Sasshi ranked 85th in the top 100 of the richest people in Japan according to this site! :1st:
it says her annual income is $4.4M with total wealth being around $14.4M! no wonder she is the only female talento in there!
not sure how reliable this data is though, this could be just another amateurish guess.

I guess it's another random income rankings again. Personally, I think Sashi wouldn't make it in the top 100 richest people in Japan, probably not even top 1000 richest people. Even if total wealth or income is that amount. My guess is that Japan has a lot of millionaires that people never heard of. Lot of small to mid size business owners, large company directors or executives, bubble-era's idols and artists, all likely have much more wealth or income than her.

Sasshi was announced the highest earning female idol in 2014. Not just within AKB48, but out of all female idols. I'd argue 2014 was even before her prime.

Now she's a regular on like a dozen variety shows and appears on other shows all the time. She receives royalties and income earnings for two girl groups that are both doing pretty well. She's got a makeup brand that is very popular. She's got a book. She's cast in uncountable CMs every year. She's basically stretched her reach across almost all areas of entertainment and income, and there's no way mid-size business owners make more money than her. I doubt a mid-size business owner makes millions in personal profit; maybe company profit, yes, but not for themselves.

I'm also not sure how much wealth artists from the bubble era managed to preserve after that bubble burst. Seiko Matsuda, called the best selling female idol of all time in 2011, only sold about 100-200k copies of her singles during the late 80s, and 29.5M during her life time until then. Her main source of income is also stated to be acting, which she didn't do as much during the late 80s. She only starred in 1 movie and 2 dramas from 86-91, and the movie is the only one with a Wikipedia site (with very little info).

Just a little while ago, Sasshi gifted all the members of =LOVE expensive high-end brand t-shirts for no other reason than because she could. I don't think you should underestimate how much wealth she's accumulated just because she's "new" (which I would argue isn't even really true).

on the one hand, I am very skeptical about that website too - it's super amateurish, just a plain default Wordpress page without sources or any other indication of credibility.

on the other hand, this amateurishness could actually be interpreted as a sign of credibility. since it's so simple, it has no ads so most probably it wasn't created by some web master to get revenue from it. it's hard to believe that someone would waste their time AND money (hosting and domain name cost money), come up with some random names and numbers and get absolutely nothing in return.
but if that page was created by some tax office worker who knows nothing about website building and monetization and who just wanted to share his/her knowledge to the world - I can actually see that, that would make sense.

as for Sasshi's actual standing in the richest people ranking... I'd say, even if she's not in top 100 she's probably closer to top 100 than top 1000 if only actual savings on the bank account are counted. I remember even Yasusu was "half-joking"(?) once that Sasshi has more money than him. here I agree with @bonjourmarlene - without a doubt, usually the worth of business is much higher than individual income of celebrities, but it also doesn't mean that all company assets go straight in owner's pocket. usually after deduction of all expanses, shares of other shareholders, etc. owners get only fraction of it.

besides, Sasshi is an owner of a few successful businesses herself. but unlike other non-showbiz business owners she doesn't have expanses, only incomes. no risk, high return [hehe] and this is also what sets her apart from many other celebrities who might be more popular than her but who get their income only from their agency's jobs.
the other thing about Sasshi is that she is well known for not being wasteful. apart from occasional house buying and donations she doesn't spend that much money. which is her advantage over bubble-era stars. even if they earned more than her then I'm pretty sure they've left most of their wealth in that era as well (or somewhere down the past 30 years road).

I think there is no doubt that she is probably one of the richest young woman in Japan now. And my guess is that Sashi probably have higher income/wealth than the figure they give. She likely has higher wealth than they say due to Sashi not being a big spender. I'm not sure about 2014, but on her later years as idols, she definitely was the highest earner out of all idols of her generation (excluding idols like SMAP or Arashi). And she for sure make much more now than when she was an idol from all the TV hosting, CM, idol producing, make up, contact lens, etc. Perhaps, I stand corrected that small size business wouldn't have net income in the tens of millions range. But it probably wouldn't be out of reach for mid-sized business owners. And for Showa era idols and artists, I think they definitely made more than Sashi in their time, and had accumulated more wealth than Sashi. There are also other people in Japan who gained their wealth by inheritance so that they never had to work in their lifetime too. In the Konkura show that Sashi hosts, they frequently show various celebrities home and discussed their income/wealth. The money that some people have, and the money that Showa era idols make (including those that are not even close to Matsuda Seiko's level), really were on another level from the current generation. In one example that they mentioned on Konkura, a former idol (can't remember her name, probably from the 90s) was gifted a whole stand-alone single family home (not apartment) on her 17th birthday by her agency. Gifts of branded hand bags from producers, various entities, on birthdays were fairly common occurrences for them. The generational income gap in Japan can be pretty drastic even for the high earners.
