    For now it's just a "looks like they're gonna get married" thing, not official yet. I hope they get to live together soon! It says they first met in 2012. Kento then said Yuko was his AKB48 oshimen. They met again when working on "Scarlet." Apparently, a friend says, Yuko's frank and bubbly side brings Kento out of his shy shell, which is really cute :cute: They've been dating for a bit over a year now, which seems quick to me, but they're in their 30s and hopefully happy!

    As a westerner I agree, but marriage after a short period of dating for adults is normal in Japan. Some of the foreigner YouTubers I watch have commented that they don't really date in Japan because of marriage expectations if the relationship is going well, plus my friend married his wife after dating for less than a year in Japan. He said she wouldn't have been please if they waited longer like we typically do in the west.

    Definitely a huge contrast to wrap my head around since my husband proposed two years after we started dating and we were engaged for an additional two years as well. :^^;:

    It sounds like Acchan didn't even know they were dating. While I thought they were close enough to at least mention they're dating someone or something, it's not uncommon for these things to happen in Japanese culture. And I'm not talking about just keeping it secretive from the public or press.

    Come to think of it, did Acchan ever have a wedding ceremony?

    nope, afaik all they did was the standard instagram post lol. But tbh it never seemed like they actually wanted to get married, they just did it because of the baby.

    calling him 'her new husband' sounds like Yuko has had a few already ;)

    and, no, he's an actor, t.b.h. I understand celebrities marrying other celebrities ... but the failure rate seems to be higher (maybe because the inherent competition it creates about who's the more famous)

    (and there's the extra scrutiny if both partners are famous)
