    20nin Senbatsu.
Kokoro and Azusa I could have predicted. Chihi is a surprise.
    Aya...the push is real.

Edit: how is the team distribuiton with the new teams?

Looks like HKT is the only one who can still use the 16nin formation lol

Sayanee as center was kinda obvious with the whole "can we sell out?" concert, but it still makes it kinda boring.
I hope next year we get all new NMB centers tbh. Sayanee can have a go at AKB's. :^^;:

I was expecting this announcement! Yay!

No idea when Keicchi is actually graduating so she could center their first single of 2017. All my fingers are crossed for that. Sayanee center is no surprise to anyone.
20nin senbatsu and you still don't have room for Lemon? Konomin? Yamarina? Not a major surprise here either.

HOWEVER! Mega mega happy for Chihhii and Kokochan, about damn time! The Azusa push was somewhat overdue, thought they would have started that a while back...
Then dat A-yan push. Wow. She's been there five months, promoted yesterday and now in a single senbatsu. Well done you!

So happy for Azusa and congratulations to the other first timers!

I wonder if Sayanee could have declined her center position even after the whole concert thing. She's the captain of NMB, and as a captain she should do what's best for the group, and keeping the center position probably isn't... They shouldn't rely on her forever. Sayanee has an album and a tour now, let Miru or anybody else take the center, or they'll get stuck like SKE with decreasing sales. They should all learn from HKT.

Woop for Jo and Azusa in senbatsu! After two relatively similar A-sides (Amagami and BwI) I'm hoping for something really cheerful along the lines of "Kitagawa" or something NMB-esque like "HA!".

Probably you didn't know about how much of a failure the no-Sayanee concert last month was.

NMB without Sayanee would end up like GEM without Maaya (especially when Spotlight flopped) but unlike Maaya, Sayanee will leave 48 group forever if she graduates.

I thought the empty seats were 'just' ~200 seats out of 8k capacity? (cmiiw) I wouldn't say that was a big failure.

    By the new teams:
Team N: Yamamoto Sayaka, Yamamoto Ayaka, Sutou Ririka, Jonishi Kei, Tanigawa Airi, Naiki Kokoro, Yabushita Shu (7)
Team M: Shiroma Miru, Shibuya Nagisa, Kato Yuuka, Yoshida Akari, Kawakami Chihiro (5)
Team BII: Okita Ayaka, Ota Yuuri, Uemura Azusa, Jo Eriko, Murase Sae, Kushiro Rina, Yagura Fuuko, Fujie Reina (8)

    I disagree.

NMB is probably the least popular group out of current sister groups (with the exception of NGT). The girls did the worst in last sousenkyo. they need to push as many members as they can to see which ones will stick with the public.

Right now, Sayanee is the captain of the ship just like SKE with Jurina. The closest one to her popularity was Milky and she's gone. This was the right call IMO.

They just included all the borderline senbatsu/nearly there members tho, its not going to change anything for them. The only push is Yamamoto Ayaka

But by including them in the senbatsu, they will get the exposure no? at least more exposure than non-senbatsu members?

It will among the fans I guess.

We have this idea (me included) that being in the very last row of the formation doesn't matter much, but that's only with the general public.
Fans who go regularly to HS might want to check her out. They might like her. They might come back to her and suddenly you have another girl selling out.

We're past the time of trying to make girls Maeda-like famous. Now management is just trying to cater to the fans, and fans care about who is in senbatsu.

Now I hope we get some dark Kamonegix-like song.
