on the ISEA clinic (from a English Japanese News site)
    http://en.rocketnews24.com/2015/10/...ll-boost-your-bust-but-only-for-a-single-day/

She's only 17. I feel really sad if her desire for stardom or desire to be in the Entertainment industry is so strong she's considering "cosmetic surgery". It happens all the time in KPOP (I suppose) & it probably happens more than we'd like to know in Japan (possibly?)- But if AKS has set her on a destructive path w/ their "grounding her" & what some might call an 'early Graduation' I don't know what to think of AKB anymore.

On the other hand, I think it's very brave & actually an amazing procedure as it only last like 20-25 hours. It's a smart way to see how she likes the effects of what the ISEA clinic offers. I think if she actually goes thru w/ a "real surgery" she could improve her modeling & pin-up work. I really would to see her survive & THRIVE after how AKS has treated her. It might be a good career investment. She's already gorgeous in the face & has dancing & singing skills - giving her a "Sexier physique" could be very bankable - I don't know how Japanese view these things.

I for one still wish her all the best & hope this works out for her. Maybe it's just for her own personal "piece of mind" but if it's to make her more "sexier" in terms of Jobs (modeling ect) then I like that she hasn't given up & want to reach higher than AKB in the Entertainment world. Hell, she's got so much energy KPOP groups would LOVE to have her.
