SDN48 to start performances open to those under 18 as well

Togasaki announced on the AKB48 official blog that starting June 16th, shows starting 7PM or earlier are now open to all ages. Some slight adjustments have been made to those shows. Shows starting after 8:30PM are still 18+, however.

SDN48’s Takahashi Yui promotes her new DVD

On December 11th, SDN48 member Takahashi Yui attended a sales commemoration event in Akihabara for her new DVD “Yui Mania”.

The idol began by reflecting on her memories from the shoot’s location: “This is my second DVD, but it’s my first since joining SDN48. It was shot during the summer in Bali. I didn’t have time to go sightseeing, but I ate mangosteen for the first time and it was delicious.”

AKB48 sister group SDN48 has just unveiled the PV for their new song, “Yaritagariya-san“!

“Yaritagariya San” is one of the B-sides to the group’s latest single “Kudoki Nagara Azabu Juban“, which was released today. It is sung by SDN48’s Under Girls Team G.

SDN48 holds release event with Mino Monta for their latest single



On December 28th, idol group SDN48 held a release event for their latest single, “Kudokinagara Azabu Juban duet with Mino Monta” at the Zepp Tokyo.

Approximately 2,000 fans gathered at the venue to celebrate the release of SDN48’s latest single. The opening number “Kudokinagara Azabu Juban” featured a sudden appearance by Mino Monta as a surprise guest, who helped the idol group rile up the crowd. The delighted audience even gave Mino a huge “Monta call” cheer.

 

SDN48’s Serina reveals her post-graduation plans

On January 18th, SDN48’s Serina (26) made an appearance at the DVD release event for the movie, “The Speak”.

This thriller tells the story of six people who get trapped in a hotel and must find a way to escape. Consequently, reporters were inspired to ask Serina if she had experienced a ‘thrilling’ event of her own. In response, the idol referred to her upcoming graduation from SDN48.

 

SDN48 announces the release of their last single & album in March

SDN48 has just announced that that their last single will be titled, “Makeoshimi Congratulations,” and will be released on March 7th. Although this is their last single, SDN48 is also releasing their first album one week later on March 14th.

The group’s first and coincidentally last full album will be titled “NEXT ENCORE” and is set for release on March 14th. It will feature all 4 singles and its coupling tracks, along with one brand new song.

SDN48 releases the full PV to their last single

SDN48 will be releasing the group’s last single titled “Makeoshimi Congratulation” on March 7th, and the full PV to the last single has just been released.

The PV tells a story of an alumni meeting of SDN48 members set as in 2022 (10 years later from now), and depicts the members’ lives after their graduation. For example, Serina became a successful actress, Urano Kazumi became a mother of triplets, Kohara Haruka became a politician, and Sato Yukari became a man…etc. AKB48 member, Kashiwagi Yuki, also makes a cameo in the PV.

SDN48 holds release event for their last single

On March 18th, AKB48 sister group SDN48 held a release event for their last single, “Makeoshimi Congratulations“, at Yomiuri Land.

As reported earlier, all members of SDN48 will be graduating from the group through a farewell concert at NHK Hall on March 31st.

SDN48 was created based on an ‘adult idol’ concept, and made their major debut in November of 2010 with the single, “GAGAGA“. Since then, the group has released “Ai, Chuseyo“, “MIN MIN MIN“, “Kudokinagara Azabu Juban Duet With Mino Monta“, and “Makeoshimi Congratulations“, which has all ranked in the top 3 in the Oricon Weekly Charts.

SDN48 has held a release event at Yomiuri Land for every single except “Kudokinagara Azabu Juban Duet With Mino Monta”. On this day, the girls performed a total of 9 songs for 3,000 fans in the rain.

Like Urano Kazumi, who will be joining AKB48 sub-unit Watarirouka Hashiritai 7, some members already have plans after graduation. Serina expressed, “Everyone has dreams in different areas, so we talk about how it would be nice if we’re connected in some way.”

Before leaving the stage, Noro called out, “I want to give the best show on the 31st. I want people to be proud that they have supported us. Please continue to support us until the very end!”
