Single [SINGLE] Nogizaka46 7th [Barrette] 13/11/27

First of all, great Ikuchan video there, Kimi no na wa kibou is a wonderful song too.

Opinions on the Barette PVs...

Barette > Tsuki no Ookisa > Hatsukoi no Hito wo Ima Demo... = Sonna Baka na

Nothing touches Barette for me, both the video and the song are absolutely brilliant imo. I can't get over how good it is. The song is beautiful and catchy, which is a very tricky combination to pull off. When I first booted up the PV and watched the first drama bit I though "No way - this isn't a 48 group video. This must be a scene from a horror/thriller movie". The maestro guy is so creepy, the things he does to girls is creepy, I was legitimately like wow gj Aki-P for greenlighting this. It's several magnitudes 'worse' than Beginner for me, epsecially psychologically. Even HA! wasn't that bad, it was more straight/comical.

Then the action scenes remind me of Sucker Punch (I actually liked that movie though) and I even love the way the dance shots are set up. The interposed scenes of roses are classy too. Sooo gooooood. Great PV.

Tsuki no Ookisa just gets a huge yay from me, because even though the song is pretty generic, I love the cinematography and costumes. I'm a sucker for Edo-period (or any historical Japanese, really) costumes and settings.

I love the atmosphere for Hatsukoi, the song reminds me of another song though I'm not sure what song. It's a good song though. Not amazing but definitely quite good.

Baka na is cute and funny, but it's not really anything new. I didn't really get the hype for it.

(heh, maybe they reused the seifuku no mannequin outfits because... they're really seifuku no mannequins now... )

 

Oh god, what the heck have I done... I've mixed up Kimi to Deatte Boku wa Kawatta with Kimi no na wa Kibou. I wouldn't even recognize it if it wasn't because of this post of yours.

They already surprassed all their weekly sales up until now.
And they're just a bit behind SKE's Sansei (and a lot over NMB's Kamo) first day sales.

The PV might have a lot of "negative" points in Youtube, but whatever management did, it worked wonders with the fans.

 

Maybe the Naruto tie-in helped a lot? I'd like to think people think Barette is just THAT good of a song/video though...

 

Wow if fans chip in just enough this single might even break the 400k barrier.

Incredible sales. They beat NMB48 so easily and are tracking SKE sales by few number!

I am quite surprised. I thought it would have increased smoothly because Girl's rule sales were already high.

The quality of Girl's rule was already top notch. What can explain Barrette huge sale then? 2 shot? Special event?

 

Wow the sales [shock]. I think it was because of their song being used for Naruto's OP....but still dang that increase. I'm so happy for our girls

 

Yay the upward trend continues, so things shouldn't look so bad for Miona
I was predicting around 350k~360k so my guess was quite close hahas, hope they would hit the 400k mark at the end of the week

The song being the naruto OP probably might help lift the sales by 10-20k, anisongs don't usually sell that much from what i see, specially with those long-time animes, compared to those "Anime of the year songs"

Slowly and steadily watching the bonuses while reading the photobooks

So far I've watched ikuta's and ikoma's full bonuses, both are awesome.
Ikuta's voice coupled with her piano skills is like a dream @_@ I wanna be able to do that too (jealous much)

And for ikoma's video, she coordinated her own dance steps based on a song, her dance steps coupled with those special effects were godly O_O
At the ending, where there were "2 ikomas" it made me reminisce Mizutama Moyou MV hehe

Gonna be a fun year end, even though there wasnt a single for quarter 3, all these made it worth it, not to mention the official calandar hehe

I'm really happy for the girls yay!
After giving a couple of listens Barrette still my favorite song from the single, I don't know why but I really like this song and it was a really good PV, loved the colors. Sonna baka na is catchy and the PV is pure fun
Overall a pretty good single, Girl's Rule was a great single and I was afraid that the next single would drop in quality but they just keep getting better.
But I agree with Trinu about the girls selected for the main b-side hmmm.

No matter haw many fans who disappointed with management's decision, in the end fans still buy the single to meet their fav girls in handshake event..Does Naruto-OP affect the sales? well, let's wait for the soundscan result to see the proportion of the theater and non-theater editions sales..

Happy to see Barrette's 1st day sales beats NMB's latest single's first day sales (by great number). Considering N46 isn't 48 sister groups (which get big promotion, get their members as senbatsu in AKB song, join AKB's big concert, etc).

Hope it will hit 400k number in weekly result *pray*

 

The magic of Hori Miona. jk I believe the other songs included with this release made this single a success. I personally prefer Hatsukoi over Barrette so it prompted me to buy two types (B & C).

how befitting for the fake Kyoto-jin lol. Kinda slow, but pleasant to watch. Bgm helps a lot. The interactions between her & the children were great.
Seeing how miko works is interesting too. It's quite nicely filmed too. Altho Kazumin's PV still have much better style & scenery. Hinachima' exceeded my expectation tho.

Maaya's feels very poetic, I like the filming as well. The electric guitar sound near the end feels unfit tho. A bit headache-inducing at the end too sadly. But otherwise not a bad work for low budget I suppose. :3

Ikoma's I rly like actually. The concept is great. I like the choreo too, & I like the way she dance here more so than before too. The actual choreo is too short tho methink. The dance at the beginning is nice also, & the special effect is nicely incorporated.

great story, great convo, & methink great acting as well (including the boy.) Somewhat thought-provoking, & moving as well. the flashing between present & future can be kinda confusing tho at first, & being more linear might be better. But after view 2nd+ times I don't think that's a problem, as it in a sense invite audience to think more about the story.
