Single Sakurazaka46 11th [UDAGAWA GENERATION] (2025/02/19)

Yah the Billboard numbers show a similar trend - 1st week sales are a drop of IWTC's 559k.

Still, nothing too concerning as there will always be ups and downs in the sales. Generally we have come a long way and gained more sales.

 

Still a good number, but I hope for a jump next time. Mio centre? In Nightmare Syndrome Mio displays again the beautiful full-body sinuous moves she showed in Hikikomoru. Flanked by (short) Shii-chan and Airi? Or by two of (tall) Ten-Rin-Miu? My personal wish is to see Rin and Itoha as much and as clearly as possible.

This is not to criticize Hikaru, who I think is outstanding in this MV.

 

I think sales dropped coz this single released was on not end of the week or 1st week of the month.. And also having Yoda graduation on during the weeks of sale.. Yes, the number of sales still goods and going to be momentum of going upwards.

 

I believe the fact that they announced 11th single and 2nd album at the same time didn't help. Buddies would probably have bought more if they didn't had to worry about the album, miichan grad con and also the tour.

 

Mio may not be a "technical" dancer like Shii and Yu, but I agree the way she moves draws you in. Her face expressions are on point as well. There is a reason for where she is currently at, and I'd love to see her as the center for the next single.

If talking for center of next single, Just give me tenrin w center, either for senbatsu, b side, album or anything for future project... even not as senbatsu, I want to see it.

Either way, I think the sales is stagnant due to global economic crisis especially in Japan. Well, many factors contribute it like we have maximum sold out meguri capacity (not counting the trio back 2ki) and of course because the hype isn't as big as we want it to be. Yet, nothing concerning.

 

Judging by how many times they have been in photoshoots side by side, a w-center seems a pretty possible scenario.

 

T: "Come to the barbershop frequently?"
K: "Once in a while."
T: "Wanna double-center with me for the next single?"
K: "Sure, why not?!"

 

This is a very good adaptation of Udagawa geneeration to piano by a very good pianist and fellow buddy Yo Masumoto... I've spend almost all day today listening to his Sakurazaka (he covered all the repertoire until now at least side A-songs) and Keyakizaka adaptations/piano arrangements and believe me, he's done AMAZING work...

I hope I am excused by him (just in case he is following these forums and another buddy with a nickname, but I hope that he is worthy of some innocent promotion (from a buddy to a buddy). Also I see his work as an ex-pianist that right now is dying to try his songs IF I had a piano and IF I haven't been completely alienated from the instrument for nearly 10 years...

Just a minor but hilarious detail I noticed while watching the Udagawa MV for like the 30th time...

When the 3rd row girls make their appearences, you know, inside the walking cardboxes, these cardboxes are named: FRAGILE, FRAGILE, FRAGILE,... FRAGILE, RAW, FRAGILE... There is only one named RAW in red, in a series of black FRAGILES...

The one inside the RAW cardbox is, who else, that crazy little brat Itoha-chan... I found this really hilarious given her uniquely crazy and spontaneous, full of "raw" adolescent power and energy, personality... What a nice "eastern-egg"...
