The overall picture is fine, I actually like the stylish classic feel. If I didn't know, I would have thought it's from the 16th single. Can't expect all girls to look stunning. But Wakatsuki is the best. The pose, the dress, that strong look. I agree, Queen of Egypt is what I also had in mind.

Are we so bereft of news about the 17th single that we have to criticize and critique a photo? Hmm. Maybe. Need more info. I expect that we'll be getting lots next week before, during, or after the 5th Year Birthday Live. I can't wait.

And regarding the photo, Manatsu stands out the most because of her yellow dress and the pose. I'm wishing, though, that the next uniform is awesome like Harujion's or the 3rd gen's. Also, 3rd gens!!!

Hopefully they perform the single live on their 5th birthday live, the way Inochi was premiered live on their 3rd birthday. And I hope it's a cool dance song like Inochi too.

Wish it were so. Not too hopeful though. Remember last year's first Nogizaka46 46 Hour Television Marathon? I was hoping for the single to debut then, but it didn't. I'm not sure how much practice they would have had on the song as perhaps rehearsing for the 5th Year Birthday Live took lots of their time. It would be nice to see it though so I'll keep hope alive for it.

    That's quite a lot!

How many total slots does Nogi have with this single? I see the 3rd gens have been included, but will their number of slots be able to cover all those missing ones? Million sales is looking less and less likely.

    759 total slots
    356 1st gen
    259 2nd gen
    144 3rd gen

I estimate the total absences equals about 222 slots. (includes 30 for Himetan)
Of which they would probably sell about 200, if not more.
So even if the 3rd gen completely sells out, they won't cover the absences.

222 slots if sold out equals roughly 135k sales.

On another hand, we can use this single to measure how high % the importance of HS to single sales.

Yikes. Anyway, I'm still hoping that they somehow announce a special HS date (or two) for Maiyan, Sayurin and Ikuchan, and anyone else who's missing some slots.

lmao what a joke single. First horrible W-Center, then the center doesn't appear in a single handshake event and now all those members are missing.

I wonder if any of the absent members would be able to do HS on Keyaki days. It wouldn't be ideal as I would hate to see clashes between the two groups keep either sales down,
but if they're reluctant to book another day because of the cost they could probably save a lot that way.

Absent members aside, it's disheartening too to see some of 1st and 2nd gen members having fewer slots than 3rd gens... but that's life, isn't it.

this is the perfect chance, to gauge how well can this group manage the (inevitable) departure of their top members. i'm not implying anything here, just saying what will eventually happen in the future. these are just absences so they can pull this off for sure, somehow. as for myself, i'll keep an eye on Maiyan . . . . . . . because she's such a lovely lady of course:p

i bet they knew Maiyan will miss the 17th HS even before the Senbatsu announcement, but still pushed for the W-center, and for a good reason. well, that's just my crazy speculation. no need to take it seriously folks :v:

prolly explains why there's an increase in tix ballot for all slots.

But it's inevitable if Sayuringo and Maiyan grad (at the worst case scenario), Asuka and Ikuchan might be the ones leading the 3rd gen. (Naachan would've also been grad by then)

I had a feeling that management failed to see the identity of Nogizaka46 when they selected members for 2nd gen at that point of time. 2nd gen was totally neglected for FNS 2016 performance.

But Nogizaka46 will continue to dominate the classiness of fashion and art industry as an idol group.

Absences are somewhat perplexing. I know of several of those members having other work such as stage plays or musicals, but some of the others I haven't heard anything just yet. And of course Himetan is on hiatus. These are holes that will need to be filled and hopefully some explanations for their absences will be revealed as the 17th single arrives.

It's left to Nishino to hold the line and Captain Reika to make things work. I'm gonna put my faith in those two in seeing Nogizaka46 through to a successful 17th single. They also got up and coming 2nd and 3rd gens to help. It's going to be tough, but the members won't give up. They won't let their fans down.

I think that was more of an under members being left out not specifically the 2nd gen. But, true, about the neglecting of the 2nd gen. Although from what I've been seeing that the 2nd gen members who are unders, they've been getting some exposure not world class like a Maiyan or Ikoma, but enough to tantalize their fans. I think the 17th will show us what they're about.

All this makes me anticipate a single on par with a KimiNoNawa or ImaHanashitai -- where all songs pretty much rock.

Wow... A whole lot of absences, three of which not appearing on ANY handshake event for this single - including Sayuringo (noooo!!!) and Ikuchan, and Himetan on hiatus...

Don't tell me rumors of another name graduating from Nogizaka46...
