Just watched her on Tokyo Idol Fest with the new hair. Not liking it, it's too short, makes her looks like a boy. Well, I may need to get used to it.

I'm in love with Mona, but never really put my energy to knowing Keyakizaka more than Nogi. And recently I just read Jujuchuu's translation of Mona's individual interview (yeah I know, it's been shared couple weeks ago, but at the time I was kinda lazy to read). I'm glad to know she decided to join Keyakizaka because she feel Nogi's style fit with her more. And i'm really glad she didn't join other group which her homeroom teacher recommending. So. i can find this lovely girl.

Mona is in an an magazine this month as part of a K46 feature. an an is one of the most popular women's magazines in Japan and is aimed at women 20-24. It was started in cooperation with Elle.

In her blog, Mona says that this month she is appearing in magazines she admires. In its K46 feature, the magazine assembles a "Thigh Senbatsu" for its thighs issue. This is the magazine that asked readers six years ago which male celebrity they would like to have s_x with (Fukuyama Masaharu #1, Matsumoto Jun #5, GACKT #6).

And here's an artistic off-shot of Mona on a skateboard, taken by Techi, with Berika sitting there eating. She says she just put one foot on it and used the other to push herself around. She says the clothes they wore for the feature are just her style.

 

"Shida Manaka Photo Festival." I have to say that, for me, Mona's exotic looks make her one possibility for the most beautiful of all the Keyaki-chans.

Also, in a recent interview, Manaka recounts that when she got to be in the front row, she was worried that other people might not be able to accept it. But when she recorded her solo part in the SekaAi video, Suzumon (who had been demoted to the second line) came up to her and said: "That was great." She says that if their situations had been reversed, she could never have said that. "We are really blessed with good people as members."

 

I translated the interview ukifune is referring to (from Nikkei Entertainment magazine) on my blog! Suzumoto Miyu, Shida Manaka, Imaizumi Yui: A change of scenery as they experience new positions for the first time.

Whenever I read or watch something that Manaka is featured in I walk away thinking about how effortlessly cool she is. She says she wants to be a reporter covering rock festivals in the future? I could definitely see it!

The book she is reading appears to be about the guitarist and singer/songwriter Yokoyama Ken, formerly (?) of Hi-STANDARD: YouTube.

I really hope that she gets some fashion magazine work soon.

 

Great interview. Excellent translation. I can so see Mona interviewing rock stars. I think she'd make them nervous and desperate to please her and would get great stuff. Lol.

 

The manager of a Tower Records store in Tachikawa (Tokyo) is a huge Mona fan. He noticed the Oda Nana post, too. Here's a blog post about how much he supports Mona.

 

Ooh I just realized who Ken Yokohama is!! He opened up for the band Chatmonchy when I saw their show last year. I wasn't his biggest fan, but I wonder if Mona likes Chatmonchy... mona is so cool!

I doubt that this was the motive, but I cant help but appreciate the amount of "free" marketing his store will get because of this... Snap, even I would find it and buy from there if I lived in Tokyo
