It’s not as complimentary as that, but I think the connotation is still positive, like “I’ve never [even once] come to hate Nogizaka.” It’s not such a strange thing to say, but it implies she had particular hardship and/or people think she might resent Nogi. I was more surprised it was the first thing she wanted to say.

 

For me it sounds like "Seriously, there is nothing i hate about nogizaka".

Yuna’s 1st visit to ANN:

-During the summer of her Sakamichi audition, Yuna got a part-time job as a non-alcoholic drink vendor during games at Chiba Marine Stadium. It was outdoors so she got sunburnt, but she wanted the job since she likes baseball. It paid minimum wage plus commissions.
-Yuna also worked at an izakaya before because she had a friendly senpai working there.
-The day before yesterday, Yuna deliberately dressed like a high schooler, but the people around her told her that a more adult look fits her better.
-Yuna initially stayed at her rural home in Chiba prefecture after entering Nogi, but she recently started living alone. She’s had difficulty learning to use a laundry machine, a steam iron, and peeling apples. Shinuchi says to be careful, there was once a Nogi member who burned herself by ironing a shirt while she was still wearing it (Ikuta; see Koujichuu #180).
-Discussing the Under Live, Yuna liked Sabita Compass and was happy at the inclusion of Out of the Blue. Shinuchi applauded at Chopin no Usotsuki.
-Yuna doesn’t cook much. During the stay-at-home period, she made oatmeal, and cooked ham and eggs in the microwave.
-When a listener writes in about using sandwich makers, Yuna says she likes ham and cheese sandwiches. Later, Yakubo writes in to say she has a sandwich maker too, so they can eat them together.
-Yuna’s stadium vendor experience helps during Lives because she’s more steady walking down stairs. She says some other vendors tripped since they held heavy refreshments and couldn’t see their footing. Shinuchi says she always gets scared on stairs and looks down, which gets her yelled at during rehearsals to look forward. Shinuchi says Miria once fell down stairs during an Under Live, but luckily it wasn’t a big fall and she wasn’t injured.
-Shinuchi reports that Hinatazaka member Sasaki Mirei-chan was hospitalized for a week for health reasons after her physical exam. She’s concerned and says idols need to be careful of their health, they lead irregular lives. Nogi offers an annual health exam in April, though last year’s was delayed to September. Results take about a month. Shinuchi is shocked to learn that only 5 Nogi members took the health exam this year. She encourages everyone to take it. Yuna says she didn’t because she’s scared of the blood draw, though she’ll go next year. Shinuchi usually gets As and Bs on her health results, though her kidneys got a D last year, she suspects because of too much salt from daily pickles. She cut down her salt intake and got all As for the first time this year.
-Yuna once got an annual pass to Disneyland for her birthday in high school.
-Yuna plays an inspiring song she first heard in a CalorieMate commercial in elementary school, Anly’s Yume wo Akiramenaide.
-Shinuchi (29) is stunned that she’s closer in age to Yuna’s mom (37) than Yuna (18).

 

Nao’s 2nd visit to ANN:

-Nao once cried while co-hosting the Chinmoku no Kinyoubi radio show because she couldn’t remember the Nogi song “Koumori yo” during a song intro quiz. She was worried what people would think of her as a 4th gen member.
-Shinuchi dreams of having Nogi members perform Influencer at her wedding. She wouldn’t want to invite non-friends to her wedding. When asked whom she considers friends, Shinuchi says the people on her Line friend list. She cleared out the list when she joined Nogi, so she has <100 Line friends. Shinuchi and Nao agree it’s hard to tell whether the people they meet after entering Nogi are friends. Nao is shy and slow to make friends, so she counts just 6 friends from childhood and school, though she has >100 Line friends.
-Nao messaged Ayane on Line to compliment Ayane’s ponytail during the 2ki Live, but she worried about how long to continue chatting, since Ayane often ends conversations quickly.
-Nao worked part-time at a convenience store for 1.5 years. Her favorite part was drawing the handwritten signs for the store, like the sign for “Eggs” in the eggs section.
-Nao is concerned about the etiquette of sending Line stickers to senpai. Shinuchi recommends downloading stickers with polite language. Shinuchi asks someone (her manager?) off mic whether it’s better to write “arigatou gozaimasu” or send an “arigatou gozaimasu” sticker to manager-san, and the person replies that manager-san prefers a sticker, which surprises Shinuchi and Nao.
-Nao searched for personalized “Yumiki” Line stickers but couldn’t find any, so she downloaded “Nishiguchi” stickers instead, because Hayashi told her that she looks like a Nishiguchi. So now Nao uses stickers like “Nishiguchi says thank you” or “Leave it to Nishiguchi.”
-Asked to describe Sakura, Nao says Saku-chan laughs easily and likes to cling to people from behind with her chin on their shoulder.
-Asked to describe Yoda, Nao says Yoda-san sat next to her when she was alone at the start of a Koujichuu recording, knocked on the acrylic divider, and asked her if she wanted to make a hand heart together. Nao says Yoda is like a god in her mind.
-Nao has been staying up until 3 AM in preparation for ANN. She usually slept at 12 AM before. She’s also been drinking Yakult 1000 to help sleep, on Rika’s recommendation.
-Shinuchi has been so busy with the new single this past week that she irresistibly falls asleep as soon as she gets home, even if it’s on the floor, which messes up her sleep schedule.
-Shinuchi likes to eat the ice out of the ice maker in Manatsu’s refrigerator.
-On the topic of punctuality, Shinuchi mentions that Hori recently planned to visit Shinuchi’s house at 4 or 5 o’clock (Nao: “In the evening?”), but Hori messaged that she’d come an hour early because she finished work already. Shinuchi was still in her pajamas.
-Nao says she becomes tired after meeting people.
-Nao plays a song she performed on Nogizaka Star Tanjo, Pink Lady’s Pepper Keibu.

Late-night Sakura Hina double feature:

-For their last meals, Hina would eat hiyashi chūka noodles and Sakura would eat meat.
-Hina sets her home A/C to 28°C and says the Nogi lesson room is extremely cold at 24°C or less. Sakura says she’s sensitive to heat and prefers her home A/C at 26 or 27°C. They say Manatsu is sensitive to heat, while Hoshino tends to say it’s cold.
-Sakura says she’s been eating avocado every day since coming to Tokyo. Hina likes to make tea from the avocado pit.
-Sakura hasn’t really talked to her older brother’s girlfriend.
-Shinuchi asks if they’ve ever wanted to be different than other people. When Hina was in elementary school, she thought hay fever and glasses were special and cool. Now she has both and wants to change back. Shinuchi hasn’t wanted to be different, she goes with the flow. Hina suggests that Sakura wants to live her life without being stared at, and Sakura agrees.
-Sakura says Yoda is a reassuring senpai who offers to do things first when they work together. Hina says Yoda is a gutsy kouhai who doesn’t seem to fear anything and doesn’t waver because she goes at her own pace. Hina describes how Yoda once wore a big parka and loose pants and looked like a chibi gangster. Kazumin was thrilled and said, “Isn’t Yoda cute today?”
-Shinuchi is holding a “fantasy wedding” on next week’s ANN, which basically means the guest gives a funny wedding toast speech. Sakura gives a sample toast at 36:06, but can’t hold back her laughter.
-Sakura and Hina have whitened their teeth before. Shinuchi recently tried it for the first time. She didn’t need teeth whitening, but she has a dental hygienist friend who told her it was easy.
-A listener writes in to say they once lied about feeling unwell in order to leave a school club early and go on vacation. All 3 members say they wouldn’t dare do that. Hina holds some jealousy toward such fun-loving people (*cough*Hoshino*cough*). But Shinuchi and Hina say that doing things seriously is ultimately the most important thing for them.
-Hina was once late returning to the bus after a Koujichuu shooting. She was forgotten and the bus left for home without her.
-Shinuchi was once late and missed the bus to a Nogi Live at Fuji-Q Highland. She bought her own train ticket, which was expensive since she was still on a beginner’s salary. She rode alongside fans with towels who were also heading to the concert.
-Sakura says a lot of 4ki overslept during the 3 Person Principal play. She was once late and was warned to be on time, but she overslept the next day and entered backstage, crying.
-Hina has apparently never been late to work. Shinuchi says Chima has the image of arriving early and doing her makeup early. Hina says she’s fastidious about her face and always applies base makeup.
-Sakura is from Nagoya in Aichi prefecture, and used to visit her granny who lives in Tokyo. When Nogi performed in Nagoya, members visited Sakura’s family and ate soba. Shinuchi says Sakura’s family probably reads member blogs, since they knew about Shinuchi and Hina’s activities.
-Sakura plays a song that her family often played in the car in Nagoya, Sukima Switch’s Guarana.

 

I want to see! I want to see! Gangsta Yoda! Hilarious...

 

Stayed up to tune in to Yodachan. Quite enjoyable mousou marriage nuptials programming. My interest piqued on which character Yoda liked from the manga Tokyo Revengers. The anime is currently airing after Hinatazaka de Aimashou. The manga is worth the read.

They played Ulfuls’ Banzai-Suki de Yokatta and I can’t get that song out of my head now.

-Wild child Yoda believes it’s better to fight a wasp than to run away from it. (This is not a good idea)
-Yoda says she doesn't worry much about her hair, she leaves it to the hair stylists.
-Yoda stayed up all night last night watching Tokyo Revengers because it was recommended by a makeup artist and by a radio show. Her favorite character is Draken. It’s the first anime she’s watched in a long time.
-Yoda wants her wedding to leave strong memories, whether good or bad. She’d like to play Nogizaka46’s House! at her wedding.
-Shinuchi holds an ANN “Fantasy Wedding” (last held June 12, 2019 with Kaede and ex-captain Reika), which consists of Yoda giving wedding toast speeches written by listeners making jokes like Shinuchi cheaping out on wedding food, marrying a foreigner and changing her name to Shinuchi-Escargot, etc. Yoda tries out progressively weirder voices, including samurai, Kyushu accent, gyaru, and old lady. The toasts are at 19:41, 21:30, 24:09, 33:18, 36:44, 55:24, 58:29, 1:03:13, 1:05:22, 1:10:21.
-Yoda plays a song she wants to play at her wedding, Ulfuls’ Banzai~ Suki de Yokatta.
-Yoda wants to climb her favorite trees when she returns home to Fukuoka. She likes climbing trees, even though she used to fall and get hurt a lot.
-Yoda sings the Tenjin Aigan glasses jingle at 43:47. Her eyesight became bad only after coming to Tokyo.
-Yoda asks to be invited to Shinuchi’s real wedding, she says she’ll give a touching speech.
-Yoda used her mom’s name “Yoda Yuki” in her 27th single individual PV. (Yoda’s name is “Yoda Yuuki”)
-Shinuchi once tried to incorporate the internet slang kusa (basically “lol”) into her daily speech, but Hori said “Maichun, stop it.”
-Shinuchi pondered which songs she’d play at her actual wedding. She chose back number’s Hanataba because she was told by the Nogi ANN radio director Funasaki-chan that it fits her.

Mio’s 1st time on ANN:

-Mio is often called Yakubo-chan by senpai. Her official nickname is Micchan, but members don’t call her that. Shinuchi decides to call her Micchan today.
-Mio started college this spring, but she hasn’t been to campus since all her classes are remote. She wears glasses and a mask when she shows her face during online classes. She can attend classes while she’s at work, but on the other hand, she’s made no college friends.
-Mio lives with her parents in Tokyo so she doesn’t cook.
-Mio’s shy talking to strangers. At restaurants, she used to force her younger twin sister to pay the bill so she could avoid talking to the waiter.
-Mio has been a fan of Matsumura since 5th grade. There was an idol boom with AKB48 during her elementary school years, and she became interested in Nogi when her sister showed her the Barrette MV. Mio wanted to join Nogi because she read a magazine interview where Matsumura talked about the 3ki’s admired senpai and wondered if she could be a new kouhai’s admired senpai someday; Mio wanted to become that kouhai.
-Shinuchi calls out Mio for her stiff use of humble polite language 24 minutes into the episode and says it’s fine to talk more frankly, but Mio says she can’t. Mio talks casually when she’s around 4ki though.
-Mio watches a lot of TikTok.
-This week features a quiz on new teen slang, which Mio and Shinuchi mostly get wrong. Mio says Rei and Ayame would probably know the answers.
-Mio says high school was tough because test days and Live rehearsals overlapped. Shinuchi says Junna and Maaya had the same problem in high school.
-They praise the Sayuringo Gundan concert. The final Live was so fun and cheerful that you wouldn’t think it’s a graduation. Matsumura chose the setlist.
-Shinuchi was told in rehearsals not to cry during the Live, but she failed. Members usually enter onstage through low passageways, but during this Live, they had to walk past the audience for each new song. Before her duet, Shinuchi had to wait beside a group of fans while Dekopin played, wearing a black mantle to hide her costume. The fans encouraged her to do her best, which made Shinuchi start to cry.
-They wore new 10+ cm high heels during the Live that made it difficult to dance and run.
-Matsumura has been so busy lately that Shinuchi hasn’t been able to see her much, even backstage.
-Mio isn’t good at replying to texts, she thinks too much about what to write and gives up.
-In elementary school, Mio didn’t keep up with popular trends, she had very few friends and read books at the library. She would go out to idol events, but otherwise didn’t leave the house. The first Nogi Live she attended was an Under Live at Budoukan, around the time Nagashima Seira announced graduation.
-Mio plays a song that rescues her when she feels frazzled by many small failures, Oomori Seiko’s Midnight Seijun Isei Kouyuu.

 

Kaki is this week’s guest:

-When Shinuchi asks if Kaki had a part-time job, Kaki says yes but doesn’t elaborate, and moves on to say she'd like to work in a shop or café.
-Kaki likes going to big bookstores in Tokyo and browsing for new books. Mostly manga.
-Kaki’s too shy to talk with store employees, but they try to talk to her even when she has earphones on. So she shops online instead, but she ended up buying pants that fit badly, shoes that cause blisters, sofa cushions that are too small, and a bookcase with shelves too short so she has to lay her books sideways. Shinuchi says she has friends who work in clothing retail and they’re used to customers not wanting help, so it’s fine to say so.
-Kaki is slow at replying on Line, she ponders what to write and then forgets to reply.
-Managers announce member birthdays on Line, usually around 10:00 AM. Members then reply with happy birthday stickers, but the 4ki write out “happy birthday” in the chat (apparently seen as more respectful than stickers).
-Kaki has 79 Line contacts, 60 of which are Nogi people.
-When Kaki first started using Line, she was told that her texts were (misinterpreted as) scary, so she started adding emojis and exclamation marks. Now she uses smiley faces, flowers, and four-leaf clovers. Kaki says Ayame uses new and surprising Line stickers.
-Nogi frequently creates Line groups for work, e.g. if 5 members are doing an activity together then they’ll join a new Line group to receive information.
-Multiple members have “M” as their Line display name, so Kaki couldn’t tell who they were when she first joined Nogi. Shinuchi has 6 Line contacts named “M” and she can’t identify one of them, despite asking other Nogi members and her hometown friends.
-Kaki plays a song her mother likes which she often listened to in the car, Hoshino Gen’s Week End.
-They perform partial choreography for Gomen ne Fingers Crossed (41:15) and I see (1:48:30).
-Kaki’s school played the official Tochigi prefecture song every time students started cleaning the classroom. At 1:34:30, Kaki can’t remember the lyrics when the music plays. At 1:56:55, the radio staff give her the lyrics and start playing the music again.

-Matsumura says her favorite overseas trip with Shinuchi was to Italy, where she discovered the greatness of tiramisu. Her favorite city was beautiful Venice, though it was scarily dark at night.
-Matsu has delivered for Uber Eats (during 46 Hour TV 2020) and was surprised by how tiring the job was, so now she always adds a tip when she orders. (Tipping mostly doesn’t exist in Japan)
-Matsu says her family members all eat more than her.
-Matsu introduces herself as 13 years old.
-Matsu grilled and ate 10 ayu (sweetfish) last night when she got home from work after 10 PM. She ate 50 ayu last summer, and aims to eat 100 ayu this year.
-Matsu’s glad she did a graduation concert, but it was tough. She was entrusted with planning all the prep meetings, costumes, set design, etc. She jokes it’s the most popular she’s ever been with the staff, since they were constantly checking in with her every day.
-Matsu was granted a lifetime supply of rice (3.6 metric tons) from the JA Group (Japan Agricultural Cooperatives) for her graduation. Bananaman also gave Matsu 60 kg of rice. When Shitara entered the studio for the next Koujichuu recording, he jokingly complained that their gift idea became redundant. Shinuchi tells Matsu to be careful of relationships with men who are just trying to get their hands on her rice.
-Matsu has started getting private non-Nogi jobs, but she felt a sense of completion + lightness + burnout for about 1 week after the concert. Then she suddenly started feeling lonely the week after that.
-Matsu says she didn’t think she would stay in Nogi this long, she thought many times about quitting. Looking back, she thought of showbiz entertainers as sparkling figures, and doubted if she was suited to perform in front of people. She originally wanted to be a nurse. Now she thinks it’s good that she entered the entertainment industry. At 29:45, she says one of the biggest reasons it was fun was Shinuchi, which causes Shinuchi to start crying.
-Matsu and Shinuchi often took trips together. Two women traveling alone is dangerous, but they always encountered good people. Shinuchi recounts the one exception, when they visited an unspecified country. On two successive days, first Matsu and then Shinuchi discovered that the 10,000 yen bills that they kept for emergencies went missing. But the suspected culprit acted very friendly so they let it go.
-Matsu, Shinuchi, and (ex-captain) Reika once traveled to Korea, and were puzzling over which train to take in a train station. Shinuchi was looking at her phone and said to take the next train, so Reika got on the next train, but when Reika turned around, the other two hadn’t followed her, and the train doors closed behind her. In the 3 seconds before the train started moving, Reika made a pathetic face and the other two burst out laughing. (A past ANN episode gives more detail, in Japanese)
-Matsu says Reika suffers those sorts of fates. During the Nogi trip to Paris, when the group was returning to the hotel after their Live performance, Reika was left behind on the tour bus because she fell asleep.
-In Venice, Matsu and Shinuchi debated for an hour whether to give their gondola reservation to an old couple without a reservation. They ended up keeping their reservation and it was great, the gondolier sang a lot.
-Shinuchi says Nogi members from Osaka have a gentle and classy manner, she has a good impression of them.
-When Nogi did handshake events in Osaka or Kyoto, (ex-member) Nishino’s dad used to visit and give milk senbei to the members.
-Matsu plays a beloved song that, 5 years ago, she wanted to sing at her graduation: Hirai Ken’s Boku wa Kimi ni Koi wo Suru. 5 years ago, she considered quitting and didn’t know how to verbalize her feelings, but the song’s lyrics connected with her.
-At 1:37:00, Shinuchi realizes she can’t give the salmon skin from her lunches to Matsu anymore, and starts crying for the 2nd time.
-Matsu monologues from 1:45:02. Being in Nogizaka46 was not easy. For her, the painful things may have been more numerous. But the fans and members played a big part in making her feel now that being in Nogi was good and fun. She first became friendly with Shinuchi during a period of dejection when she had closed off her heart and didn’t involve herself with other members. Maichun was good-natured, concerned for others, and talked to her, so Matsu suddenly suggested they go on a trip together, despite them not being that friendly yet. Her life in Nogi changed greatly after becoming friendly with Maichun, and she says it’s thanks to Maichun that she was able to smile until the end. She chose to talk about this here since it’s ANN. Matsu plays Sa~yu~ Ready?
-At 1:56:21, Shinuchi asks if Matsu has anything left to say. Matsu says Maichun being here with her was really fun. Shinuchi starts crying for the 3rd time. Matsumura says ANN may be their last job together and she told the managers she really wanted to appear, so she’s glad she was able to do it.

 

Seira broadcasts from her home turf in Osaka:

-Seira, Rei, and Ayame shared fruits together 5 days ago. Rei brought a watermelon and melon, Seira brought grapes that her grandpa sent her, and Seira forgot if Ayame brought anything.
-How was the first day of the Summer Tour? Seira says they’re touring with summer songs, so it feels like Nogizaka’s summers have finally returned. Even though the audience can’t cheer, she’s grateful when she sees their towels and lights, and hears their applause.
-Two days before the Live, Seira returned early by herself to her home in Osaka prefecture, where three households of her extended family live together. Seira’s grandpa invited her, her mom, and her aunt-in-law to a golf driving range at night. Her grandpa is reputed to be good at golf, but she’s never seen him play, he always just sits behind other players and tells them they’re doing it wrong. Her mom got into golf after Seira left for Tokyo, but Seira’s never golfed before. Seira golfed her hardest for 1 or 2 hours, so her right buttock and arms hurt the next day. Today, her butt still hurts a bit. She was able to forget about it thank to the fans’ enthusiasm, but she’s afraid she’ll be sore tomorrow.
-Seira’s parents came to today’s Live, and her friends will attend tomorrow's Live. Matsumura’s parents used to come every single day if the Live was in Osaka, but Seira says she’d be embarrassed if her parents did that.
-Seira describes various TV shows she used to watch in Osaka. She loved watching Doyoubi wa Dame yo! 土曜日はダメよ! on Saturday evenings, right before leaving for ballet lessons that she didn’t particularly want to go to. She used to record episodes of Tantei Knight Scoop 探偵!ナイトスクープ, which Shinuchi says Matsumura also enjoyed.
-Seira sings the Tantei Knight Scoop theme song at 38:28, the Asahi Cosmetic Surgery jingle at 1:10:22, and the Jonetsu Horumon restaurant jingle at 1:13:00.
-The rest of the Nogi members traveled from Tokyo to Osaka yesterday. Shinuchi says it’s been a long time since they traveled by Shinkansen and stayed overnight for work. Shinuchi packed an aroma candle, bath salts, and a massage gun. She offers to lend the massage gun to Seira for use on her right buttock.
-Nogi members rehearsed at the Live venue (Osaka-Jo Hall) yesterday. When they got on the bus to leave for the hotel, the staff asked who forgot their luggage backstage. The answer was Yoda.
-Seira plays a local song that she used to enjoy with her friends in Osaka, Yabai T-Shirts Yasan’s Kishieki Shuuhen Nanmonai.

 

Mizuki returns, and so do remote broadcasts under Tokyo’s 4th state of emergency:

-During last year’s stay-at-home period, Mizuki didn’t have any media appearances scheduled for 2 months, so she cut her hair short. She says a manager got angry at her to a surprising degree, but after the haircut generated positive buzz, the manager told her it was the right decision. Mizuki says she’s normally quite loyal to higher-ups, but she can’t stop herself when it comes to her hair. She also got scolded the first time she dyed her hair brown during the Sing Out era.
-Shinuchi has been asking permission for a bob haircut for 5 years, but she’s always denied. She once sent a selfie wearing a short wig and management told her it looked good, but when she asked again, they refused. She actually had a bob throughout college.
-Shinuchi says Hoshino also dyed her hair brown without permission, but once she did it, management said it was okay. Shinuchi is obedient, but she’s jealous of rebels and thinks they’re cool. Mizuki responds, “No, no, that’s no good, [becoming] a woman like me.” Shinuchi explains that being scolded is also bothersome. Mizuki says when she’s scolded, she feels gloomy until nighttime. Mizuki urges Shinuchi to cut her hair tomorrow. Shinuchi says she’ll consider cutting it when she turns 30.
-Mizuki’s short hair started in her first year of high school, when she let a beauty salon trainee cut her hair for free. The trainee messed up, so they cut it short to fix it and it looked good.
-Haircuts relieve Mizuki’s stress. When she first entered middle school, she couldn’t make any friends, so she cut her own hair when she got home to relieve stress. The next day, the kids made fun of her hair looking like a helmet, which helped her make friends.
-Mizuki brings lots of luggage on trips. She brought two big bags to the studio today, including a reusable eco bag. She doesn’t want to ask for plastic bags when carrying extra bento back home. When Shinuchi says she doesn’t normally carry an eco bag, Mizuki says Shinuchi is “merciless towards the Earth.”
-Mizuki’s bag is heavy because she carries makeup supplies, sweets, crunchy pickled plums, pocket tissue, a face roller, gum, 2 or 3 perfume bottles, etc. She knows she should switch to portable atomizers, but she doesn’t know how to transfer the perfume.
-Mizuki shared an okonomiyaki with Sakura in Osaka. Despite the great takoyaki, beef tongue, tuna cheek, etc. during the tour, Mizuki is craziest about Country Ma’am brand chocolate-covered cookies. She’s motivated to work every day for the chance to eat cookies at lunch. On the first day of the Osaka tour, someone anonymously put a bag of the cookies on her table, but she deduced it was Shinuchi since she was the only one Mizuki had told about her obsession.
-They both say their physical abilities have gone down since the last summer tour 2 years ago. It’s harder to recover. On Monday, Shinuchi woke at 9 AM, slept again 1-9 PM, then slept again 1-5 AM.
-Mizuki’s hometown is in Tokyo prefecture but outside the 23 special wards (i.e. she’s quite distant from Tokyo city). She says it’s full of nature, farm fields, and tea fields for the local Sayama tea industry.
-The 3ki initially split into 6 Kanto member and 6 “regional” member cliques during lessons and when riding trains. Within the Tokyo members, there was also a ward/non-ward split. Mizuki and Reno often went home together on the Chuo Line trains.

-Mizuki won 1 million yen from the All-Star Thanksgiving TV show in April. She says she used up most of it buying about 100 premium bento for production staff twice, then buying a Roomba for herself. She named her Roomba Robo-tan.
-Mizuki plays a song she loves, Hoshino Gen’s Fushigi.
-Mizuki and Shinuchi share the same makeup artist, so they talk to each other a lot. Shinuchi calls Mizuki “Yama,” and Mizuki’s comfortable making fun of Shinuchi throughout the episode.

 

Wow, I just know how their appearance is so controlled, even getting a haircut needs permission. I wonder how they justify that certain members can cut their hair short but some members can't...

 

For a group like Nogi with emphasis on natural and elegant appearance, I am not surprised that they cared very much for members' appearance, even during variety shows.

 

Management probably believes it’s good to build a stable image (e.g. Asuka = long hair) and that certain members look better with certain styles based on fan feedback and hair stylists’ opinions. We could speculate that they have market research about the risks of changing hairstyle, or Shinuchi’s fan demographic prefers long hair, or it’s best if X number of members have long hair to promote a certain image… but come on, it’s just as likely that it’s some manager who subjectively thinks “long hair fits Shinuchi,” and they’re a control freak who’s resistant to change much like many Japanese upper management types.
