Comedy is not the best theme for the current Namba nowadays. NMB48 needs change, not trying to get back to its roots. The members are completely different now.
An osaka-based group that Dosen't do comedy?? Reiko, wakapon, nagisa, chihi all have good timing. Anju is hilarious unintentionally. There is also the yu-gata day and night series that is collaborated with male comedy duos and imo one of the most entertaining shows 48-grp has, along with the long running YNN series and talk stages. It's all less accessible to foreign fans but for the Japanese based fans and Kaneko-san i think it's expected that nmb48 will continue on this route. Sent from my SM-G981U1 using Tapatalk
There aren't many girls who can do comedy. Nagisa, Yuumin, Kojirin and Mirai. Other girls are funny sometimes but not pro in comedy. Wakapon just so awkward in stage =)

2023.07.06 Wada Miyuu first appears in NamVariety. While most members have appeared in the N M and BII stages, few have participated in the Variety stage. Wada would seem like a good fit but her first performance was well, not great, she was either nervous or had little time for practice. From the opening she seem to be unsure of her position and twice impeded her juniors (honoka 9th and sakurada 8th) normally blame must fall on the juniors but it was obvious to me she was walking into them. Since this was her debut, camera often found her looking behind or down to find the stage markers. During unit song “good timing” She even ended up standing with one foot between stage risers when one was going up and she caught off balance. She recovered in time. Rookie moves for a 25 yr old that was in at least one idol group before NMB48. It wasn’t until after unit songs that she relaxed and just started performing. I think she really likes the songs from the second half because she finally started to enjoy herself . Especially Boku datte secret time and seishun nunbutsu (choreographed by kusaka konomi) MC talk. Topic was what songs would you like to try from other stages. This show had members from every team including 9th gen. Ponkotsu, i mean miyuu, said she wants to perform she’s gone from M stage. Reason: i’m in charge of sexiness “poo” Spoiler: not an anti, really Lastly at the risk of sounding like an anti (i;m not, i really like miyuu), compared to other members on the stage, wada looked a little out of shape. in the two pics i shared i think she is holding her breath. Her costume didn't seem to fit that well. other performers in this stage are really thin, sakurada and honopii are teen waifs, maeda reiko and sakata misaki are practically carved out of wood.

I’ve been in Japan an few days now but 48 activities are just starting. My INBOUND ticket was purchased before arriving. I quickly went to 7-11 to get it printed out and it was as easy as walking up to the register and showing the clerk the winning email. They just need to read and enter the ticket number. Paper ticket in hand I caught the Shinkansen to Osaka on the day of the show. This is my second trip to Osaka by train and first time staying overnight. The APA hotel East is located across the street from the NMB48 gift shop! OK enough travel blog, seat was 702. Far Left of stage, 4 chairs back. Closer than my seat last year. Next to me another INBOUND ticket holder, from Canada. He told me he was a fan of Jurina Matsui and hadn’t followed 48GRP since her graduation. He discovered the INBOUND option through reddit, and he said he read up on the process from a detailed English walkthrough he found on another site. I’m thinking of Stage48. INBOUND is a good option for visitors. The signup for FC and FANY is a bit intimidating (esp. that 2-step verification is required now) but still worth it. The normal procedure is you show your ticket, go downstairs, place everything you want to bring in the theater in a clear plastic bag and store the rest in a locker. When I showed the INBOUND ticket to the staff member, he just said OK get in line (with all the people holding clear bags). I’m assuming once you get to the security check, they will bring you a plastic bag? Anyway, when I got to the bottom floor I quickly jumped out of line and grabbed a plastic bag and locker. The next staffer checked my ticket and gave me two papers, one a QR code for a survey and second printed guide for the members with their penlight colors. The member list does not include the 10 gens as of this writing. Before getting the handout I was already studying the appearing members and their psyllium. I already know all the members by sight so I sought to remember a few of my favorites during the show. It’s not too hard and found that the colors can sometimes correspond to personalities. E.g. funashi reina is a spaz and such people are ruled by the element of fire. Her colors are orange and red. Aipi is clean and pure idol, green and pink. This member lineup was missing any senbatsu members. I decided I wanted the penlight colors for Mihina, (yellow x2 mihhi has the sun kanji in name or it could be a yellow sea cucumber) which happens to be the same colors for AKB48s arai sae. So easy to remember. I hoped that by being on the far left Mihhi would spend lots of time there and catch my penlights only four rows back. She did and I got lots of her gaze in my section. There were few, if any, double yellow psyllium near me. Mihhi is not particularly popular but she is very cute, I wish she would grow her hair out. Recently, she teased some photos with extensions. I hope she goes all in. Problem is, her partner and rival, Risa has super long hair rn. Something that doesn’t get noticed through the DMM stream is just how crazy fit these girls are. Especially members like Matsuoka Sakura and Honopi. Sakura is super popular in her SHOWROOMS and I often wondered why because on-screen she doesn’t stand out but in NamVariety she gets the minimum coverage costume we used to always see on members like KitaRie or Takajo. For the opening act is basically glitter boots and some strategically placed ruffles and Sakura’s is the most extreme. From my seat I could easily see the definition in her abs. honopi also has an amazingly slim figure. This was the first performance for Nakagawa Tomoka. Her nickname is Tomo-cha and the callback during her intro is cha-cha-cha! She is already an excellent performer. NMB48 must drill the heck out of these girls because they debut without any awkwardness. MC: (1) favorite season, (2) member quiz (10th generation version), (3) variety challenge (step counter, winner spaz Reina) Aipi is graduating, I’m so sad, but also glad that I got to see her live once more.
