maybe the next missions/team battle will be more 48/46G songs with the remaining 2/3 japanese idols. putting the more popular 1/3 who are also more capable at korean (mako, miyu, myao) and putting the less popular 2/3 on more comfortable japanese songs. I'm not sure how this survival show will work exactly but that's my speculation

The list is incomplete -some AKB, NMB, and NGT are missing. Also... 2 ENGLISH songs? So the trainees must learn singing English song too?

P.S. I know they used English songs in previous seasons -but not for 1st mission :fear:

That list is incomplete. The insider says there are still 8 other songs. So I hope there are some Japanese songs.

Btw, why does the list include Amane? So strange. :^^;:

    Fixed.

How is taking pictures of celebrities and selling them a matter of piracy?

If they get permission from the celebrities' management/company to do take pictures and sell, then it is not piracy. Heck, it doesn't matter if they sell or distribute it for free.

    Image rights / privacy.
Because someone is a celebrity doesn't mean you can freely take a photo without authorisation, and worse make money out of it.

The kpop culture is insane but fansites and masternim is so much bussiness stuff. And the sasaeng (stalker crazy people who invade idols' private) culture is so much allow because the korean company help build them because sasaeng, they can make more money. Specially boygroup. So, the masternim sales photobook and merch with their own pictures is less of their problem tbh...

Even the cellphone company help sasaeng culture, given them celebrity number is some kind bussiness too, because they make money with that too.

    Very sad but :/

Japan has very strict laws regarding personal image rights. As far as I'm aware Korea doesn't have similar laws Korea has superficially similar laws, but they never get enforced, so that's probably why we get all these airport photos only on the Korean side.

So, in Korea, it's not. But anyone used Japanese law probably still feels that it is.

Image rights/Piracy is different from piracy right?

Well no, piracy is basically illegal usage/reproduction/distribution etc etc of any sort of copyrighted work, trademark etc etc. Image rights is one of things that are pirated.

Celebrities own the right to their “fame” to put it easily and who can use it or not. That’s why you have endorsement contracts. You can’t just sell something with a celebrity’s face on it without permission. They’re gonna need to be compensated. Except fansite culture is so big that Korean companies don’t bother to deal with it since it’s quite beneficial as well for free PR. Some people become fans after seeing some legendary fantaken pics. (Also Korean law doesn’t really care for intellectual property much)

Learning a lot about Korean IP law in here... who says following idols doesn't teach you anything?

Based on the fact that the Korean fan sites actually monetize the photos and footage they take, it doesn't surprise me anymore that they go all out with their cameras. I always thought it was because they were super committed lol

Since there's a lot of posts on fansites, here's them in action at Ginpo airport a day ago when Sakura and HKT arrived. Those are some expensive looking equipment.

Well it started from being super committed, then some smart fansites saw the opportunity which turns out to be successful and the floodgate opens.

If you are the top fansite of an idol, you will earn alot which is why some midtier (even top) fansite masters move on to a newer idol so that they can be the top fansite. This was very prominent in Produce 101 S2, where alot of popular fansites suddenly closed down but were spotted taking photos of the contestants.

So, i was pretty curious about the member’s popularity that i did some research on their YT & Naver views

the data was taken around 00.00 KST/JST (i know it’s a day late lmao i wasn’t planning on posting it so), i rounded it up to the nearest tens since it turns out a in a span of 1 minute, the views can add around 5-10 views, and all of this isn’t taken at the same time. I will be displaying top12 only

Note: the release dates of Naver & YT videos seems to be different for most members it seems

    Youtube
    Rank. Name (Views) Release Date
    1. Miyawaki Sakura (760.050) may13
    2. Matsui Jurina (371.810) may13
    3. Miyazaki Miho (326.780) may11
    4. Goto Moe (311.290) may11
    5. Lee Chaeyeon (254.060) may11
    6. Heo Yunjin (250.040) may11
    7. Lee Kaeun (239.650) may11

    9. Jang Gyuri (127.560) may14
    10. Shiroma Miru (125.180) may12
    11. Wang Yiren (123.220) may13

    10. Wang Yiren (43.970) may14
    11. Honda Hitomi (44.970) may12
    12. Miyazaki Miho (43.060) may12

    Sum (YT + Naver)
    1. Miyawaki Sakura (883.390)
    2. Matsui Jurina (487.360)
    3. Lee Kaeun (398.920)
    4. Miyazaki Miho (369.840)
    5. Goto Moe (359.960)
    6. Kojima Mako (351.460)
    7. Lee Chaeyeon (332.800)
    8. Jang Gyuri (324.470)
    9. Heo Yunjin (297.240)
    10. Wang Yiren (167.190)
    11. Shiroma Miru (155.580)
    12. Kim Chaewon (142.750)

I started to realize that members whose videos are released earlier gets a “quick start” hence why most of them tend to be higher, so i decided to find the average views per day. Here’s the result

    Youtube
    1. Miyawaki Sakura (76.005) may13
    2. Matsui Jurina (37.181) may13
    3. Miyazaki Miho (27.232) may11
    4. Goto Moe (25.941) may11
    5. Lee Chaeyeon (21.172) may11
    6. Heo Yunjin (20.837) may11
    7. Lee Kaeun (19.971) may11
    8. Kojima Mako (17.785) may11
    9. Jang Gyuri (14.174) may14
    10. Wang Yiren (12.322) may13
    11. Shiroma Miru (11.380) may12
    12. Kim Chaewon (8.790) may11

It doesn’t really make any difference for YT view ranking, but it did for Naver view ranking

    Naver
    1. Jang Gyuri (24.416) may15
    2. Miyawaki Sakura (13.705) may14
    3. Lee Kaeun (13.273) may11
    4. Matsui Jurina (12.893) may14
    5. Kojima Mako (12.550) may12
    6. Lee Chaeyeon (6.562) may11
    7. Wang Yiren (4.886) may14
    8. Jo Yuri (4.612) may14
    9. Asai Nanami (4.522) may12
    10. Goto Moe (4.425) may12
    11. Won Seoyeon (4.107) may13
    12. Honda Hitomi (4.089) may12

Both Heo Yunjin & Myao dropped out of top12, while Jo Yuri & Won Seoyeon made it in. Sakura’s average views turnt out to be 2nd, compared to her total view’s 4th.

Sum (YT Average + Naver Average)
    1. Miyawaki Sakura (89.710)
    2. Matsui Jurina (50.074)
    3. Jang Gyuri (38.590)
    4. Lee Kaeun (33.244)
    5. Miyazaki Miho (31.147)
    6. Goto Moe (30.366)
    7. Kojima Mako (30.335)
    8. Lee Chaeyeon (27.734)
    9. Heo Yunjin (24.231)
    10. Wang Yiren (17.208)
    11. Shiroma Miru (14.420)
    12. Kim Chaewon (11.896)

It’s pretty much the same as the not averaged one, but the biggest difference is in An Yujin, who didn’t even come close in the not averaged one with total views of 86.770 while barely making it in in the average one with 11.268

It seems like YT views reflect the International Fandom while Naver reflects Korea’s (hence why 48G members got more views in YT than Naver)

Sorry if the data is inaccurate, this is literally my forst time doing stuff like this. And please do take this with a grain of salt. After all, i am just some random guy in the internet
