today Momochan celebrated 9 months of everyday streaming (started 13th Oct) and on that occasion she talked about SR and its importance (22nd minute in video; transcription below; free translation more below)

[I'm open to any corrections if you're confident about them especially the questionable parts!]

It's been 9 months so let me talk a bit about it.
I've kept doing SR because I think SR is really important.
I don't mean it as to say to all the members "You should do SR".
But as recently as one year ago lots of people didn't know about me
and SR really is something that gives you many opportunities to get your name out there
and by "just" continuing to do it every day, it became a topic and many people became to know me

Doing your best at theater shows, events, tour is a normal thing, isn't it, you're there standing on a stage as an idol after all.
Before joining AKB I couldn't really attend concerts or handshakes because my parents were kinda strict and thought it's dangerous. So I could pretty much support only by like watching them in TV.

People who can come every time will probably do, but there are many of those who cannot, and for them to be able to have fun, I find it very important to make myself known to them.

To put it without glossing over anything, I think "name recognition" is an extremely important thing. To continue this "hard work" in a visible way.
There are many people who think like: "Isn't hard work behind the scenes more important?"
but unless you make yourself known nothing will ever start, will it.
First start from getting your name out and only then think how to work hard.
[??]There are many members in 48G so no matter how hard you work your effort can get buried[??]

[?]Before we started SR, I had always been curious "Why/how did you find out about me?"
At all the events or tour I had been in the lowest positions so I had often thought "Why's that?"[?]

In that state I hadn't had many opportunities to promote myself, I hadn't been called for almost any events etc... or rather I had but not as much as other members had

I truly think SR is important - I can be like this, just by myself and talk about whatever I want, communicate with fans... it's really a great streaming app

I can get myself known to many people and raise my name recognition
Then by continuing every day people started to say "wow that girl is great!"
Actually I myself don't even find streaming at 5:30 as something "great" but many fans and staff etc say so

I was chosen in Shoot Sign senbatsu and Ima Para coupling senbatsu and became a center for SR senbatsu.
My life has really really changed thanks to SR

So I feel not doing SR is kind of a waste.
Cutting your private time and streaming every day, people may feel like "oh, that girl really has a lot of free time doesn't she" and some do say such things, but it's not really like that.
To be thought of as having free time might be uncomfortable for proud people, but unless you throw that pride away, it's very hard to aim for top, or so I think.

[?]Of course, being so proud, many might feel about them like "they so cool!", I feel like that too!
But working super hard, I feel it is an extremely necessary thing.[?]
[??]It wasn't "I want to become like that" but rather "Let's work hard"[??]

[?]So, I don't know if it's really ok saying all this "Onishi's dream" [the name of her SSK campaign] [?]
but, making this story of 1 year of mine known, it might make other members think "If i continue working hard for just a bit more, I can aim for a higher spot!" which I think is nice

I think each person has its own way of how to work hard so it's not like I can say "only this is the correct one"
but if I managed to show that there's also this way then I'm happy.

Just seems like common sense -- if you're not getting the recognition from hardcore fans in SSK, need to ramp up name / face recognition by other means...

SR does seem on the face of it, to be an invasion of free time... but isn't free time what all ambitious idols fear most? Momochan obviously saw this opening, did her research, then just jumped in to get on the ground floor. Not surprisingly, she's reaping the benefits now. She certainly deserves it.
