What's notable is that even EXILE suffered, meaning I don't think it's because "AKB is getting passe" (although that might be a factor). I'm guessing this is Johnny's trying to flex their muscles to show who's really boss as far as sales are concerned.

On a slightly related but different note if you think about it, the "velocity" and "demand" for theater edition HS allotments are lower this time 'round (for Gingham Check) - Yukirin's slots haven't been filled up after 1st round, which is somewhat surprising. Perhaps it is a sign that AKB goods spending is starting to slow down overall.

Back to Mayu, with such an incredibly high 1st day sales for Johnny's, I think she'd (and we'd all) be happy with just a 2nd.

Well, there's also the album. The handshakes for that went pretty quickly - and they are double the price of the normal single handshakes...

Anyway, I hope Mayu's sales pick up... she sold so many of her first single in the first week, wonder how she will fare this time... this was quite close release-wise to her first, and we've had Warota, No Name and AKB as well, so many Mayuyuyuyu releases.

Still, hope she gets a 3rd single!

Indeed. The sales gap is larger than I expected, but I'd be really happy with 2nd place weekly. Bloody Johnny's spoiling the party. Every. Single. Time.

About time we pitched AKB with Arashi. Really.

On a tangential note, I fear for NO NAME's 1st day/week sales though...

 

if you see this past 2 month activities for next 2 month, i can understand how fans feeling,
for the sake of mayuyu in the future, they should use money wisely for now.

I wouldn't be too concerned. I'd be surprised if anyone's sales were so linear.

Johnnies have long been established in the industry.
Exile has so many members that it's appealing to a lot of wallets. I mean people.

Mayu is doing a fine job as a solo idol.

 

Yeah the fact these lower sales (at the moment) seemed to have both happened to Mayuyu and FK would seem to indicate that it's more than just the girls, or the single etc that are at fault for the lower sales

 

Sosenkyo votes, coming new album, next sosenkyo single and too many akb related stuffs (mainly sub-unit singles) to buy.
Wota don't have unlimited money though

Oricon's daily chart is updated. Mayuyu got 3rd again On a more positive note, the drop compared to Syncro's 2nd day wasn't as much as the 1st day's.
