Is something fairly popular outside Japan like Heavy Rotation, Koichun, and Sugar Rush (for being a Hollywood movie insert song) eligible? If it is then:

    1. Heavy Rotation (AKB48)
It's the track I never get tired of.
    2. Teitaion no Kiss (Ikuta Erika - Nogizaka46)
The rock-ish music may be sounds more familiar for non Japanese than idol-ish song.
    3. Koisuru Fortune Cookie (AKB48)
No matter what this song will always fun to listen to (and eventually get bored...but still fun!)
    4. Silent Majority (Keyakizaka46)
    Because its meaning.
    5. 1!2!3!4! Yoroshiku! (SKE48)
    It's catchy!
    6. HIDE & SEEK (Itano Tomomi)
It's weirdly sounds pleasant to ear.
    7. Inochi wa Utsukushii (Nogizaka46)
The beat, the dance, and meaning of the song. It gets all of those.
    8. Amagami Hime (NMB48)
    Same with Inochi, minus meaning.
    9. Punkish (NMB48 - AKB48)
    Easy listening.
    10. Sugar Rush (AKB48)
    Dorky song.

    1. Negaigoto no Mochigusare: If it is tie-in with anime/drama it will work. It has that classic gothic vibe that can draw people in. And of course we are talking about songs, not singers so give it to someone with better voice. The centers do not do the songs justice.
    2. Silent Majority: Its message is probably what's most marketable. People love rebellious youngster.
    3. Escape: Not really my thing but I can see why a lot of people will like it.
    4. Inochi wa Utsukushii: The most well-rounded one in this bunch tbh. It does not have a special catch but overall it has the best quality, sophisticated but still not too heavy to listen everyday.
    5. Sansei Kawaii
    6. Heavy Rotation: Both are cute silly idol song so its nice. Sansei Kawaii edges over because performance wise its fan chant has more power and is more memorable. Every time I sing it in karaoke everyone else get roped in.
    7. 10nenZakura: The best song from AKB's old days imo.
    8. Oki Doki: SKE always does the type of song that works best with live performance and does not exactly sounds good if you only listen to recording.
    9. Kokoro no Placard: Maybe I'm insane for choosing this over KoiSuru but it has this way too sweet, way too cute, addictive vibe going on that can catch on.
    10. Futari Saison: It is unlike anything I have ever heard from the 48/46. Probably has a niche market going on for it.

Honourable mention: Kizuitara Kataomoi, High Tension, Aishiteraburu, AKB/SKE/NMB/HKT/NGT/STU48, Hadashi de Summer, Oogoe Diamond.

    1. "UZA" (AKB48)
The first song that came to mind. With the right promotion, it could be a worldwide hit.
    2. "Hadashi de Summer"
It wasn't the song of Summer '16 for nothing.
    3. "Escape" (AKB48)
It has the making of a huge European dance hit that'd be played in every club. I can also see it being played on the radio elsewhere (especially at night).
    4. "Ponytail to Shushu" (AKB48)
I can see it as a hit in Asia. Possibly Europe. Not too sure about the rest of the world, but Europe and Asia is large enough.
    5. "Kamonegix" (NMB48)
Special shout-out to the Remo-Con Remix for being the best 48G remix in existence.
    6. "Silent Majority" (Keyakizaka46)
Teenagers would have no problem pushing this to #1 (because teenagers love rebellion). Plus, South Korea would eat it up with their current fascination over Keya's outfits.
    7. "Koisuru Fortune Cookie" (AKB48)
Everyone and their grandmother would know the dance, but would forget the song in a month's time (unfortunately). It'd essentially be a less-exhausting, but possibly more annoying, "Gangnam Style".
    8. "Bokutachi wa Tatakawanai" (AKB48)
It's not only one of AKB's best songs, but its message is something the world needs rn.
    9. "Heavy Rotation" (AKB48)
It'd have no problem being a hit around Asia, but tie it in with a Disney franchise and it'd be a hit elsewhere.
    10. "High Tension" (AKB48)
It mightn't catch on in America, but I can see it being a hit around Europe.

    1. Silent Majority (Keyakizaka46): I see Keya as the easiest group to promote overseas with some clickbait article like "These Japanese Schoolgirls Aren't Taking Your S***" or something.
    2. UZA (AKB48): this was also the first song I thought of when I thought of something that would make it big overseas.
    3. Fukyouwaon (Keyakizaka46): would work especially as a direct followup to Silent Majority
    4. Must Be Now (NMB48): dance track with a k-pop vibe and strong lead vocals
    5. 365 Nichi no Kamihikouki (AKB48): I feel like this is already kind of popular overseas
    6. Bokutachi wa Tatakawanai (AKB48)
    7. Influencer (Nogizaka46)
    8. Inochi wa Utsukushii (Nogizaka46)
    9. Heavy Rotation (AKB48)
    10. Seishun Girls (AKB48): I can see this one being a kind of catchy earworm that people think is annoying but can't stop playing

As an English speaker, I like songs with random English words in them.

    1) Heavy Rotation
    2) Oki Doki
    3) Melon Juice
    4) Koisuru Fortune Cookie
    5) Durian Shounen (no English, but with those arm and leg movements, it could be the next Macarena, but not as incredibly boring)

So funny story, I'm kind of horrible at predicting what would be popular, so I'm actually basing my list off of back at my old retail job I would regularly put 48g/46 songs on the playlist and these were the songs that got compliments from co-workers or customers. Apparently Bokutachi wa Tatakawanai is still on the playlist even a year after I left.

I was living in Seattle! So a fair amount of hipsters where open to it, even if about 90% of the responses were "Hey this is that K-pop thing, right?" or "This reminds me of this one band I really like! Have you ever heard of Babymetal?"

Mostly I vote EDM, strong music songs because as we all know, it's a hit these years.

KFC's in because of its disco vibe.

Hebirote's in because it has been proven in Indonesia, idk why.

Ebikachu's in because of its summer vibe.

Negamochi's in since its European Classic vibes combined with Minna no Uta-kind of anime makes it memorable.

i'm not really into most of the 48g, so i'll just put keya/nogi/akb songs here!
    1. Silent Majority
    2. Fukyouwaon (because everyone outside 4846 loves their EDM-ish songs)
    3. Beginner (everyone loves cool songs with motivational lyrics lol.)
    4. Influencer (dance song that would probably become trendy if a popular int. dancer performs it)
    5. Futari Saison (a biased reason, this is always the first song I show to my friends who are non-idol fans, and they would research as much as they can on Keya after hearing the song. the same went for me tbh!)

I'm from the USA so I'm not really sure what songs would be considered hits in other countries outside of Japan other than America. So I'm just listing songs that I think might have a chance here in the USA. Although most of these are probably a stretch as I don't think Idol music would ever take off here. The strongest songs would probably be the ones with a dark or EDM feel, like most everyone else listed.

    1.) Bokutachi wa Tatakawanai (AKB48)
    2.) Escape (SKE48)
    3.) Silent Majority (Keyakizaka46)
4.) Sekai de Ichiban Kodoku na Lover (Nogizaka46)
    5.) Nante Bohemian (AKB48)
    6.) Inochi wa Utsukushii (Nogizaka46)
    7.) Must Be Now (NMB48)
    8.) Ikiru koto (AKB48)
    9.) Fukyouwaon (Keyakizaka46)
    10.) Hadashi de Summer (Nogizaka46)

Stage48 Countdown (Episode 156) (Songs that would be a Hit outside Japan)
Welcome everybody to Episode 156 of Stage48 Countdown, I'm Forrest Fuller. On Today's Episode, we will be counting down the 10 Songs that would be a Hit Outside Japan. Before we began, let's look at the 5 songs that would be just shy of making the countdown. Here are your Honorable Mentions

    Honorable Mentions
    11) Hadashi de Summer (14 Points)
    12) Negaigoto No Mochigusare (13 Points)
    13) Ponytail to Shushu (12 Points)
    14) Punkish (11 Points)
    15) Beginner (10 Points)

Now on to our Top 10
    10) Fukyouwaon (15 Points)
    9) Kamonegix (16 Points)
    8) Inochi wa Utsukushii (19 Points)
    7) Must Be Now (20 Points)
    6) Bokutachi wa Tatakawanai (34 Points)
    5) Koi Suru Fortune Cookie (37 Points)
    4) Heavy Rotation (43 Points)
    3) UZA (44 Points)
    2) Escape (45 Points)
    1) Silent Majority (80 Points)

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Silent Majority takes the top spot, Totally agree with this being #1 since it just screams huge hit overseas. As it did with Japan, Silent Majority is a song that would tell the one that's it's time to start taking J-Pop seriously now. It would be a gamechanger imo.

Escape and UZA take the #2 and #3 spots. Heavy dance tracks like these are something that people would love overseas. UZA is something that would be huge over in here giving that the director of the Music Video is Joseph Kahn (aka somebody who I hope does another MV for the group since his videos were awesome!). But Escape and UZA would easily be hits over here (as would Silent Majority).

Time to began Episode 157 Voting, a Topic I'm really interested in seeing.

    Triple Threat Members

As we have done lists of Best Actress, Best Singer, Best Dancers. It's time to see who are great at all 3 of them. These are the 10 Triple Threat Members in the 48/Sakamichi Groups. As I mentioned, These are girls who are great at Acting, Singing, and Dancing. These are girls (Past and Present) from AKB48, SKE48, NMB48, HKT48, NGT48, STU48, SDN48, Nogizaka46, and Keyakizaka46.

    Voting Begins Now
    Voting Ends on September 17th

Can you clarify the rule for voting for your oshi in this one? I ask because this is kind of the reason why I like her in the first place, and the first post is a little hard to understand.
