Oh yeah, NHS is coming up. This single is about to break our record over the next month.

I don't want to get this overblown, but there's a bit of a recent issue with the music video on YouTube:

    Polsy check

I tried to access it without at VPN late Sunday night/early Sunday morning, but I wasn't able to do so. Turns out this music video has been geoblocked! Ugh! :asdfgh:

    SERIOUSLY SONY???

I talked to a few people on Twitter as well as setting up a discussion on Reddit. I'll pull out a few comments from that thread:

One big point right there. This music video (in full) is geoblocked, but other music videos (short version though) as well as some random BD/DVD release videos are still up. I mean, what's going on?

Yes. Synchronicity. Last year's spring hit. And not geoblocked??? (Correct me if I'm wrong.)

Also have to point out a Keyaki music video recently, which did the opposite of geoblocking (though the recent "Kuroi Hitsuji" single BD bonus content previews are still geoblocked):

Anyways, I don't like what's going on with this geoblocking situation. How in the world it wasn't geoblocked when it first came out, but later on they geoblocked it??? And why the other videos aren't geoblocked, particularly the short versions of music videos and BD/DVD previews (not before 2018 though), and the Synchronicity music video (unless if I'm wrong)???

    Polsy check

I mean, for the Kaermichi video, does this have to do with some YouTube Music nonsense or something? (YouTube Music launched in Japan last November. Another Reddit thread related to it.)

That being said, I'm really concerned if the Nogizaka46 music video geoblocking for future music videos could happen again once again.

I already posted it on the general Nogizaka46 thread, but this needs a bit of attention. I seriously don't like SMEJ's geoblocking practices on YouTube, before, now and ever!

    00. (00.) 00/10 (+00) Wada Maaya

Really? Maaya ended the entire cycle of the single with 0 sold outs? Why is she so unpopular? She might not be the prettiest but she's really funny, I really don't understand it, especially since Mukai, which has a similar chara but is less funny and pretty (at least to me), does a 27/30.

Variety idols tend to do poorly in handshake. A girl who is good at variety will do well if she is also good at something else, i.e. looks, singing ability, dancing ability, fishing, charisma, all of the above. However, idols who are only known for variety have notoriously low handshake. Especially when there are so many visual members in Nogi who are a lot funnier than Maaya is. Maaya isn't even that funny.

I'm more surprised that Mukai's sales are so high than I am Maaya's being so low. I feel like there are a lot of ojisans who see Mukai as having a "daughter who is working really hard and trying her best" type character.

I don't think the problem is that they are variety-characters. The problem is that they're kind of lacking in other areas. Mukai isn't the prettiest but she can surprise you when she tries. And she gives a good handshake.

Yeah, I mean, Akimoto could be a variety chara, maybe the best one, but she's also really popular, probably cause she plays her chara in a smart way.

It's probably just that Maaya-chan doesn't appeal fans, cause I think she has good qualities too, she makes me genuinely laugh and smile in shows like Nogieigo. While Mukai is the kind of try-hard chara desperate for attention with cheap moves that I find more annoying than funny, but seems more appreciated to wotas.

Its because she's a fisher with excellent fan interactions. Her chara is also much more well defined.

I don't understand the lack of support for Maaya as well. Last weeks Nogieigo once again proved that she is a genius when it comes to wordplay and smart 'dumb' answers. Besides that, she has a energetic attitude. But maybe it is difficult to get into her style. I remember the first times I saw her (early Nogieigo), I was kind of annoyed by her, thinking she really was as stupid as she pretended to be. But that was a while ago and she refined her game as well. So yeah, nothing but love for her. She may have a small role in the group as a whole, but it is a unique one.

I think this is statement is quite harsh, especially since you didn't provide any example to explain why you think in this manner. For me, Hazuki's style is quite genius. True, she can be a bit try-hard sometimes, but I believe that is something that will find its balance over time. It has nothing to do with attention, as you seem to believe. She doesn't need to do so anyway, I am drawn to her as well when she is in the background doing a silly movement or a funny face. Oh, and I do think she is really pretty (when it comes to 3rd gen, only Momoko and Ume surpass her imho).
