i've been thinking about it, should nogi get their own sister group?? if the want to rival AKB, they should also expand their hierarchy. but, they're AKBs rival, not 48g's rivals. i'm really confused. what do you guys thibk?
A sister group based structure is unsuitable for nogi imo. nogi does not have nearly as much media resources to spread around as do the 48 franchise. We also aren't geographically-based & theatre-based, which are important features that allows 48-groups to sustain their huge memberships. Compared to 48-groups, nogi's direction is also different in that we have a media-based senbatsu/fukujins that are focused toward acting/musical development while our unders are performance-based & grow thro lives; a direction that I don't think can be easily replicated to a sister group. To put it simply, inadequate attention is given to our kks alrdy, let alone expanding to have more members. There's one exceptional case where I can imagine a sister group can work out tho, & that is a foreign sister group. There may be no room to share resources or exposure for a nogi sister group in Japan, but if SME is trying to establish a foreign idol group in a different market but with a similar nogi formula, it might work out. It's hard to say with any certainty for sure tho lol
I personally don't want nogi to get too big. That's precisely what I don't like about AKB, too many girls. It's better to focus on smaller group of members and market them properly, grow them to be a strong team. With nogi, it should be more about quality rather than quantity.
Didn't they say, back when they debuted, that the 46 in their name meant "we'll win even if we're less members" or something like that? I think having a sister group would take that meaning away. Also, it's not like they really need it. They've already surprassed the sister groups in sales. Surprassing AKB itself is simply impossible, but that's another story lol
Nogizaka46 struggles enough with so many talented members competing for a place in the senbatsu or the fukujin. It makes a lot of drama for little gain in my opinion (H!P does manage to do very well without those methods). They already beat a lot of expectations*, no need to create more tension by creating subgroups. * They were marketed as AKB's rivals but nobody believed it would be possible in the management or even among the members.
give the undergirls their own singles and they become the first sister group, since they already have underlive concerts or maybe sony will pick up some small idol group as nogi's sister group
@rust even if nogi isn't theater/location based, I think they could have sister groups anyway. The concept wouldn't be the same as the AKB ones, but more like what Country Musume and Coconuts Musume were to Morning Musume: basically the same thing with a slightly different concept. To be honest I'd rather have subunits instead of sister groups. Now that would rock. Overall I do not think Nogi will ever get a sister group for a simple reason: they already are a sister group. They're like the rebellious sister who doesn't come to family dinners, but a sister anyway.
nahh they don't need a sister group... they have ug right ? in other way the ug is like their sister group lol
That would be splitting resources you could invest in Nogizaka46. Dont need sister groups. Just focus on Nogizaka.
