Souda Sarina (Sarii) / 1st Generation

Yea SKE has been in the rocks lately, I think Rena's grad is still affecting them tbh, its been slow for them. Sally is a really interesting case because she isn't exactly like Akarin where she was chosen by management as a possible senbatsu choice first, or like Kaotan who was chosen due to her next-girl ranking and google+. Sally is a handshake monster no doubt, but herself and jpn fans see her climb to senbatsu as like a "pilgrimage", due to her age and length as an idol and constant failure in auditions. She got into senbatsu due to her handshake numbers and has that young cute vibe going for her (even with her age). You know 48 is all about drama and stories ... which was built pretty well during her draft

BUT her handshakes are apparently very "flirty" and kinda like "desperate" in the sense she makes the fans feel like kings, she isn't like Akarin, who has that "that OL you always have lunch with because you are close and you feel some romantic tension", sally is like the "genuinely cute nice girl at a party but has a naughty side for guys" (but isn't like ex NMB Milky's vibe)

lately she has been on management's priority list just due to her sheer fans, technically she sells as quick as Jurina (or quicker), and now is obvious her voting power is crazy, because comparing to Akarin she won't be far next year, and has a pretty good "story". Tbh she deserves her rank, she promotes herself like crazyyyyy, she gives as much love back to fans as they do

I just watched her SSK appeal and she said she doesn't know for how many more years she can continue as an idol. Does anyone think she might be thinking about graduating soon, considering the way she phrased it? I hope not, but considering her age, it wouldn't be too surprising.

 

That consideration is obvious, of course.
But in retrospect, her idol career is great as a whole. And finishing it in the last few spurt, whether SSK or another, while still in the top is....a fitting happy ending.

Can't ask for more.

 

Souda remained in Senbatsu (After once again not Appearing in the Prelims). She ranked 11th.
