I would want too, if they get eliminated. Both Hyewon and Nayoung get along very well with Japanese trainees and would already have friends in 48 groups. I personally cannot help thinking that Hyewon was born in a wrong country - in Japan she would have debuted years ago.

Draft 4 with all the produce girls. The draft would finally live up to what it was supposed to be like in the first place.

Imagine if in the last episode Aki-P goes up on stage and announces to the last 20 "Surprise!! You're all Kennin Members now!" [hehe]

After the project finished, I think I will not complain if they create Seoul or Busan 48, starting with some of the eliminated trainees who fit the image they want to create :hehe:
I mean, there is also no guarantee that you will debut once you go back to your company right?Even those who already debut may not even know how long they will promoting the group (see Gaeun's case). So yeah, I think some will be interested to join. The agencies may say otherwise, or they can cut some deal.

Well, sometime ago there was the talk about the new FENT group, which would have Do Ah in, and Woollim is not gonna make a new group, but they are doing everything to keep Eunbi in, Stone has fromis_9 to think about.. so yeah, perhaps some agencies would be okay with the concept as long as it is located in Korea, I guess.
I wouldn't mind it... all that potential wasted around just break my heart, but I wouln't like have ktrainees lose themselves in the sea of 48 members.

Well being in a 48g is consistent full time work. Some debuted Kpop acts don't even get to promote regularly. In a 48g you can perform in the theatre for however long you want at the very least.

Also, Japan pays a lot better no? Kpop acts are always trying to debut in Japan.

but u need to consistently expose some part of your body..and the need to consistently fishing rich fans..and fight to has a spot in senbatsu and screentime..BUT definitely happier as one can consistently perform in big tour in whole year with enthusiatic fans..
among those reason, i still think most important is appearance in MV..i dont think any k trainee will want to go if they know how hard to be in a single and MV in 48g..

Rumor's chart position really shows you who the bosses are. Their YT view is insane too. The performance difficulty is probably a little too high? They had to dance to a choreo where they have to crouch, stand, twerk, hair flips like their life depends on it, etc and the fact that the demo vocal sounds really strong doesn't help. Nonetheless, I think they delivered, everyone deserves to stay tbh, and I can say that Miss Kwon Eunbi is gonna go FAR in Kpop industry.

Ngl, if I-Fans are allowed to vote, Sae probably will have a chance to make it to the final round. She always gets the most view in her team (she's never been in the same team as Sakura tho) despite having almost 0 screentime, aside from the obligatory performance screentime. I'll say she had it worst among the 0 screentime 48 members (Miu,Miru,Miyu) tbh. Miyu had her almost eliminated comeback arc, Miu had the "I can't dance" phase in Peek-A-Boo (girl was also center once), Miru got some time during the STS practice, I think. Sae? Aside from performance, she only had the Position Eval speech and that's also another obligatory screentime lol.

I think a complicated voting system is hard to explain and would seem unfair to voters that would get less than one full equivalent vote of other voters. And yes k trainees are supposed to have an advantage with voting being limited to korea. Aside from pre-existing fans, there's also the amount of searchable content for 48 girls plus the ability to directly/indirectly appeal to voters by continuing to do their job (HS, showroom, concerts, etc.) while the show is going on. Anyway, I think "global group" is just a catchy name/reference similar to world senbatsu ssk --- the final group will still be a korean-based group with japanese members that will promote in both korea and japan and maybe other parts of asia. And I think mnet is having a hard time keeping it that way by trying to limit to number of japanese trainees that will make it to the final group.

Re hyewon again, just wanted to add that I think she's a really nice person -- kinda shy, not full of herself and doesn't let her desire to debut/succeed consume her personality. So maybe she's not that likable as an idol because of skills but she certainly is very likable as a person. I also think many of the lower-ranked trainees are/appear nicer than the higher ranked ones maybe because they're more able to set aside being competitive towards the other trainees. I think girls like AYJ, wonyoung, kaeun etc. are constantly concerned about maintaining their rank and that they're in competition with the other trainees whereas the trainees that are just hoping to make it, go as far as they can, or even just do the best they can, can be more generous towards others.

Re murase -- I agree she has one of the least amount of screen time. Similar and imo even less than Tomu and Mako as I don't recall seeing her reactions to anything being shown. She's just killing it during performances but unfortunately, the daily online voting is heavily influenced by the practice and other scenes that are shown on the show. The performances only account for a short amount of time. I hope nmb management was able to see that she has a lot more potential and that she's being underutilized in nmb. She's just naturally sexy without having to do anything (she does have her "will you be mine" gimmick during appeal time).

I'm looking forward to the fun content they have planned for the first part of next week. I think there should have been more "fun" and other clips of the girls interacting or even helping each other practice, eating together, etc. as opposed to the rather repetitive/boring center selection, concerns about appealing to the voters by being center/main vocal blah blah and practice clips showing all the groups are struggling/making mistakes when we all knew earlier on that it will be okay during the actual performance.

I absolutely love the idea of a Japanese and Korean w-center!

The only reason I feel the center should be Korean is because this whole thing wouldn’t even be happening if it weren’t for Mnet and the Produce franchise. It’s first and foremost a Korean brainchild and it never would have gotten this far (a 3rd season with Japanese contestants) if not for that domestic support from Korean fans. In my experience, you don’t just branch out to Japan unless you’ve had success in the domestic market. That’s usually how K-pop groups do it and I think that’s what Mnet is doing with this franchise. And not to beat a dead horse, but what with political tensions between the two countries and anti-Japanese/anti-Korean sentiments still alive and well, you wouldn’t want to potentially alienate your domestic fanbase by choosing a Japanese center.

We all already know that this group of 12 will probably have a lot of individual fans (fans who only stan one member and don’t care much about the group). That’s how it’s been with the groups that came out of the last 2 seasons. There can be a lot of in-fighting in the fandom and I’d hate to see people use nationality as an excuse to sling mud against one or more girls just to prove how much better they think their fave is. Just my opinion given my observations.

Successful groups earn more money in Japan, but in terms of the money trickling down to the idols? That's a different question.

From what I understand 48g girls are salary based with bonuses. Kpop idols on the other hand earn a percentage of their revenue but have to pay back their debt for room + board, training, styling, and all the other expenses they rack up.

On the low end 48g girls have it better. They can expect theater work and a salary, however small, and they can keep working pretty much as long as they like. Kpop idols basically earn nothing until they clear their debt, and if they never make it they disband in a couple of years with nothing to show for it. Getting that first paycheck is a big deal for Kpop idols. Many Kpop trainees don't ever get a chance to debut whereas 48g girls at least get some theater experience.

However, Kpop idols do massively better once they clear their debt. Since they earn a percentage of their revenue they can amass money quickly. Top kpop stars make millions a year USD. Does anyone in 48g make a million USD? Sasshi?

Kpop is go big or go home.

    ~Lee Gaeun 17.5 (19-16)
    ~Ahn Yujin 18.5 (17-20)

The top four people on both lists were very similar, that was very surprising. They seem like near-locks. Also if you went by Naver from the start, you wouldn't have been surprised by Miyu's high ranking.

Lee Gaeun has cooled off, but her fans are so loyal that her overall value might be better presented in the larger sample size table, rather than the last one.

People like Hyewon are the toughest to predict, since she's a talentless AKB-style trainee. I'm not an AKB fan so I'll just leave it at that.:awesome:

Have you ever seen any top 48G member who can buy super cars, extreme luxury clothes, and even buy an entire building? The Korean companies can earn more in Japan, that is for sure. However, the Korean idols can also earn a lot lot more than Japanese idols b/c their companies let them have a way way bigger share while the Japan companies keep most of their idols income.

Nah, that thing only applies to small companies. Big companies like SME, the trainees DO NOT pay anything to the company. Everything they use will be payed by their company. That's why they start earning money right at the moment they debut.
