Hello there, I don't know if you are genuinely disturbed by the flow of this thread or you are simply trolling, so I'm just going to assume you are genuine.
First, there's no such thing as singling out anyone in this forum, even more if it's based on location or time zones. How do we know where each one of us live anyway? If you find posts that aren't replied, the reasons may boil down to: because it's a topic that has been discussed, or another similar opinions have been thrown, or simply people haven't read it yet. Or, the post is trolling. IIRC that's how normally a forum works. Not every post has to be replied. Even you are free to ignore this reply if you want to.

Second, you rant about people not caring about others here, but have you actually engaged in the discussion? Replying to someone and actually converse with them can be a start. Okay let's use your example, amajingu's post. I don't know the original post as it's been edited by the time I saw it, but do you realize that the video they posted isn't restricted by location, so it can be viewed from anywhere? And the content isn't 3rd gen stage play video teaser, it's the radio rip of 3rd gens' song in this single, which is already posted and discussed in previous pages. If you care, you can always reply to them too, instead of shifting the blame to everyone else, can't you?

I'm not discouraging you in any way to post here, you are free to give your opinion, just as free as me and everyone else in this forum. But instead of positioning yourself as an 'outsider' like this, why don't you just join us and have a great time together?

I've always wondered that myself, i don't know why (SME) Sony does that, it's supposed to give them more exposure , akb's MVs don't seem to have restrictions (they're under King records?)

 

In a way, IMHO, the 48Gs are indeed more 'internationally minded', for lack of a better word. They are more aggressive in establishing sister groups outside Japan (although the experience in China might be a sore point). One of the reasons, I guess, is a different business model. That being said, I agree that I also can't see why restricting access to the MV is doing more good than harm to the 46 brand.

At least Nogi and Keya releases are more readily available via iTunes and Spotify in my country.

 

Imho, I think SMEJ does this to combat piracy. Although hard to do, they are quick to take down copyrighted material.

 

they do post some of nogi's MVs on Sony Music Taiwan but after few weeks ...
I do hope they try to push nogi internationally because the songs are good, melody/lyric-wise (well there's the members as well)
release internationally with english subtitles
or they're contented with the current popularity, they don't need to go overseas,
well japanese i think doesn't really want risks, big changes

That does seem counter-productive though. It's quite easy to find ripped audio and video material. And because of the lack of availability, those living outside Japan might actually download pirated Nogi material.
I know I did. As a fan and a collector, I do buy their stuff and I am slowly catching up, but I can imagine a lot of people don't. It is also quite expensive to order from Japan, and I have to order in small quantities to avoid taxes and custom fees.
Furthermore, I don't use services like Spotify, because Nogizaka is nowhere to be found. That's an absolute deal breaker.

I don't see how restricting access can be helpful fighting piracy, but maybe I am missing something.

Really? I'm lucky that Nogi and Keya are in the Spotify (and also iTunes) service in my area. This is the only way I can afford to support these girls. Actually, it's the 48G that's not available in my area.

I really don't understand why they exclude those groups from certain areas. I mean, actually selling physical CD's in areas in which only a relatively small number of fans reside is perhaps not a good business move. But I thought that the overhead for offering music through services like iTunes would have been negligible while potentially expanding their market.

But, then again, what do I know about business, lol. If I had any semblance of business savvy, I'd have been able to buy Nogi CD's and collect all the pictures of those gorgeous princesses.
