So every job they get is controlled by AKS?
I thought things like modeling contracts, photobooks, non-promotional magazine appearances were a side hustle.

 

Everything is done through their agency but again, it depends on the terms of the contract they have with their agency, some people may have it different. I think I can recall Misaki from Akb48 being able to have a solo career that wasn't handled through AKS but again she had an exception in her contract that allowed her to do so. Yoshida Akari has a youtube channel with 200,000 subscribers but because its affiliated with NMB48, she gets no gain from it other than popularity (which is a pretty big thing).

 

In general, yes. Everything goes to AKS. But it's complicated for some of the top members because they often have dual agencies. I believe Maiyan has a second agency for her modeling work, so I wouldn't know which agency allows her to do photo books.

 

Would the 2nd agency work like AKS or more like a western talent agency ,the agency takes a percentage cut but most of the money goes to the talent?

 

If she gets a flat salary, I hope they raise it big time.

 

I subbed Maiyan's latest appearance on Fukaii Hanashi. Hopefully people will stop thinking that she skips Kobetsu because she's lazy or doesn't want to see her fans.
