104k (Oricon record for more sales at first week)... I saw it on Tumblr, cited from a newspaper.

Maiyan 2nd pb 1st week sales was 103,520 copies

 

Pretty impressive (I mean I was expecting a huge number for her, but WOW!).

She should pretty much break Kojiharu's record by next week pretty much.

 

Wow, that's a huge number. Her previous PB is only about 30K+ I think. Such a growth in just 2 years or so. Congrats Maiyan!!
Is this the record 1st week sales among 46/48 group or?

 

yes i think that's a record for 46/48 pb 1st week sales. (Kojiharu 3rd pb 1st week was 53,980 which was the highest for 48G)

top 5 pb 1st week sales in 46/48G (correct me if i am wrong)

1) Maiyan 2nd pb (103,520)
2) Asuka 1st pb (58,215)
3) Nanase 2nd pb (57,478)

consider how huge nogi is..im surprised no news at all about this..eeven stage48 members arent really updating..i mean, at last someone had asked for the sale where most of the time someone will post any news without fail.. haha

I told you the hype was real! I mean, even more than Kojiharu? WHOA...

104k is pretty unprecedented for such a Nogizaka46 member photobook! But then again, if Saito Asuka's photobook already has its own thread, then why not Maiyan's "selling like hotcakes" photobook???

Now all I want are some high quality scans that pop up in some idol torrent site, but I have a feeling we might need to be patient a bit...

 

Wow looking at those numbers, Maiyan really raise the bar so high for an idol photobook.

i wonder what makes the sudden jump..is it really hype in japan? or maiyan is actually super/mega popular face over there that we kinda under estimate her popularity here..
i wonder if nanase gonna beat that..
other members must feeling pressure right now..

 

I think the 3rd ptb of both Nanase and Maiyan will not higher than their 2nd, and I think their 3rd maybe their grad ptb!!!

The sudden jump is because everyone wanted to see the sexy shots. I believe that because of the demure image of Nogizaka that the rarity of seeing a member in a sexier photoshoot led people to go buy it in droves.

 

i completely agree, thats what (almost) all those people who bought it have in their mind. a sexy photo of a usually sexy individual is just sexy, but a sexy photo of a usually demure individual is like knocking on everyone urge/desire/lust's door (what's the right word lol)

 

But Maiyan has done sexy photo right from her first PB. At that time, she was the first member who did it and was a huge topic, many were surprised that a Nogizaka member would do it.
I think part of the success of this PB is due to the overall quality of the shot itself. I haven't seen all the photos, but from what I've seen, there are many sexy but stylish photoshoot there.
